Janet Mae Parsons, age 87, Halifax. It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of our mom on December 5th, 2021 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary, with both Carolyn and Jag by her side. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Mildred and Ronald Roberts. She and Dad married in 1953, raised our family there until they made our home Labrador City in 1963, retired and moved to back Pasadena, NL. Mom eventually moved to St. John's with Carolyn.

Jag came into their lives and started a military journey making Halifax home in 2005. Mom loved traditional Newfie meals; as Carolyn took over cooking them, she was our professional taste tester and, also had an insatiable appetite for oysters and lobster. Mom was a gentle, honest, loving woman with a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh, often at herself. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, our garden, especially the roses, visiting birds (except the crows waking her in the mornings), berry picking, scratching Lotto tickets, dancing, reading the paper and magazines, then updating us on current affairs, royalty and Hollywood. Carolyn and Jag gave their love, exceptional care and despite her painful health conditions, with her quite strength she never complained.

Predeceased by her husband Jim Parsons and parents Mildred and Ronald Roberts. Leaving her love and memories with her children, Lorraine (Herb) Thoms, Donna (Brian) Hancock, Carolyn (Rohtesh - aka Jag) Jagat, Jim (Penny) Parsons, brother and sister-in-law Rudy (Nina) Roberts, sister Beth Roberts; sister-in-law Irene Chaulk, brother-in-law Joe Parsons; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, the Jagat family, very special friends Ann and Jim, Rose, Debbie, Dana and Wayne, Goldie and many others. Very special thanks to Dr. Stacy Williams, the doctors, nurses and staff on 8.4.1 QEII and the supportive workplaces of Carolyn and Jag. You are forever loved and in our hearts.

No service by her request. Arrangements and cremation have taken place by Cole Harbour Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on a later, warmer date. To sign the on-line guest book please visit: www.coleharbourfuneral.com

Obituary For Earl J Petite
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Earl J. Petite in his 92nd year, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Burin, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Captain Michael Petite and the late Alice Maude (Brown). He emigrated to Canada in 1932, with parents and two older brothers, Frank and Chesley, arriving in Yarmouth, where he spent his childhood. He moved to Halifax in the early 1950s, where he began a career working in sales, ending up as a business owner.

A man who was always social, nothing gave him more pleasure than being surrounded by his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He also enjoyed watching many different sports, with the Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers being his particular favourites. He often fondly recalled the trips taken across the country and the USA, back in the '70s with the Airstream, travelling with his family.

He is survived by partner, Della Allen; children, Kathy, Michael, Patricia (Kirk) and Gregory (Joanne); grandchildren, Nick, Wesley (Alexa), Brandon (Bri), Liam (Caitlin) and Nathan (Rachel); step-grandchildren, Cate and Maura; great-granddaughter, River Anne; a nephew and several nieces. He was predeceased by first wife and mother of his children, Nina (Joey) (DeWolfe); second wife, Martha (Riddle); his parents, Alice (Brown), Captain Michael Petite and his brothers, Captain Frank Petite and Chesley Petite.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
