Published: February 16, 2022
Age 77, of Port Williams, passed away peacefully in Grand View Manor, Berwick on Sunday, February 13, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Patricia was born in Windsor, N.L. to the late Leonard and Mary Miller. She came from a large family with 16 siblings, many of them were welcomed into her home in Nova Scotia whenever they needed. Patricia met her husband, Gerald in 1985 and settled in Port Williams a short time after. They travelled to many places over the years making memories with family and friends. She retired from Acadia University after 20 years to do what she loved - she always had outstanding flower gardens and grew enough vegetables to feed an army. Her grandchildren were her favourite pastime, as they came along she was always available whenever they wanted or needed her.

She is survived by her soulmate, Gerald; children, Len (Sheilah) Smith, Karen (Don) Cleveland, Bev Arnburg and Cathy Arnburg; grandchildren, Dylan Cleveland, Rachael Cleveland (Colton Spicer), Kirk Whitman and Morgan Whitman; as well as several siblings and extended family. The family would like to thank Grand View Manor for the exceptional care and love they provided to Pat over the last few years. A heartfelt thank you goes to her sister, Rose, who spent many hours caring and walking many miles with her - she loved you like a daughter.

Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place in Jawbone Corner Cemetery, Canard, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Grand View Manor. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Born in Burgeo, N.L., in November 1924, Albert was a loving, devoted husband, brother, and uncle. He was a son of the late George and Bertha (Strickland) Green (of Burgeo). For 17 years Albert served as the loved care taker at St. Stephen's school. Despite being retired for 32 years, past students and teachers vividly recall the love and kindness Albert exuded towards the many teachers and students over the many years caring for the school. Albert touched the hearts of all of those individuals he interacted with. He was a faithful member of Saint Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, Halifax.

Albert loved working with his hands and used his talent to design and build from scrap wood several "Bluenose" replicas which can be found in homes from Nova Scotia to Ontario and maybe beyond. His many nieces and nephews greatly enjoyed many of his heroic stories of his adventures while serving in the Merchant Navy.

Albert is survived by his wife of 74 years, Azelma (Vardy) Green and many nieces and nephews. Albert was a loved great, great and more recently a great, great, great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Albert would wait with great anticipation for their visits and always lovingly had his arms extended to greet the children. Special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and caregivers that have compassionately supported Albert over the past few years.

PRIMEAU, Helen "Shirley" -- Falmouth
Published: February 07, 2022

It is with broken hearts that our beloved mother has since joined her angels, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in her home in Falmouth, surrounded by her loving family, after a hard fought 18 month battle with cancer. Born on February 20, 1954, in Lourdes, N.L., she was a daughter of the late John and Bertha (Targett) Flynn. Shirley was a great mother, who devoted all her time and energy to her children. She was a fantastic teacher, who began her career at the young age of 20 in Labrador. Teaching in Newfoundland, Labrador and Nova Scotia, she would later go on to meet the love of her life and future husband, where they would live out the rest of their lives together with their two beautiful children, Genevieve and John-Paul, settling in Nova Scotia. Her teaching career spanned over 40 years and when the time came to retire, she could not help but return to the classroom as a substitute teacher and mentor for Acadia's future teacher program, fueled by her passion for educating.

A very intelligent woman, her family encouraged her to pursue her PhD. She always declined by saying, "that would take me out of the classroom, where the real work happened." She was incredibly beautiful inside and out, those who knew her were immediately touched by her kind and caring demeanor, with her tenacious and fiery spirit. In her down time, she loved to be out in the garden, enjoying her cup of tea, cooking with her daughter, building things with her husband and sharing deep conversations with her son. The void that she is leaving is irreplaceable and she will be sorely missed in our hearts.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul; son, John-Paul; daughter, Genevieve; sisters, Esther Flynn, Veronica Benoit, Linda Flynn; brothers, Gregory Flynn and Christopher Flynn; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, John, Hillary and Patrick Flynn; sister, Marjorie (Flynn) Farrell.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A Celebration of Life will be held in June, please contact geeprimeau@gmail.com for further details. Donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, 205 Horton St. E, Suite 203, London, ON N6B 1K7 (1-800-265-5106).
