ANSTEY, Edith "Minnie"
Passed away peacefully at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on Friday, January 15th, 2016, Edith "Minnie" Anstey, age 92. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Daisy Mutford, husband Leonard Anstey, son Eric, daughters Doreen and Evelyn, brothers Bert, George, and Fred. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her sons Gerald (Carol) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Ross (Bernice) of Twillingate, Aubrey (Claudine) of Gander, Kevin (Zee) of Medicine Hat, AB, son-in-law Patrick Shallow, grandchildren Denise Smith, Jennifer Clarke, Heather Anstey, Michael Shallow, Doug Shallow, Nancy Wiertz, Terry Anstey, Greg Anstey, Christopher Anstey, Sean Anstey, Justin Anstey, Leonard Anstey, Kevin Anstey, 19 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 19th at 2:00 P.M. from St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery. Donations in Edith's memory may be made to the All Saints Cemetery or a Charity of One's Choice. Arrangements entrusted to Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. PENNEY, Clyde Greening
Passed on: January 19th, 2016

Passed peacefully away at home in the presence of his loving wife, Clyde Greening Penney of Musgravetown, on January 19, 2016; aged 89 years five months. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Jediah Penney; brothers Boyd (Tass), Eric (Jessie), and sister Laura (Cerrick). Left with many fond, comical and loving memories, his wife Doris of 64 years; children Frank (Gail), Delores (Wayne), Brad (Heather), Angela (Gerry, deceased) and Tanya (Chris); sisters Margaret (Joe), Jean (Eric, deceased), mother-in-law Eva Martin (Frank, deceased), sisters-in-law Bride (Jack, deceased), Fronie (Frank, deceased) and Marina (Harvey); brothers-in-law Gary (Pat), Roland (Val) Elroy; grandchildren Steven (Natasha), Stephanie (Paul), Mandy, Neil, Brandon, Rebecca, Jillian and great grandchild Charlie; special cousin Rita; special friends Lindo/Helen, John/Jean, Emma/Lloyd, Doug/Myrtle. Clyde enjoyed his many years working at Canadian National Railway. In retirement, he and Doris enjoyed their RVing and met many friends; Clyde loved sailing his boat ('The Ancient Mariner'); he was an outgoing man who was interested in everyone's story; he was known as 'the ticket man' in his support of multiple fundraising activities. He was a husband, father and (great) grandfather extraordinaire; his family and friends were his priority (the grandchildren and great grandchild 'Sir Charles' gave him immense delight) but most important to him was Doris; he always called her 'my beautiful wife'. The family wish to express their gratitude for the exemplary care provided by Drs. Brentnall and Stockwell, and to Karen in the office. For those who knew him well 'me say, now' is at rest. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Chapel service took place at Fewer's on January 23/16 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the the NL Division of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

WHITE, Randy
Born: February 12th, 1945

Randy Edward White, Paradise, NL
February 12, 1945-January 23, 2016

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Hospital, St. John's, on Saturday, January 23, 2016, Randy Edward White. Predeceased by his parents, Malcolm and Joyce (Carter) White. Left to mourn are his wife, Byril (Goodyear), and children: Tamara (Darroch White), Travis (Kelly Price), Tara, Edward (Lori Whiteway); grandchildren: Melanie, Edward, Hannah, Matthew, Andrew, Hadley and Isaac; stepdaughters: Leslie Horwood and Kim Snelgrove and step-granddaughter, Dawn. Also leaving to mourn his brother, Dave (Betty Cooper) his sisters: Linda, Audrey (Glenn Oake) and Trudi (Albert Johnson); three nephews: Ainslie, Stephane, and David, several cousins, and a wide circle of friends. Born in St. John's, Randy worked most of his professional life in Central Newfoundland with the Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, and Recreation. He served as Mayor of Lewisporte and as Mayor of Comfort Cove-Newstead. Many will remember him for his friendship, warm sense of humour, and entertaining emceeing of various functions throughout Central Newfoundland. No funeral or visitation by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
