BARNES, Bessie Jean
(January 5, 1927 - July 29, 2011)

Passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Friday, July 29, 2011, Mrs. Bessie Barnes, age 84 years of Horwood. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman; daughter, Martha; sisters, Frances, Marjorie, Edith; parents, Charlie and Maude Hart. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Varrick (Ruby), Maggie (Leonard), Eileen (Alex), Barbara (Earl), Derrick, Marjorie (Gerard), Bernice (Leo), Gilmore (Elsie), Daphne (Wayne), Sharron (Warren), Tom (Myrtle), Doreen (David), Darlene (Danny), Craig (Tricia), Earl (Judy), Leroy (Patricia); 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle, Linda and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Raymond Clouter conducted Funeral Service from the United Church, Horwood on Monday, August 1, 2011. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were her sons, Varrick, Gilmore, Tom, Earl, Craig; grandson, Leroy. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the United Church Cemetery Fund will be gratefully accepted.

BENSI, Dominga Falcon
(June 16, 1925 - July 11, 2011)

Passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the North Haven Manor in Lewisporte, Mrs. Dominga Bensi, of Lewisporte, age 86 years. She was predeceased by her son, Ricardo; granddaughter, Angelica; grandson, Maverick Jude; sisters, Benigna, Inisha, Soledad; brother, Hilario. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Restituto; children, Avelina, Lucille (Darie), Veronica, Israelita (Deryl), Aristides (Pamela); 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews. Pastor Ivan Tilley conducted the funeral service from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte on Thursday, July 14, 2011. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the North Haven Manor Palliative Care Unit will be gratefully accepted.

BLAKE, Silas
(July 13, 1924 - July 3, 2011)

Passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the North Haven Manor in Lewisporte, Mr. Silas Blake, age 86 years of Baytona. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Jemima Blake; daughter, Melvina; son, Nelson; grandson, Phillip Jeffery Blake. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Maria; children, Wilbert (Lily), Angus (Nora), Hazel Humby (Leonard); grandchildren, Mervin, Stephanie, Robbie, Eugene, Crystal and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Logan, Hannah, Jared, Caleb, Aaliyah, Jaden, Dylan, Gavin and Adrielle; brothers, Edward and Frank; sisters, Jane, Mary, Minnie, Eva, Vera Maude and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastors Victor Rowsell and Robert Canning conducted Funeral Service from the Beacon Pentecostal Church in Birchy Bay on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons, Wilbert and Angus Blake; grandsons, Mervin, Eugene and Christopher; brother, Frank. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Parkinson's Society or the Gideons would be gratefully accepted.
