LAYTE, Major Calvin Frederick
July 21, 1937 - July 24, 2017
Major Calvin Layte
was promoted to glory on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, at the age of 80. Calvin, beloved husband of Mae (nee Russell) for 57 years. Loving father of Brian of Fevershan, ON, Beverley (Chris) Ranger of Calgary, AB and Bruce (Patti) of Okotoks, AB, dear Grampa of Evan, Jessica, Katelyn, Austin, Alexis, Taylor, Mya, Brendan and the late Samantha, and brother Frank (Elsie). Calvin is predeceased by his parents Selena and Fred Layte, brother Morgan, father and mother-in-law George and Lillian Russell. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Louise, nieces, nephews and many friends. Major Calvin served faithfully with the Salvation Army across Canada for 50 years. Committal to take place at a later date. Donations made to the General and Marine Hospital Dialysis Unit would be appreciated.

PADDOCK, Joy
Born: October 5th, 1932
Passed in: Lewisporte, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
Passed on: July 8th, 2017
October 05, 1932 - July 08, 2017

Passed away at the Lewisporte Health Center, Lewisporte, NL, Mrs. Joy Paddock, aged 84 years. She is predeceased by her husband Munn; parents, Joseph and Ella; brothers, Wallace and Kevin; and sister, Hazel. Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her sons, Barry and Geoff (Karen); granddaughters, Jennifer and Amy; brothers, Oliver, Murray (Hilda) and Roy; sister, Kay; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. The funeral service took place from St. Matthews United Church, Lewisporte, NL on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. An interment followed from the United Church Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL. As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Society or UNICEF. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.
