Births:

DONNELLY - On Thursday morning last, the wife of Hon. W. J. DONNELLY, of a daughter.

Marriages:

DUFFETT - CARBERY - At Rendell Harbour, Smiths Sound, Trinity Bay, on the 6th Jan. by the Rev. Mr. HARRINGTON, Mr. George DUFFETT, of Bay de Verde, to Miss Hannah, daughter of the late Mr. William CARBERY of Burgoyne Cove.

Deaths:

ASHE - At Trinity, on Jan. 3d, after a painfull illness, borne with christian resignation, Mr. Joseph ASHE, aged 32 years.

CADY - At North Adams, Mass.; on the 24th ult., Miss Caroline CADY, aged 37 years. "A blameless life is finished; a loving daughter, a loved sister, a sympathising friend, a Christian woman has gone from our midst." - Hoosac Valley News, Jan. 27

DAW - At Greenspond, on the 11th ulto., Jane, the beloved wife of Mr. Joseph DAW, aged 32 years.

PELLEY - At George's Brook, Smith's Sound, Trinity Bay, Jan. 30th, of croup, John F., youngest child of Edmond and Ann PELLEY, aged three years and one month.

WELLS - At English Harbour, Trinity Bay, about same time, Mr. Mark WELLS, aged 56 years.

Marriages:

DAVIES - PAGE - On Wednesday, the 15th inst., by the Rev. T. HALL, Capt. DAVIES of London, to Emma Maria, widow of the late F. R. PAGE, Esq., of this City.

Deaths:

BUCKLEY - On Wednesday morning, after a long illness, Catherine, the beloved wife of the late Mr. John BUCKLEY, blacksmith, in the 78th year of her age.

COURAGE - At Catalina 15th Feb., deeply and deservedly regretted, Caroline, the beloved wife of Mr. George J. COURAGE, and seventh daughter of Stephen JEANS, Esq., aged 28 years.

HICKS - At Bonavista, on the 8th February, Charlotte, wife of Mr. Hugh HICKS, aged 33 years, leaving a husband and seven children to lament their loss.

HARRIS - At the same place, on the 18th inst., Emily, daughter of the late Giles HARRIS, aged 14 years.

LESTER - On Thursday evening last, Mary Grace, wife of Mr. John LESTER, and eldest daughter of Mr. John EALES, Sen., in 55th year of her age.

MUNDEN - At Brigus, on the 10th inst., Susannah, relict of the late Nathaniel MUNDEN, aged 85 years.

MARCH - At Old Perlican, on the 20th instant, Laura Jane, the beloved wife of Mr. Ebenezer MARCH, and daughter of Rev. Thomas FOX, Methodist Minister.

BOONE - EMERSON - At Harbor Grace, on Wednesday last , at Retreat Cottage, the residence of the brides father, by the Rev. D. FALCONIO, O.S.F., administrator of the Cathedral, John H. BOONE, Esq., of St. John's, barrister-at-law, to Eva Eugenie, eldest daughter of Lewis EMERSON, Esq.

Deaths:

ROBERTSON - On the 5th April, at 135, Main-street, Glasgow, James ROBERTSON, Esq., of Messrs. Aiton & Robertson, Milnwood Iron works, Holytown, nephew of James SEATON, esq., Editor of the Express.

PARSONS - At Harbor Grace, on the 9th ult., Harriet Marie, eldest daughter aged 15 months; and on the 23rd ult., Hubert Austin, infant son, aged 3 days, children of Mr. Ambrose PARSONS. And on Thursday last, Mary Ann, wife of Mr. Ambrose PARSONS, and daughter of Mr. George H. TAYLOR, of Carbonear, aged 26 years.

BUTT - On Tuesday, 9th May, Thomas, aged 6 years, son of Mr. Moses BUTT, Blacksmith.

Marriages:

HERDER - BULLEY. - On the 20th Inst., by Rev. S. B. DUNN, Mr. Henry Geo. HERDER, to Miss Charlotte BULLEY both of this city.

ROTHWELL - RENNIE. - On Tuesday, 26th inst., at the Cathedral Church of St. John, by the Right Rev. the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, assisted by the Revs. F. R. MURRAY and J. C. MACHIN, Edward ROTHWELL, Esq., of Manchester, England, to Jessie, youngest daughter of W. F. RENNIE, Esq., of this town.

CURLING - ROBINSON. - On the 27th of September, at the Cathedral, St. John's, Newfoundland, by the Right Rev. the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, assisted by the Rev. Joseph F. PHELPS, brother-in-law of the bride, the Rev. Joseph James CURLING, former Lieutenant Royal Engineers, only son of the late Joseph CURLING, Esq. of Herne Hill, Dulwich, Surry, to Emily Marian, youngest daughter of the Hon. Mr. Justice ROBINSON, of Newfoundland.

Deaths:

McMILLAN - On the 28th Inst., Mr John McMILLAN, in the 46th year of his age. His funeral will take place on to-morrow Sunday, at half-past two o'clock, from his late residence, Water Street.

GODDARD - At Burin, on the 12th Sept., George GODDARD, aged 73 years and 5 months.

GOULD - At Carbonear, on Sunday evening, Sept. 17th, after a brief illness, John Joseph, youngest son of Michael and Elizabeth GOULD, aged 21 years and 8 months.

WISEMAN - At Trenton, New Jersey, on Saturday, Aug. 19, Susanne, beloved wife of Mr. James WISEMAN, formerly of St. John's, Newfoundland.

SEVIOUR - SALE - At the Chapel School, Rendell Harbour, Smiths Sound, on the 14th inst., by the Rev. Mr. HARRINGTON, Mr. Isac SEVIOUR, of British Harbour, to Miss Mary Anne, daughter of Mr. John SALE, of Lance Cove.

Deaths:

MACDOUGALL - On Wednesday morning, Mr. Neil Mackellar MACDOUGALL, eldest son of the late Neil MACDOUGALL, Esq., aged 25 years.

PROWSE - On Saturday last, after a short illness, Mr. Thomas PROWSE, carpenter, aged 60 years, a native of Newfoundland.

MURRAY - On Tuesday last, aged 70 years, Thomas, eldest son of the late John MURRAY.

MATTHEWS - At Broad Cove, Bonavista Bay, on the 8th inst., Mr. Philip MATTHEWS, aged 45 years.

MINTY - At Bird Island Cove, Oct. 6, W. MINTY, Stipendiary Constable, aged 78 years.

CAUGHLIN - At Bonavista, Oct. 13, James CAUGHLIN, aged 80 years.

WELLS - On the 24th Ulto., at Twillinggate, the wife of Police Sergeant WELLS of a daughter.

SIMMONS - STOCKLESS - On the 25th ultimo, by the Rev. M. HARVEY, Mr. Joseph SIMMONS of St. John's, to Miss Martha STOCKLESS of Twillingate.

HAMLIN - PARSONS - On the 25th ultimo, by the Rev. S.B. DUNN, Mr. Charles HAMLIN, of this city, to Miss Margaret PARSONS, of Harbor Grace.

JANES - SQUIRES - On Wednesday, Oct. 25th, by Rev. S. B. DUNN, Mr. Moses JANES of this town , to Mrs. Margaret SQUIRES, of Black Head.

BUTT - MOREY - On Wednesday, Oct. 25th, by Rev. S. B. DUNN, Mr. Thomas F.BUTT, to Miss Jessie MOREY, both of this town.

ANGEL - STRINGER - On Thursday, Oct. 26th, By Rev. S. B. DUNN, Mr. John ANGEL, to Mrs. Mary Ann STRINGER, both of this town.

JANES - LEGROW - On Tuesday, Oct. 31st, by Rev. S. B. DUNN, Mr. Josiah JANES, of Black Head, to Miss Ann LEGROW, of Bauline.

Deaths:

LANGLEY - At Dunedin, New Zealand, on the 9th July last, Parmenas LANGLEY, aged 46 years, youngest son of the late Richard LANGLEY, Esq., formerly of St. John's, merchant.

McKEOWN - At Montreal, on October 8th, Mr. Charles McKEOWN, aged 45 years, brother of Mr. Robert McKEOWN of this town. Also on the 4th ulto., Charles John, son of the late Mr. Charles McKEOWN.
