It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pratt P. Burton, age 73, announce his passing at the BVPHC, Baie Verte on December 2, 2003. Predeceased by his parents George and Dorothy Burton; parents-in-law Peter and Daisy Elliott; brother Boyce and sisters-in-law Viola and Rowena. Left to forever cherish their wonderful memories are wife Margaret; children Danny (Wendy), Grand Prairie, AB, Diana Morey (Roy), La Scie and Richard, La Scie; grandchildren Leslie and Donavan; Kristi, Nik and Tim. Also leaving to mourn are brother Woodrow (Hazel) Burton, Springdale; Aunt Katie Burton, Baie Verte; brothers-in-law Harry Elliott (Betty), Bruce Elliott (Josephine), David Elliott (Shirley), Ross Elliott (Bonnie) all of Twillingate; sisters-in-law Josephine Hynes (Melvin), St. John's, Phyllis Hynes (Clarence), Brampton, ON and Bonnie Moylan (Jim) Parry Sound, ON; a large number of nephews and nieces and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev George Kean conducted the funeral service at Zion United Church and Cemetery, La Scie on Saturday, December 6, 2003. Pallbearers were John Hoddinott, Junior Martin, Brian Martin, Richard Martin, Clayton Newbury and Junior Gray.

NOFTALL, JOHN JOSEPH
FLEUR DE LYS

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Joseph Noftall, age 69, announce his passing at the CNRHC, Grand Falls-Windsor on Friday, December 5, 2003. Predeceased by parents John and Bridget Noftall; son Tony and brother-in-law Reginald Regular. Left to forever cherish their wonderful memories are his wife Loretta; daughter Karen Noftall, Scarborough, ON; sons Thomas (Nicole), Ft MacMurray, AB, Gregory, Brampton,ON, Lorne (Marissa) Hamilton, ON; grandsons Tony, Billy, Dillon, Dalton, Blaine and granddaughter Lauren. Also leaving to mourn are sister Marie Regular, Baie Verte and brother Patrick (Lillian), Fleur De Lys and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Tom Duffenais conducted the funeral mass at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Fleur De Lys on Wednesday, December 10, 2003. Pallbearers were Thomas Noftall, Lorne Noftall, Patrick Noftall, Greg Noftall Anthony Phillpott, Gordon Walsh and the crossbearer was William Lewis.

TOMS, WILLIE GEORGE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Willie George Toms, age 76, announce his passing at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, December 7, 2003. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Dorcas Toms; first wife Daisy; second wife Martha; brothers Francis and Clarence and sister Hilda Ryan. Left to forever cherish his memories are daughters Jo-ann Toms, Lewisporte and Wanda Pearce (Alvin), Shoal Hr. Grandchildren Joanna (Paul) and Adam; great granddaughter Alexis; sister Mildred Morey, La Scie; sister-in-law Alvina Toms, La Scie; Martha's family; a large number of nephews and nieces and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. George Kean conducted the funeral service at Zion United Church and Cemetery, La Scie on Wednesday, December 10, 2003. Pallbearers were Raymond Gray, Varrick Wells, Francis Osbourne, Harvey Martin, John Hodinott and Junior Martin.

DEMPSEY, DAVID PATRICK
It is with great sadness that the family of the late David Patrick Dempsey, age 75, announce his passing at the BVPHC, Baie Verte on Thursday, December 11, 2003. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Philomena; sister Monica Howard; step brother Lewis Clarke and brother-in-law Bill Cashin. Left with fond and loving memories are sisters Anne Reeves (Phillip), Baie Verte Theresa Cashin, Gambo, Bridget Kelly (Frank), St. John's, Josie Agostino (Tony), Montreal, Ellen Swan (Fred), Sault St. Marie; brother Donald, Chetwynd, BC; very special niece and nephew Lynn and Donald; many other nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Tom Duffenais conducted the funeral mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte on Saturday, December 13, 2003. Pallbearers were Betty Ann Seymour, Maureen Schwartz, Regina Power, Theresa Reeves, Monica Holloway. Cathy Cashin and the crossbearer was David Reeves.

DROVER, JESSIE TROKE
1906 - 2003

Predeceased by husband Ted in 1980. Leaving to mourn son John (Sheilah); daughter Marge Evans (John); grandchildren Anne, Michael, Judith, Jillian and Jonathan; great grandchildren Robin, Sarah, Jessie and Sophie; sister Nina Cooper (Willy); brothers Wilfred (Olive) and Manual (Amy); sisters-in-law Olga Davis and Louise Strothard; special extended family, the Austrais of Springdale, Feli, Jes, Mey and Jessica and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Cremation followed by a private family burial.

LITTLE WALTER GEORGE
Passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 18, 2003, Walter George Little of King's Point age 60 years. Predeceased by parents Ezekiel and Florence and nephew Nathaniel. Left to mourn children Dean (Tammy) and children Abigail and Ethan, Loretta and children Kyle and Zachary all of Fort MacMurray, AB, Trent and daughter Kaley, Corner Brook, Jenny-Lynn, Calgary, AB; their mother Margaret; brothers William and Charles (Mary); sisters Muriel (Andrew) Moores, Ada (Fred) Slade, Vera (Roy) Martin, Jeanette (Clarence) Lecoure and Joyce (Charlie) Rendell and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral took place on Monday, December 21, 2003 at the United Church and Cemetery, King's Point.

PYNN, SCOTT
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Scott Pynn announce his passing at the Hospital in Springdale on December 19, 2003 at the age of 65. Scott was a member of the Salvation Army Men's Fellowship and Harry's Harbour Orange Lodge. Scott retired from the Department of Works, Services and Transportation. Predeceased by first wife Ermie and parents Wilson and Dulcie Pynn. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Beatrice; sons Lavern (Donna), Springdale and Wilson (Dana), Springdale. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren Felica and Patrick; brother Lewis (Frances), St Anthony and sister Genevieve Dawe, Kingston, ON. Major Gary Butt conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel, Springdale on December 22, 2003. Interment was at the Jackson's Cove Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers were Calvin Evans, Chester Batstone, Ross Osmond, Cecil Webber, Carl Pynn and Sid Freake.

ROBERTS, MYRTLE JEAN BELLE
Passed away December 19, 2003 peacefully. Myrtle Jean Belle Roberts at the Springdale Hospital. She was 70 years old. Predeceased by first husband Ernest, daughter Joanne, father Donald Hewlett and brother Ruben. Left to mourn are second husband Steward; sons Lloyd (Wanda), Espanola, ON, Brian (Carolyn), Fort MacMurray, AB, Larry (Geraldine), Toronto, ON, Leroy (Eliza), North Sydney, NS, Leon, Cape Breton, NS, and Tony (Donna), Robert's Arm; daughters Donna (Ford), Spruce Grove, AB, Beverly (Ken), South Brook, Blanche, Montique, PEI, Linda (Michael), Murray Hr, PEI, Kay (Barry), La Scie, Norma, Grand Falls-Windsor, Allison (Don), Spruce Grove, AB, and Paula, Espanola, ON. Also leaving to mourn sisters Marion, Evelyn, Blanche, Masie, Patsy and Christine; eight stepchildren Clarence, Fay, Florence, Frances, Wallace, Fern, Freda and Bernard; 39 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Chaulk conducted the funeral services at the Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Triton on Tuesday, December 23, 2003. Pallbearers were daughters Kay and Allison, stepdaughter Fern and sons Leroy, Leon and Tony.

FOSS, PHYLLIS
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Phyllis Foss, age 59, announce her passing at the Toronto General Hospital on Saturday, December 20, 2003. Predeceased by her son Danny Douglas; parents Allan and Masie Bishop; parents-in-law Gordon and Mary Foss; sister Myrtle Ryan; brothers Calvin, Desmond and Frank; brothers-in-law Stanley Ryan and Eric Fudge; sister-in-law Joyce Young and nephew Jason Fudge. Left with fond and loving memories are husband Bert; son Danny (Wanda); daughters Janice Martin (John), Cindylynn (John Sudar) and Terrilynn; grandchildren Trina, Cody, Zack, Toby, Seirra and Amanda, all of Brampton. Also leaving to mourn are brother Junior Bishop (Daisy); sisters Jean Abbott (Halley), Jessie Critch (Selby), Mavis Bath (Harold), Mable Stoodley (Guy), Muriel Dyer (Gerald); sisters-in-law Stella Bishop, Marion Bishop and Vanessa Bishop, Goldie Rumbolt (Leo), Ena Fudge, Marjorie Fudge (Bryce), Lillian Critch, Jeanette Bishop (Gordon), Christine Austin (Calvin; brothers-in-law Earl (Brenda) and Charlie; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Sidney Payne conducted the funeral services at St. Paul's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte on Friday, December 26, 2003. Pallbearers were nephews Lorne Fudge, Dennis Critch, Bert Fudge, Gord Critch, Allan Critch and Mark Critch.

PINKSEN, REGINALD JAMES
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reginald James Pinksen, age 86, announce his passing at the BVPHC, Baie Verte on Wednesday, December 24, 2003. Predeceased by his wife Marjorie; parents Stewart and Lavinia; brothers Gilbert, Herman and Allan; sisters Jane and Mable and brother-in-law Essau Patey. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Alvin (Margaret), Wild Cove, Everett (Sadie), Churchill Falls, Kevin (Marion), Clarenville, Derrick (June), Larry (Brenda) both of Wild Cove; daughters Patricia Pardy (Albert), Fort MacMurray, AB and Marion Foster (Roy), Corner Brook; 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn brothers Harold and Maxwell (Marie); sisters Muriel Patey, Marjorie Walker (Warrick), Mable Sacrey (Hubert), Rosie Jenkins (Harvey) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastors Marvin Freake and Roger Combdon conducted the funeral services at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Wild Cove on Friday, December 26, 2003. Pallbearers were sons Larry, Derrick, Kevin, Alvin and grandsons Bradley and Boyd.

FRENCH, WILLIAM SAMUEL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Samuel French announce his passing at he CNRHC, Grand Falls-Windsor on December 26, 2003 at the age of 80. Mr. French was a member of the Salvation Army. He retired from George Warr Ltd. Predeceased by parents Raymond and Azeneth French. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Clara; son Keywood (Linda), Guelph, ON; daughters Sandra (Francis), Springdale and Lorraine (Pat), St. John's. Also leaving to mourn sister Marina Ball (Garland), Buchans; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Major Butt conducted the funeral services at the Springdale Salvation Army Church and Cemetery on December 29, 2003.

BARTLETT, HAROLD WILLIAM
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harold William Bartlett announce his passing at the CNRHC, Grand Falls-Windsor on December 26, 2003 at the age of 72. Harold was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 12, Grand Falls-Windsor and the Central Newfoundland Naval Association. Harold retired from Nfld Hydro, Bishops Falls. Predeceased by his parents William and Alice Bartlett. Left with fond and loving memories are his devoted wife Joyce; daughters Cathy (Terry Weir), Fort MacMurray, AB, Kimberly (Gary Warford), King's Point and Karen Mae (Tony LeDrew, Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn sister Bessie Coish; grandsons Andrew Weir, Matthew Weir and Dean Warford and many relatives and friends. Rev. Russell Lodge conducted the funeral services at the Rattling Brook United Church and Cemetery on December 30, 2003. Pallbearers were Ward Sakman, Elwin Coish, Bryce Dawe, Bill Dawe, Ray Newman and Lester Noseworthy.

DERKSEMA, ROBIN
Passed away December 30, 2003 suddenly, Robin Derksema of Robert's Arm (formerly of the Netherlands) at the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale. He was 53 years old. Mr. Denkdema retired from Chairman of S.O.G.A. 2002, City Organization of disabled people in Almere, Netherlands. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Grand Falls-Windsor. Predeceased by mother Klara Karoline Tillman Derksema; father Martinus Derksema Sr.; brothers Martinus Derksema Jr, and Albert Fritz left to mourn are wife Patsy Rideout; sister Martha Bouwens Derksema her husband Henk and family and brother Frank Derksema his wife Gerda and family. Also Doreen Rideout, mother-in-law. President Stephens conducted the funeral services at Faith Pentecostal Church, Beaumont, Long Island. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery, Beaumont. Pallbearers were Pearl Slade, Patsy Rideout, Gilbert Burton, Wilson Slade, Doreen Rideout, Claude Oake, Leander Hewlett and Randy Critch. Honorary pallbearers were Dean Feener, Sharon Snow and Chad Caravan
