GREENHAM, SIDNEY LEIGHTON
LA SCIE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sidney Leighton Greenham, age 67, announce his passing at his residence on Friday, February 2, 2001. He was predeceased by his parents - Charles and Janet Greenham and sisters - Flossie Greenham and Mae Regular. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife - Bernice; sons - Sam (Ulah), La Scie, Darrell (Jill), Gander and David (Tayna Stuckless), Fort McMurray, AB; and daughter - Donna Randell (Warrick), La Scie. Also leaving to mourn: sisters - Cora Sacrey (Harvey), Audrey Chaulk (Ron), Marion Osmond (Robert) and Eileen Boyde (Malcolm); brothers - Harold Greenham (Margaret), Sandy Regular (Doris) and Guy Greenham (Florence); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Roger Combdon conducted the funeral service at Bethel Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, La Scie on Monday, February 5, 2001. Pallbearers were Garland Burton, David Martin, Bond Burton, Jim Burton, Jim Andrews and Norman Stuckless.

BURTON, PLEMAN FREEMAN
SOUTH BROOK

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pleman Freeman Burton of South Brook, announce his peaceful passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on February 7, 2001. Mr. Burton retired from logging in 1986. Predeceased by: his wife Phoebe; daughter Effie; brother Timothius and sisters Alfreda and Evangeline. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons - Bruce (Nancy), South Brook, George (Barbara), Kitchener, ON, Eric (Esther), South Brook, Cecil (Noella), Baie-Comeau, QC, Collin (Patricia), Gedion (Marlene) both of South Brook, Glen and Ron both of Rexdale, ON; daughters - Marie (Roy Burton), Sudbury, ON, Mamie (Eugene Newman), South Brook, Joyce, South Brook, Flossie (Paul Hancock), Roddickton, Judy (Brian Gillingham) and Anetta (Dwight Fifield) both of South Brook. Also leaving to mourn: sister Marjorie Hewlett; brother Reuben Burton; son-in-law Fred Reid (Effie - deceased), Millertown; 33 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Quinlan conducted the funeral service at the Apostolic Faith Church and Cemetery, South Brook on February 10, 2001. Pallbearers were his sons.

OSBOURNE, VICTORIA JANE HELEN -
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Victoria Osbourne, age 1, announce her passing at the Janeway Children's Hospital on Thursday, February 8, 2001. Left with fond and loving memories are: her parents - Arlene and Perry Osbourne and brother Ryan, Mount Pearl. Also leaving to mourn; grand-parents - Alonzo and Loretta Osbourne and Henry and Blanche Blanchard and great-grandmother - Esther Osbourne, all of Seal Cove, White Bay; uncles and aunts - Rennie Osbourne (Laurie), Helen Lenseisen (Marty) Rodney Blanchard (Trudy) and Stephen Blanchard; cousins - Nicholas Blanchard, Jacob and Jasmine Osbourne; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Payne conducted the funeral service at St. Swithin's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Seal Cove, White Bay on Monday, February 12, 2001. Pallbearers were uncles - Renie Osbourne, Rodney Blanchard, Stephen Blanchard and Marty Lenseisen.

REEVES, JACK (JOHN)-
Seal Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jack (John) Reeves, age 83, announce his passing at the BVPHC on Thursday, February 8, 2001. He was predeceased by; his wife Stella; brother Darius; and sisters Flossie, Annie and Cinderella. Left with fond and loving memories are: daughter Flossie Tucker (James), Grande Prairie, AB; three grandchildren; his dear and special friends, the Dorset Manor Residents and Staff; and a large circle of other relatives and special friends. Captains Brian and Betty Thomas conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, Seal Cove on Saturday, February 10, 2001. Pallbearers were Grayson Rice, Aylmer Osbourne, Jim Parsons, Gord Parsons, Ken Osbourne and Lewis Osbourne.

MARTIN, JIM GERSHOM -
Passed away February 9, 2001, peacefully, Jim Gershom Martin at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood. He was 81. Predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Left to mourn: one niece, Mrs. Baxter Lush and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Avery conducted the funeral service at Riverside United Church and Cemetery, Burlington on Sunday, February 11, 2001. Pallbearers were George Newbury, Mack Foster, Ray Foster, Fred Saunders, John Matthews and Willis Young.

HEAD, GEORGE FRANCIS
BAIE VERTE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Francis Head, age 69, announce his passing at the BVPHC on Wednesday, February 14, 2001. Predeceased by his baby son and daughter, father - Lawrence; and brothers Gordon and Archie. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife Mary, Baie Verte; daughters - Shirley Hurley (Dave), Baie Verte, Sandra Crocker (Marcel), Westlock, AB, Doris Mills (Frank), Grande Cache, AB, Christine Head, Grand Cache, AB; sons - Larry (Sherry), Brampton, ON, Garry (Margaret), Vernon, BC and Barry Head, Grand Prairie, AB. also leaving to mourn; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother Virtue Budden, Stephenville; brothers - Mike (Jenetta), Grand Cache, AB, Gerald (Phyllis), St. George's, NF, Pius (Jean), Barrie, ON; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Edward Brophy conducted the funeral mass at the St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte on Saturday, February 17, 2001. Pallbearers were Larry head, Garry Head, Barry Head, Dave Hurley, Shane Hurley and Frank Mills and the crossbearer was Kevin Jones.

HAMLYN, ELLEN
SEAL COVE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ellen Hamlyn, age 81, announce her passing at the BVPHC on Thursday, February 15, 2001. Predeceased by: children Effie and Harvey; parents James and Sarah Gavin; grandchildren Harry, Howard and Harold Giles, Sarah and Lisa Hamlyn; brothers William and Ambrose; and sister Dulcie Gavin. Left to mourn are: husband Harvey, Deer Lake; sons Wilfred (Gail Carter), Thunder Bay, ON, Obediah (Deborah), Rancho Mirage, California, Melvin (Issabelle), Thunder Bay, ON, William (Wendy), Thunder Bay, ON, Calvin (Deborah Jane), Seal Cove, Abrum (Lorraine), Thunder Bay, ON and Vincent (Monica), Thunder Bay, ON; daughters - Daphne Dicks (Ronald), Seal Cove, Loretta Giles, Seal Cove, Marilyn Mascotte (William), Fort McMurray, AB and daughter-in-law Eva Kellar, Perry Sound, ON. also leaving to mourn: sisters - Rose Curtis (Selby) and Eliza Combden (William); brother Alexander Gavin (Mildred); 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Grayson Rice, Lorne Gavin, Terry Millar, Brian Parsons, Barry Fudge and Winston May.

HULL, FRANCIS WILLIAM
SPRINGDALE

It is with great sadness that the family to the late Francis William Hull announce his passing at his home in Springdale on February 21, 2001 at the age of 83. Mr. Hull was a member of the Merchant Marine and retired from Jonas Noble and Sons as a logger. Predeceased by wife - Dorcas (nee Bungay) Newtown, Bonavista Bay; and two brothers - Bert Hull, England and Fred Hull, Halifax, NS. Left with fond and loving memories are: son Francis (Stella) of Springdale; grandchildren Robert Hull (Kathy) of Corner Brook, Joanne (Peter) Hewlett of Corner Brook and Kimberly (Craig) Wells of Lloydminister, AB. Also leaving to mourn great-grandchildren - Ryan Hewlett and Alyssa Wells. Pastor H. P. Foster conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Springdale on February 23, 2001. Pallbearers were Robert Hull, Peter Hewlett, Craig Wells, Moody Hewlett, Norman Oxford and William Paddock.

KNIGHT, LESTER G.
JACKSON'S COVE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lester G. Knight of Jackson's Cove announce his passing at the CNHC, Grand Falls-Windsor on February 23, 2001 at the age of 86. Lester had a long and busy career as an entrepreneur, engaged in several enterprises such as a taxi business at Grand Falls and Nitewell Factories at Jackson's Cove. Predeceased by sister Dorothy Wellman and brother Charlie. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife Nita (nee Pinsent); sons Dennis (Susan) of St. John's and Jim of Toronto; daughters Kathy (Pierce) Croucher of St. John's and Marjorie (Keith) Noble of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove. Also leaving to mourn; grandchildren Jason and Matthew Noble, Keenan and Wyatt Croucher, Emily and Jessica Knight, Francois Bouchard and great-granddaughter Chloe Bouchard. Rev. Marion Davis conducted the funeral service at the Jackson's Cove United Church on February 26, 2001. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were; Ross Osmond, Harry Knight, Terry Kelly, Herman Kelly, Allan Kelly and Randy Osmond.

DOYLE, JOHN (JACK) JAMES
BAIE VERTE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John (Jack) James Doyle, age 72, announce his passing at the BVPHC on Sunday, February 25, 2001. Predeceased by: his parents - William & Mary Ann Drover; brother Bill; nephews Robbie and Paul Doyle. Left with fond and loving memories are: sister - Annie, Baie Verte; brothers - Patrick (Betty), New Glasgow, NS and Michael, Baie Verte. Also leaving to mourn: nephews - Linus, Eugene, Joseph and Gerald in Baie Verte, Bill in St. John's, Ronnie, Pat Jr., John and Perry in Nova Scotia, Michael in Medicine Hat, AB; niece - Michelle in St. John's; Uncle - Tobias Drover, Baie Verte and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Edward Brophy conducted the funeral mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte on Wednesday, February 28, 2001. Pallbearers were - Linus Doyle, Gerald Doyle, Bill Doyle Joseph Doyle and Michelle Doyle and the crossbearer was Matthew Doyle.

DAWE, LILLIAN MAE
BAIE VERTE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lillian Mae Dawe, age 74, announce her passing at the CNRHC, Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday, February 28, 2001. Predeceased by parents Warrick and Elizabeth Dicks and Brother Lloyd Dicks. Left with fond and loving memories are: husband Lester, Grand Falls-Windsor; sons - Robert (Edna), Baie Verte and Clayton (Denise), Smith's Hr and daughter - Patsy (Chesley), Miles Cove. Also leaving to mourn; sisters - Stella (Rex) Pelley, King's Point and Rosalind Morgan, La Scie; brother George (Edith), La Scie; seven grandchildren, one great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Marilyn Avery conducted the funeral service at the Riverside United Church and Cemetery, Burlington on Saturday, March 3, 2001. Pallbearers were Bob Boyles, Maurice Burton, Len Rice, Clayton Hewlett, Howard Roberts and Jerry Parsons.
