PENNEY, RONALD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Garfield Penney announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on February 2, 2009 at the age of 80. Ronald retired from self-employment in Port Hope Simpson. Predeceased by his first wife, Clara Penney and son, Ronald Penney Jr. Left with fond and loving memories are, his wife, Irene; sons, Calvin Penney (Julia) of Port Hope Simpson, Stanley Penney (Mildred) of Port Hope Simpson, Austin Penney (Glynes) of Port Hope Simpson; daughters, Charlotte Penney (Gerald) of Port Hope Simpson, Sharon Kippenbuck (Bert) of Port Hope Simpson, Joyce Penney (Geoffrey) of Port Hope Simpson and step-daughter, Glenda Porter (Geoffrey) of Halifax. Also leaving to mourn: brother, Lemuel Penney; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; caregivers, Marigold and June; as well as many friends. Pastor Gillett conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church in Port Hope Simpson. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Herman Penney, Cheyann Penney, Lester Penney, Dean Russell, Barry Penney and Calvin Russell. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment, Marilyn Stuckless and Ken Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.

WEEKS, GEORGE MCKINLEY
Springdale, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George McKinley Weeks, age 84, announce his passing at his residence in Springdale, NL on Tue., Feb. 3, 2009. Predeceased by his parents - William and Mary Weeks; and parents-in-law - Edgar and Phyllis Martin. Left with fond and loving memories are: his wife - Pauline, Springdale, NL; children - Monique Weeks (Sonny Boon), Quadra Island, BC, and Billy Weeks (Lisa), Springdale, NL; granddaughter - Jenna Weeks, Springdale, NL; siblings-in-law - Wayne Martin (Judy), Corner Brook, NL, Tassie Burton (Wade), Springdale, NL, Raymond Martin, Toronto, ON, Patsy Martin, Springdale, NL; many nieces and nephews, and a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Patricia Melindy conducted the funeral service at Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL on Fri., Feb. 6, 2009. Inurnment followed at Grace United Cemetery, Springdale. The urnbearers were his children - Billy Weeks and Monique Weeks. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

LUFF, RONALD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Guy Luff announce his passing at his home in Beachside on February 5, 2009 at the age of 67. Ronald retired from mining. Predeceased by parents, Ronald Walter Luff and Elsie Luff; sisters, Jessy Butt and Marjorie Luff; and brothers, Sydney Luff and Eric Luff. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Pansy Luff and daughters, Sherry (David Brenton) of Lloydminister, Alberta, Tammy (Todd Strong) of Labrador City and Dana (Keith Meyer) of Little Bay. Also leaving to mourn, sister, Ruby Luff; sister, Cassie (Max); sister-in-law, Lola Luff; grandchildren, Holly Luff, Kyle and Brandon Strong and Lucas and Anna Meyer, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Pastor George Cole conducted the funeral service at the Bethal Pentecostal Tabernacle in Beachside on February 9, 2009. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Freeman Young, Chesley Young, Philip Verge, Ford Young, Peter Verge and Starsky Young. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

TILLEY, RAYMOND REGINALD
La Scie, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond Reginald Tilley, age 72, announce his passing at the Health Science Centre, St. John's, NL on Fri., Feb. 6, 2009. Predeceased by his wife, Viola; granddaughter, Tarrie Tilley; mother, Dora Tilley; and step-father, Wilbert Tilley; father, Wesley Rideout, and step-mother, Mae Rideout; sister, Eileen Ward; parents-in-law, Isaac and Winnifred Fowler; siblings-in-law, David Fowler, Leonard Fowler, Edward Fowler, and Dorothy Hammond; niece, Laurie-Ann Parsons; and nephew, Sheridan Tilley. The pallbearers were Larry Butt, Clyde Saunders, Warrick Randell, Willie Kerfont, Dennis Ward, and Jerry Ward. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

OSBOURNE, STELLA MYRTLE
Seal Cove, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stella Myrtle Osbourne, age 88, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre in Baie Verte, NL on Sun., Feb. 8, 2009. Predeceased by her husband, George; son-in-law, Alan Hall; parents, Josiah and Helen Osbourne; siblings, Bessie McKay, Dorothy Bannister, Priscilla Robinson, Elizabeth Moores, Lenora McKay, Blanche Osbourne, Matthias Osbourne, Aaron Osbourne, and Pearce Osbourne. Left with fond and loving memories are: her children, Shirley Janes (Angus), Deer Lake, NL; Pearl Gillingham (Clement), Seal Cove, NL; Ramona "Mona" Hall, St. John's, NL; and Judy Osbourne, Richmond Hill, ON; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Esther Osbourne, Seal Cove, NL; and Phoebe Wicks, Jackson's Arm, NL; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Jason Haggstrom conducted the funeral service at St. Swithin's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Seal Cove, NL on Thur., Feb. 12, 2009. Pallbearers were Eric Penney, Todd Penney, Perry Janes, Angus Janes, Rennie Osbourne, and Joey Osbourne. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

WHITE, IDA A.
December 3, 1907-February 8, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ida A. White announce her passing at the O'Connell Centre on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the age of 101 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughters, Veneita (Mabrey) Winsor of Springdale; Bernice (Lewis) Wiseman of Corner Brook; Maisie (Max) Barrow of Deer Lake; three sons, Clarence (Marina) White of London, ON; Eric (Dora) White of Corner Brook; and Woodrow (Rowena) White of London, ON; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and foster brother, Stanley Roberts. She was predeceased by husband, George, infant son, Ross and sister, Pearl Vincent. The funeral service took place from The Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street, Corner Brook with Major Frank Johnson officiating. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who sent cards, food and telephone calls. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered.

GILLARD, GEORGE
Springdale

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Gillard announce his passing at the Valley Vista in Springdale on February 12, 2009 at the age of 74. George retired from mining and fishing. Predeceased by parents, Henry and Carrie Gillard and brother, Leslie Gillard. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Annie; son, Kevin Gillard of Springdale and daughters, Nora (Perry Pelley) of Springdale and Doreen (Stephen Cooke) of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Also leaving to mourn: sister, Gladys Fudge and brothers Claude and Harry Gillard; grandsons, Lee Giles (Jenny), Rory Balmer, Luke Penney (Denika); granddaughter, Sabrina Fudge (Anthony); great grandson, Lucas Giles; great granddaughter, Cassidy Fudge; nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey conducted the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on February 15, 2009. Interment was at the Salvation Army cemetery. Pallbearers were grandson, Luke Pelley, son-in-law, Perry Pelley and brothers-in-law, Bill Warford, Frank Warford, Raymond King and Arch Newbury. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

BURGE, RUDOLPH
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rudolph Edmund Louis Burge announce his passing at the Harbour Lodge in Carbonear on February 13, 2009 at the age of 70. Predeceased by parents, Stella and Albert Burge. Left with fond and loving memories are: his sister, Irene Clarke (Lloyd) of Springdale; brother, Brian Stuckless of Lloydminister; nieces, Deborah Clarke Short (Stephen) of Lloydminister and Paula Payne of Springdale. Reverend Patricia Melindy conducted the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on February 16, 2009. Interment was at the United Cemetery in Springdale. Pallbearers were Irene Clarke, Lloyd Clarke, Paula Payne and Ken Goodyear. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

WISEMAN, BAXTER
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Baxter William Wiseman announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on February 15, 2009 at the age of 82. Baxter was a member of the Springdale Pentecostal Church. Left with fond and loving memories are: his wife, Nellie Wiseman; sons, Bruce Wiseman (Venetta) of Triton and Claude Wiseman (Nada) of Springdale; daughters, Pearl Tizzard (Jerry) of Springdale, Christine Burton (Wilfred) of Springdale, Maxine Spencer (Wayne) of Springdale, Stella Coombs of Springdale, Catherine Rideout (Pleaman) of Calgary, Alberta and Wands Welshman (John) of King's Point. Also leaving to mourn, brother-in-law, Ray Roberts (Jeanette); sister-in-law, Marie Pelley (Pearce); 20 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. Pastor Lindsey Foster conducted the funeral service at the Springdale Pentecostal Church in Springdale on February 19, 2009. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandson, Corey Tizzard, and sons-in-law, Wayne Spencer, Jerry Tizzard, Pleaman Rideout, Wilfred Burton and John Welshman. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

LOCKE, REGINALD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reginald Victor Locke announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on February 16, 2009 at the age of 90. Reginald Locke was a member of the Salvation Army. Predeceased by wife, Ida and daughter, Ivy. Left with fond and loving memories are his sons, Victor (Betty) of Springdale, arch (Janet) of St. John's, Bennet (Rose) of Whitefish Bay, Ontario, Kevin (Wanda) of Lewisporte, Peter (Evelyn) of Kitchener, Ontario and Austin (Shelley) of Kitchener, Ontario; daughters, Marjorie (Basil Thomas) of Brown's arm, Vivian (Frank Etsell) of Springdale, Velma (Bert Budgell) of Kitchener, Ontario, Audrey (Ross Saunders) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Rowella (Arthur Budgell) of Middle Arm and Karen (Leewood Chipp) of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Also leaving to mourn: brother, Lester Locke; sisters, Marjorie Callahan, Beryl Clarke and Greta Oxford; as well as a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on February 19, 2009. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. SHORT, ALMA "BLANCH"
Formerly of Tilt Cove, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alma "Blanch" Short, age 92, announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home, Springdale, NL on Wed., Feb. 18, 2009. Predeceased by her husband, Cecil Short; parents, Victoria and Percy Winsor; sisters - Audrey, Irene and Mona; and brothers, Harvey, Glen and Frank. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters, Shirley Severance, Sydney, NS, Hilda Gilbert, Springdale, NL, and Nancy Koerner (Al), Sherwood Park, AB; son, Butch Short (Wendy), Penticton, BC; grandchildren, Debbie Severance (Kirk Gwynn), Christine Severance (Henry Mitchell), Robert Severance, Kim Severance (Brian Decker), Paula Sheldon (Brian), Rod Gilbert, Vince Kehoe, and Rylan Short; great-grandchildren, Holly, Brandi, Cody, Dylan, Curtis and Griffin; sisters, Marie Chipp, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL and Bernice Rideout, Tilt Cove, NL; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Winsor, King's Point, NL and Evelyn Winsor, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangement were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

NEWMAN, MELVERN CYRIL
(October 17, 1931 - February 27, 2009)

Passed away peacefully at the Green Bay Health Care Centre February 27, 2009, Melvern Cyril Newman of South Brook. He was 77 years of age. Predeceased by his parents, Roland and Mary Newman; sister, Delphine Burton; brothers, Fred and Lloyd. Left to mourn are wife, Elsie Jean; sons, Wayne (Brenda) of Edmonton, AB, Baxter (Marion) of King's Point, NL, Bruce (Theresa) of Brampton, ON, Morris (Mary) of Fort McMurray, AB; daughters, Jessie (Gary) of Fort Nelson, BC, Alfreda (Morris) of Smith's Harbour, NL, Dianne (Brian) of South Brook, NL. Also leaving to mourn 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor George Hilliard assisted by Pastors Howard Head and Darren Rowe conducted the funeral service at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, South Brook, on Monday, March 2, 2009. Interment was at Pentecostal Cemetery, South Brook, NL. Pallbearers were sons, Baxter, Bruce, Wayne, Morris and grandsons, Bradley, Vaghan, Nathan Webber and Anthony Penney. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay Funeral Homes, Springdale.
