It is with great sadness that the families of the late Dorothy
Parsons announce her passing at the Springdale Hospital
in Springdale on July 8, 2008 at the age
of 87. Dorothy was a member of the Pentecostal Women’s
Ministries. Predeceased by her husband, Theodore; son, Alwin;
and daughter, Lorraine. Left with fond and loving memories
are her sons, Roland of Beaumont, Selby (Goldie) of Little
bay Islands, Tom (Paula) of Goulds and Gary (Elizabeth) of
Surrey, BC; daughters, Joy (Ross) of Mount Pearl, Geraldine
(Melvin) of St. John’s and Faye of Beaumont. Also leaving
to mourn sister, Maggie, brother, Frank (Gleason), 18
grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren as well a large circle
of family and friends. Pastor Dennis and Frank Newbury conducted
the funeral service at the Faith Pentecostal Church in Lushes
Bight on July 12, 2008. Interment was at the Pentecostal
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Desmond Fudge, Jason Fudge, Larry
Wiseman, Jennifer Parsons, Kevin Parsons and Marcel Burton.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Marilyn
Stuckless and Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
HARRIS, AUBREY EUGENE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Aubrey
Eugene Harris announce his passing at the Central
Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor
on July 17, 2008 at the age of 81. Aubrey
was a member of the Newfoundland Regiment. Predeceased
by his parents, Samuel and Alfreda Harris; sisters, Joyce
Durdle, Doris Penney, Georgina Manuel; brothers, Clifford,
Dorman and Eldon Harris. Left with fond and loving memories
are his wife, Phyllis (Blackler) of Springdale, sons, Clifford
(Geraldine) of Springdale, Lloyd (Bernice) of Sudbury,
Glenn (Kim) of Winnipeg, Scott (Jackie) of Manitoba and Kenneth
of Sudbury; daughters, Marion Foote (Clarence) of Springdale
and Judy of Manitouwadge, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn
sister, Beryl Harris of St. John’s, 11 grandchildren,
12 great-grandchildren and a large number of extended
relatives and friends. Major Gerald Lacey conducted the funeral
service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on Tuesday,
July 22, 2008. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Jason Harris, Dwight
Harris, Peggy Burton, Tonya Harris, Chris Harris and great-grandson,
Joshua Harris. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken
Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
ROSS, HERMAN OSCAR
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Herman
Oscar Ross announce his passing at the Green Bay
Health Centre in Springdale on July 18, 2008 at
the age of 80. Herman was a member of the Royal Canadian
Legion, Springdale Branch. Herman retired from his job as
a heavy equipment operator. Predeceased by parents, George
and Christina Ross and wife, Lavina. Left with fond and loving
memories are his sons, John of Alberta, Craig of British
Columbia and his daughter, Shedion of British Columbia. Also
leaving to mourn extended family, Wes and June Hibbs, Jim
(Paulette), Chad (Dana), Michelle (Kevin), Monique (Rod);
six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pastor George
Hilliard conducted the funeral service at the Calvary Pentecostal
Tabernacle in South Brook on July 21, 2008. Interment was
at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Hibbs,
Chad Hibbs, Kevin Lawless, Rod Tucker, Mike McKay and Boyce
Burton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear
and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton
Eli Rice Sr., age 73, announce his passing at the
Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor,
NL on Saturday, July 19, 2008. Predeceased
by parents, Obediah and Edith Rice; siblings, Violet Foster
(Gordon), Maude Hewitt (Harry), Marjorie Dyer, Major Mabel
Ivany, and Victor Rice (Pauline); parents-in-law, Silas
