Coombs Amelia Dorothy (Mildred) (nee Dicks)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Amelia Coombs announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home, Springdale on September 2, 2004at the age of 82. Amelia was a member of the Pentecostal Church, Beachside. Predeceased by Husband George Coombs. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Carl(Lillian), Coffee Cove, Charlie (Daisy), Beachside, Harvey, Beachside, Ross (Betty), Beachside, Gilbert (Bonnie), Lloydminster, Sask. Lewis, Beachside. Daughters Wavey Pelley (Melvin), Beachside, Shirley Norman (Malcolm), Beachside, Maisie Coombs (Richard Power), Beachside. Also leaving to mourn Sisters Irene Heath, Bessie Grant and Brothers Roy Dicks and Edward Dicks, 25 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Pastor Clayton Butt conducted the funeral services from the Pentecostal Church, Beachside on September 5, 2004. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery,Beachside. Pallbearers were Marvin Pelley, Grandson, Jody Pelley, Grandson, Bernard Pelley, Grandson, Troy Coombs, Grandson, Kyle Coombs, great-grandson and Shane Coombs, great-grandson.

COLBOURNE, REBECCA (Aunt Becky)
On September 5, 2004, at the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, Rebecca Colbourne (Aunt Becky) passed peacefully into the presence of her Savoir whom she served faithfully. Born on May 3, 1912 at Lushes Bight, Aunt Becky was a faithful member of the Robert's Arm Pentecostal Church and attended her last service one week before her passing. She resided at Robert's Arm Manor for Seniors where she will be sadly missed for her caring spirit and cheerful attitude. She will always be remembered by those who knew her for her ability to make one laugh. Husband William; son Henry and nephew Lawrence (raised as a son) predeceased Aunt Becky. Left to mourn are children Dorothy Parsons (Duncan), Springdale, Gilbert Colbourne (Marjorie), Robert's Arm, Marilyn Hewlett (Calvin), Robert's Arm and Fred Colbourne (Ruth), Robert's Arm. Also left to mourn are brother Henry Elms (Joan), Sherwsbury, England; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Wayne Noble conducted the funeral service at Word of Life Tabernacle, Robert's Arm with interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert's Arm on September 8, 2004. Pallbearers were grandsons David Parsons, Duncan Parsons Jr., Danny Parsons, Boyce Hewlett and nephews Boyce Oake and Howard Elms.

COOMBS, GILBERT HUBERT
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gilbert Hubert Coombs announce his passing at the Grey Nuns Hospital, Edmonton, AB on September 8, 2004 at the age of 51 years. Gilbert had retired from Co-operative Market Place. Predeceased by parents George and Amelia Coombs and baby sister. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Bonnie; son Mason (Trina) Lloydminister, AB; daughter Ruby (Harold), Springdale. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren Cody, Keenan, Summer, MacKenzie and Brook-Lynn; Brothers Ross (Betty), Charlie (Daisy), Carl (Lillian), Harvey and Lewis; sisters Wavey(Melvin Pelley) Shirley (Malcolm Norman) and Maisie (Richard Power). Pastor Clayton Butt conducted the funeral service at Bethel Pentecostal Church and Cemetery on September 15, 2004. Pallbearers were Walt Inder, Scott Young, Tony Young, Harold Thompson, Neil Armstrong and Eugene Young.

NEWMAN, ANNIE ROWENA
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie Rowena Newman announce her passing at St. Clares Mercy Hospital, St. John's on September 11, 2004 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by husband Lloyd (1963) Infant son Donald and Daughter Marina. Sister Ida Kelly, Brother John Dicks, Mother and Father Elias and Susannah Dicks and son in law David McKeen. Left with fond and loving memories are Sons Vince (Joan) of South Brook, Paul, South Brook and Scott, Ottawa,ON. Daughters Shirley (Frank Sturge), St. John's, Pat (Ed Keating), Goulds. Also leaving to mourn 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, Sisters Queen George, Lillian Vardy and brother Raymond Dicks and a large number of relatives and friends. Pastor Fred Randell conducted the funeral service from the Apostolic Faith Church, South Brook on September 14, 2004. Interment at the Apostolic Faith Cemetery,South Brook. Pallbearers were son Vince, Paul and Scott, grandsons Lloyd, Craig and Keith Sturge.

BURTON, EVELYN
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Evelyn Burton announce her passing at the Valley Vista Senior Citizen Home, Springdale on September 14, 2004 at the age of 83. Evelyn was a member of the Pentecostal Church, Robert's Arm. Predeceased by husband Lorenzo; granddaughter Dana Mitchell; parents William and Bertha Goudie; four brothers and four sisters. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Harvey (Valma), Hant's Hr, Don (Lorraine), Kippens and Boyce (Bonnie), Robert's Arm; daughters Joan, Robert's Arm, Marion (Malcolm Squires), St. John's, NL, Nellie (Harvey Mitchell), Brampton, ON, Mavis (Blaine Davy), Winnipeg, MB and Gaie (Ralph Mitchell), Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn brother Pastor Eric Goudie; sisters Nellie (Gus Rideout) and Ivy Rose; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and special friend Faye LeDrew. Pastor Simms conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church and Cemetery on September 17, 2004. Pallbearers were Harold Burton, Michael Burton, Moody Hewlett, Shane Mitchell, Ralph Mitchell and Lloyd Rowsell.

HURLEY, Joseph Francis
Baie Verte, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Francis Hurley, age 79, announce his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte on Wed., Sept. 22, 2004. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Jane Hurley; seven brothers, and two sisters. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Alice; children, David (Shirley), St. John's, NL;  Andrew (Mabel), LLoydminster, AB; Wilma Hennebury (Ed), Baie Verte; Melvin (Mary), Sparwood, BC; Marlene Vatcher (Lew), Burgeo; Cyril (Betty), Chris (Ella), Paul (Juanita), all of Baie Verte; Cindy Dixon (Bob), Holyrood, NL; Shawn (Tina), Lloydminster, AB; Kim (Andy Norman), Kippens, NL; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Teresa Martin (Michael Sr.), brothers, Cyril (Beatrice) and Lawrence Hurley; many nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Tom Duffenais conducted the funeral mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte on Sat. Sept. 25, 2004. Pallbearers were sons, Dave, Andy, Mel, Cyril, Chris, and Paul; and the crossbearer was son, Shawn.   Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's - Baie Verte Peninsula Funeral Home.

BENNETT, DONALD JAMES
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donald Bennett announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on September 26, 2004 at the age of 75 years. Donald retired from fishing. Predeceased by Infant children Garland and Margaurite; parents Frederick & Mary Ann;  4 brothers Gordon, Thomas, Jack and Harvey. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Marie, sons Wilson (Bernetta),  Beachside,Vincent (Jean), Red Lake ON, Jerden (Joy) of Baytona, Kevin (Jill), Harbour Grace; daughters Audrey(Andy Coombs), Little Bay and Vida (Neil Simms), Little Bay. Also leaving to mourn Grandchildren Sadie, Susan, Lewis, Sandra, Shelley, Troy, Trent, Terrance, Tony, David, Michael, Pamela, Terri-Lynn, Denise, Jared, Joshua, Jenelle, Jorja and 19 great grandchildren; sisters Gertrude Pelley, Elizabeth Little, Presilla Young and Louise Pelley. Pastor Clayton Butt conducted the Funeral service at the Bethel Pentecostal Church Beachside on September 30, 2004. Interment was at the Pentecostal cemetery Beachside. Pallbearers were: Tony, David, Michael, Jared, Joshua, Denise, Terri-Lynn and Shelley.
