GALE, RUTH ANSTEY
1931-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth Anstey Gale announces her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on September 1, 2010 at the age of 78. Predeceased by her husband Leander. Left with fond and loving memories is her son Monty (Eunice) of Toronto, ON and daughter June Marrison (George) of Chilliwack, BC. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren Jody, Nikita, Nicole, Marcus; great grandchild Endora, brother Ben Rowsell (Mary), special friends Freda and Jim Boone and family as well as other extended family and friends. Pastor Dave Mercer conducted the funeral service from the Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on September 5, 2010. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

HEWLETT, ANNIE LOUISE
1939-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie Louise Hewlett announces her passing at the Central Newfoundland Hospital in Grand Falls-Windsor on September 2, 2010 at the age of 70. Annie was a member of the Grace United Church and the May Flower Lodge 1079, Burlington. Left with fond and loving memories is her husband Calvin Hewlett; son Kenneth (Liz) of Springdale and daughter Pansy (John) of Victoria, BC. Also leaving to mourn the love and light of her life, her granddaughter Cassie; childhood friend and cousin Joycelyn and a huge circle of family and friends. Catherine Gutjahr assisted by Barbara Noble conducted the funeral service at Grace United Church in Springdale on September 6, 2010. Interment was at the United Cemetery. Pallbearers were members of the AOTS, Don Huxter, Roy Normore, Roland Penney, Roy Prole, Life Taylor and Lloyd Weir. Usher was Don Matthews. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

FOOTE, MYRTIS DAISY
Springdale, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Myrtis Daisy Foote announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, NL on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Predeceased by her husband - Chesley Foote; son - Winston Scott; parents - Thomas George & Margaret Gray; siblings - Leander Gray (Lucy), Robert Gray, Triffie Gray, Eric Gray, Maxwell Gray, Audrey May (Claude), Cyril Gray (Madeline); parents-in-law - George & Jessie Foote; siblings-in-law - Henry Foss, Alex Foote (Evelyn), William Foote, Lucy Osbourne (Maxwell), and Blanche Foote. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Josephine Haas, age 87, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Predeceased by her first husband - William Drover; second husband - Michael Haas; daughter - Phyllis Haas; biological parents - James & Liza-Ann Butler; parents who raised her - John Thomas & Josephine Drover; brother - Thomas Butler (Josephine). It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clarence Taylor Gray, age 87, announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Thursday, September 9, 2010. Predeceased by his son - Manuel Gray; grandson - Rodger Foster; son-in-law - Boyce ward; parents - John & Maude Gray; siblings - Arthur Gray (Annie), Willie Gray (Lizzie), Charlie gray (Vera), Josephine Wimbleton (George), Elizabeth Bath (Thomas), Harriet Morey (Fred), and Emma Lacey (Harry); parents-in-law - Eli & Alice Mitchell; siblings-in-law - Daisy Bartlett (Doug), Daisy Richards, Manuel Martin (Lydia), and Randolph Burton. VINCENT, SHEILA SUNSHINE
1923-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sheila Sunshine Vincent announces her passing at the Central Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on September 13, 2010 at the age of 87. Sheila was a member of the Salvation Army in Triton. Predeceased by husband, Ross, grandsons, Dwayne and Dwight Vincent, great grandson Chandler Roberts, her parents Harold and Janet Wiseman, infants Edna and Jobidiah, her siblings Wilson, Josephine, Cedella, Dexter, Lloyd, Chesley, Joy, Marie and Hope. Left with fond and loving memories is her sons: Wilbert (Beryl) of St. John's, Dexter (Jean) of Botwood, Cluney (Marjorie) of Triton, Clarence (Eva) of Triton, Landon (Wavey) of Orillia, ON, Purcie (Margaret) of Slave Lake, AB; daughters: Sadie Budgell (Roy) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Tephi Roberts (Harvey) of Triton, Capatol Roberts (Reid) of Triton, Wanda Burton (Bob) of Labrador City and Dale LeDrew (Wayne) of Labrador City. Also leaving to mourn 28 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Majors Larry and Phyllis Fudge conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Triton on September 17, 2010. Interment was at the Triton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sadie Budgell, Tephi Roberts, Capatol Roberts, Wanda Burton, Dale LeDrew and Leanne Henstridge. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

BOWERS, IVY JEAN BLANCH
Feb. 15, 1928 - Sept. 19, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ivy Jean Blanch Bowers age 82, announce her passing at her residence in Burlington on September 19, 2010. Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Lily May Newbury parents in law, Stanley and Susan Bowers; daughter, Marion Norman; brother, Johney Newbury; infant Great-Grandson, Zachary Dieter; Brother-in-Law, Allan Bowers, and Sister-in-law, Agnes Lush. Left with fond and loving memories are Husband, Albert Bowers; Daughter, Olive Lush (George); Son, Geddis Bowers (Jean); Son-in-law, Neil Norman; Grandchildren, Jamie and Rudy Norman, Joy Janes (Craig), Winston Lush (Brenda), Joan Lush, Kathy Dieter (Shane), Cassie Parsons (Jason); Great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Allison Lush, Megan and Matthew Dieter, Tyler and April Parsons; Sisters-in-law, Cora Newbury, Sophie Flight, Rita Elliott, Bessie Kelly, Joan Burton, Maude Saunders, Blanche Kelly, Evelyn Bowers, and a large circle of other family and friends. Pastor Darren Rowe, assisted by Pastor Marvin Burton and Pastor Geoffrey Slade, conducted the funeral services at Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington on September 22, 2010. Pallbearers were: Ralph Bowers, Bryce Burton, Larry Kelly, Harvey Newbury, Mervin Saunders, and Willis Young. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

YOUNG (TAYLOR), MALVINY LEONA
1930-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Malviny Leona Young announces her passing after a long battle with cancer on September 20, 2010 at the CNRHCC in Grand Falls-Windsor; at the age of 80 in the presence of her family. Malviny and husband Roy resided in Beachside until December 2009, when they moved to Grand Falls-Windsor to be closer to their only son Craig and his family. Unfortunately Malviny became ill and had to go to St. John's for radiation treatment where she stayed with her sister Ruby. On June 28 she had surgery and did not make it out of the hospital. Leaving to mourn are her husband of 51 years, Roy, son Craig, wife Diane, granddaughters Alexandra and Allison, sister Ruby, half-sisters Viletta, Rhona, Mitchie, Helen; half-brothers; Otto, Ford, Baxter, Angus (Jr.); as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Mark O'Driscoll, Dr. Lynette Powell and Dr. Alfred Goodfellow and the nursing staff at 2A, 3A and 3B at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Ken Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes in Grand Falls-Windsor and Springdale. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Resting at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Beachside on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held from Bethel Pentecostal Church at Beachside on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 2:00p.m. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Beachside.

HOBBS, PHALMA
It is with great sadness that the family of Phalma Vera Hobbs announce her passing on September 24, at age 75. Phalma was predeceased by her husband, Hayward, infant son Donald, son Morris, daughter-in-law Mildred, sisters Bertha Warr and Shirley Wiseman, brother Ivan Saunders, sister-in-law Marion Hancock, brother-in-law Gordon Hobbs and great-granddaughter Ava Armstrong. Left with fond and loving memories are children: James Hobbs (Elizabeth), St. John's, NL; Wanda Hobbs (Jan Van Eldert) Regina, SK; Patricia Penny (Jim) Thompson, MB; Richard Hobbs (Springdale); Glenda Colbourne (Bruce) Esterhazy, SK; Perry Hobbs (Angela) Thompson, MB; Carol Hobbs (Sean Huxter) Norwood, MA; special grandson Danny Armstrong; brother Rex Saunders (Rose); sister Lovelette Borden (George); special friend Madeline Reid, eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Service was held at Springdale Pentecostal Church on Monday, September 27 at 2 p.m., with interment at the Springdale Community Cemetery. Floral tributes are gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.

AUSTIN, ERNEST JAMES
January 4, 1933 - September 26, 2010
It is with great sadness, that the family of the late Ernest Austin of King's Point announce his passing on September 26, 2010, at the age of 77. He was born in Bishop's Falls and married Blanche Hewlett of Robert's Arm on October 10, 1959. Together they raised six children. He was predeceased by parents James and Elizabeth Austin as well as his brother Freeman. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Blanche; sons David (June), Stewart (Denita); daughters Hilda (Collen), Valerie (Dwayne), Sonya (Bradley), Christine (Joseph); sister Leah Budgell; brothers Sterling and Alfred Austin; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren as well as a number of nephews and nieces. The funeral service was held on September 30, 2010 at King of Kings Pentecostal Church, King's Point with Pastor Shane Simms officiating, assisted by Pastor Howard Head. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, King's Point. Pallbearers were grandsons Lucas Campbell, Adam Saunders, Jamie, Jeremy, Justin and Steven Austin. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

NOFTALL, MARY ELIZABETH "BETH"

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Noftall, age 75, announce her sudden passing on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Fleur de Lys, NL, while out enjoying her after-dinner walk. Predeceased by her infant son - Ronnie; parents - William & Elizabeth Lewis; siblings - Donald Lewis, Lucy Lewis (Joseph), and Dennis Lewis; parents-in-law - Robert & Josephine Noftall; siblings-in-law - Sadie Shelley, Henry Noftall, Mary Porter (Emmons), Bessie Regular (Roy), Ambrose Mills, Howard Dollimont, Carrie Lewis, and Ronald Dempsey. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, best friend & constant companion - Michael "Mick" Noftall, Fleur de Lys, NL; children - Terrance Noftall (Sheila), Kamloops, BC, Michael Noftall (Lachelle), Fredericton, NB, Gene Noftall (Yvonne Reddick), Kamloops, BC, Betty-Lee Tobin (Ed), Prince George, BC, Chris Noftall (Jayne), and Sharon Noftall-Bennett (Gary Bennett), both of Corner Brook, NL, Rod Noftall (Denise), St. John's, NL, and Lisa Fitzgerald (Gary), Hinton, AB; grandchildren - Meghan & Charles Noftall; Sarah & Luke Noftall; Amanda & Kyle Noftall and Tanya Dyer; Justin & Shawna-Lee Tobin; Christy & Melissa Noftall; Christopher Bennett, Katie & Emma Noftall, Abigail & Brianna Fitzgerald; siblings - Josephine Mills, Jenny Dollimont, Jack Lewis (Agnes), Bridget Traverse (Donald), George Lewis (Lizzie), Bill Lewis, Frank Lewis (Mary), Florence Dempsey, Doreen Shea (Jim), and Edna Troy (Felix); siblings-in-law - Bill Noftall (Leone), Kathleen Walsh (Gerard), Lovette Lewis, and Tom Shelley; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Joseph Tebsis conducted the funeral mass at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Fleur de Lys, on Saturday, October 2, 2010. Pallbearers were sons - Terrance Noftall, Michael Noftall, Gene Noftall, Chris Noftall, and Rod Noftall, and sons-in-law - Gary Bennett and Gary Fitzgerald, the honourary pallbearer was son-in-law - Ed Tobin, and the crossbearers were grandsons - Luke Noftall and Christopher Bennett. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

BURTON, RAYMOND BRUCE
1935-2010
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Bruce Burton, age 75 at St. John's Health Science Centre on Sept 30, 2010. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Ruth Burton (Hillier), sons Terry (Bonnie), Glen (Anne), Aubrey (Laurie), Lorne (Sheila), and daughter, Dianne (Paul)m 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and many friends. Bruce was born in Port Anson, NL on June 3, 1935 and moved to Robert's Arm in 1964. He worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic for most of his life. When he retired from the mine in Leaf Rapids, he moved back home to Robert's Arm. He enjoyed many hours in the woods catching rabbits, hunting and cutting wood. He adored his family, especially the little grandkids. He was a strong, hard working, honest and loyal husband and father. Although often hidden, he had a heart of gold. A funeral service was held in his memory on Monday, October 4, 2010 at Robert's Arm United Church. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke.
And like you always said Dad "See you next fall".
