Samuel James - Passed peacefully away on January 7th, 1948 at Burnt Head, Samuel James Bishop leaving to mourn one daughter Rita, and three sons, Neil, Augustus and Cecil.

Doug - Accidentally drowned at Knob Lake, Labrador, Sept.,15, J.D. (Doug) Bishop, son of Neil and Barbara Bishop. Leaving to mourn besides his parents, one sister Barbara. Funeral notice later. Funeral from 31 Gambier Street at 2p.m. today (18th) to St. Thomas' Church.

1963

BISHOP

Doug -September 16th, 1963 Douglas Bishop a resident of St. John's drowned at Labrador, Sunday. He was fishing with a companion Anderson Hepson in a canoe on an unnamed river at Border Air Strip, 150 miles east of Shefferville. The canoe plunged over rapids estimated between 75 and 100 feet high. Hepson managed to swim to shore but Bishop drowned. His body was later recovered. He was an employee of Canadian Marconi.

Interment Riverside Cemetery, Weston.

Barbara E - Passed peacefully away on Saturday, March 5th, 1966, Barbara E., wife of Neil Bishop, 31 Gambier St. Leaving to mourn her husband; daughter Barbara, two sisters, Gertrude (Mrs. Charles Coffin) at St. John's and Pearl (Mrs. Basil Daniels) at Montreal; one brother John C. Resting at the Turner and Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy.10 at Q.E.W.) from 7 p.m. Saturday.  Funeral Service 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.  Interment Riverside Cemetery.

Samuel (1979) - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, September 7th, Samuel Bishop of Foxtrap, in his 80th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Fanny; seven daughters: Hazel, (Mrs. Wilson Eason) at Long Pond; Phyllis (Mrs. Jack Crickett) of St. John's; Flora, (Mrs. Albert Butler), of Foxtrap; Fanny, (Mrs. Joe Fagan) of Foxtrap; Amy, (Mrs. Eli Rideout) of Foxtrap; Yvonne, (Mrs. Jim Furor) at Holyrood and Dallas at home; Seven sons: Charlie at Gander; Harvey at Calgary; Ellis at Seal Cove; Wilson, Sam, Arnold at Foxtrap;  Ralphy at home; two Step-sons: Ron at Makinsons and Gordon at home; a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a large circle of relat-ives and friends. Ethel May - Passed peacefully away at S.A. Glenbrook Lodge on Monday, January 8th, 1979, Ethel May (nee Simms),  in her 87ths year, wife of the late ex-police sargeant Walter Dawe, formerly of 2 Coleman Place. She leaves to mourn one daughter Joyce (Mrs. Brian McGrath) at St. John's;  five sons, Wilfred and John at St. John's, Harvey at Halifax, Cyril at Edinburgh, Scotland and Gordon at Pennsylvannia; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother Alex Simms at St. Anthony; and one sister Mrs. Bess Greenwood at Massachusetts. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel until 12 noon Wednesday. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, January 10th at 2p.m. from the Anglican Cathedral. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.

Issac F. 1979 DAWE - Passed peacefully away November 14 at his son's residence 15 Brookfield Road, Mr. Issac F. Dawe, age 89.  Leaving to mourn on daughter, Margerie (Mrs. Tom Jefford), Long Pond; four sons, Albert at Seal Cove, Edgar..Graham, Brookfield Rd and Frank in Toronto; 24 granchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Passed peacefully away after a short illness, December 25th, 1979 at the Health Sciences Complex, Mrs. Emma J. Allan Taylor 1979 TAYLOR - Passed away at the General Hospital on January 4th, Allan Taylor of Kelligrews, aged 75. Leaving to mourn his wife Olive; five sons: Eric at Foxtrap, Mervyl at Kelligrews, Leonard at Griquet, St. Anthony, and Calvin at Labrador City; two daughters: (Zita) Mrs. Gilbert Butler) Long Pond, Sandra (Mrs. Frank Tilley) Kelligrews; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters: Mrs. Christine Seaward, Deerlake, and Mrs. Winnie Shepherd, B.C. Other relatives and friends. Resting at Hickey's Funeral Home, Kelligrews. Stanley - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March, 24, 1989 of Old Shop, Trinity Bay, aged 59 years. Left to mourn their sad loss with fond and loving memories his loving wife Elizabeth (nee Day); one daughter Donna and husband Donald Bishop of Old Shop; one son Chris and wife Joanne of Blaketown, Trinity Bay; two loving grandchildren: Michael and Mark; one sister Clara Taylor of Cupids; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Harold Bertram - Passed away suddenly at his late residence at Topsail on Saturday June 10, 1989, in his 79th year. Dawe of Bay Roberts, aged 82 years.  Predeceased by his first wife Marcella, 1963; seond wife Myrtle, 1994 and sister Mimi Badcock, 1995.  Leaving to mourn daughters:  Eileen, husband John Holmes, Shearstown and Shirley, husband Roland Parsons, Bay Roberts;  six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother George Dawe, Saugus, Mass.;  half-sisters:  Alice Bendall, Clarke's Beach and Marion Dawe, Makinsons; step-sisters:  Catherine Parsons, Foxtrap and Eva Bradbury, Shearstown; and remembered by other relatives and friends.  Resting at Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts.  Visiting hours 10-12, 2-5 and 7-10p.m.  Funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 2 o'clock p.m. to the Salvation Army Citadel, Bay Roberts.  Interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Coley's Point.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Funds. - Ever Remembered, Ever Loved.

HARVEY

Bruce - Passed away at the Health Sciences Center June 22nd, 1997.  Predeceased by his mother Ada Harvey.  Leaving to mourn his loving wife Marilyn, daughter Cathy;  and son Colin; one grandson Justin;  and son-in-law Audrey Smith;  his father Frank Harvey; and two brothers:  David and Calvin Harvey.  Resting at Carnell's Funers Home, 329 Freshwater Rd.  Visitation will be held Monday 2-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday 10a.m.-10p.m., Wednesday 10a.m.-10p.m.  Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 1997 at the United Church, Bay Roberts at 2p.m.  Interment to follow at the United Cemetery.  Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the Heart Foundation
