MALONEY, Edward
Passed suddenly away at Sweet Bay on July 31, 2001 Edward Maloney of Sweet Bay in his 80th year. Predeceased by wife Anastasia, parents James and Mary Maloney and three brothers John, Pierce and Patrick. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories Jane Dooley and Elizabeth (Gerald) Dooley; brother James Malone (Mary Ellen); brother-in-law Cyril and Kevin Dooley; a large number of nieces and nephews plus a large circle of other family and friends. Father Brian Colbert officiated funeral service from Roman Catholic Church, Sweet Bay on August 03, 2001, with interment following at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Sweet Bay. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Blundon’s Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour.

MESH, Margaret Rose
Passed away suddenly at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on July 27, 2001 Margaret Rose Mesh of Charleston in her 64th year. Predeceased by parents Elizabeth and Llewlyn Fry; sister Martha Pike and brother Charles Fry. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories husband Gurshan; son (George) of Southern Bay; grandchildren Jonathan, Christopher, Joshua Mesh and Brandon Furlong; sisters Louise (Rose) Pike, Violet (Harold Fry), Ethel Penney, Vera (Gerald) Penney, Lillian (Howard) Squires, Minnie Holloway and Florence Short; brother Richard Fry; Plus a large circle of other family and friends. Rev. Gillam officiated funeral service from St. Thomas Anglican Church, Charleston held July 30 2001, with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Charleston. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundon’s Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour.

HODDER, Patricia
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, August 03, 2001, Patricia Hodder of Trinity East in her 81st year. Predeceased by husband Arthur Francis Hodder (1998). Left with fond and loving memories daughter Mildred Watton (Stanley) of Trinity East; Son Mackenzie of Spandard’s Bay; two grandchildren Glen F. Hodder of Etobicoke, ON, and Carolann Hodder of Spandard’s Bay; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Port Rexton. Funeral took place Monday, August 06, 2001 at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Trinity East. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Trinity East. In her memory a memorial fund to St. Andrew’s Church.

CHURCHILL, Margaret M.
Passed suddenly away at the G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, August 06 2001, Margaret M. Churchill of Hillview in her 81st year. Predeceased by parents James and Jessie Cumming; and brother James. Left with fond and loving memories husband Kenneth Sr. of 58 years; daughter Roma Jackman (Harvey) of Hillview; son Kenneth (Barbara) of Hillview; sister Jean Mackay (Andrew) of Tomatin, Scotland; grandchildren Michelle of Ambelst, NS, Melanie Legge (Dion) of St. John’s, Natasha of Gander and Gregory of Wolfville, NS; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains rested at St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church, Hillview. Funeral took place Tuesday, August 07, 2001, at St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church, Hillview. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Hillview. In her memory a memorial fund to St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church, Hillview.

MUGFORD, Levi
Passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander Friday, August 03 2001, Levi Mugford of Port Blandford, age 69 years. Leaving to mourn wife Dorothy; sons Scott (Christine) and Tony (Louise); one grand son Evan from St. John’s (girlfriend Gail); sister Mary Harris from Lewisporte; step-brother John (Johnny) Parsons from Port Blandford; step-sister Theresa Higgins from Grand Falls, Windsor; a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at United Church, Port Blandford, from where the funeral took place on Sunday, August 05 at 2:30 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Vardy’s Funeral Home, Random Island.

BARTLETT, Nellie Mae
Passed away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Sunday, July 29, 2001, after a lengthy illness, Nellie Bartlett in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband Max. She leaves to mourn daughter Pat (Cal) Cole at Clarenville; son Wesley (Shirley) at Newman’s Cove; grandchildren Craig (Donna) Cole at Clarenville, Todd (Jill) Cole at Shoal Harbour, Blair and Ian at Newman’s Cove; great-grandchildren Jordyn and Bradley at Clarenville and Maggie at Shoal Harbour; brother Ben (Ruby) Elliott at Newman’s Cove; brother-in-law Clyde (Bessie) Bartlett at Catalina; sister-in-law Maxine (Bob) Sweetland at Bonavista; and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral services were held at Anglican Church and Cemetery, Newman’s Cove on Wednesday August 01, 2001.

MAHONEY, Agatha
Passed peacefully away at Bonavista Health Care Centre on Saturday, August 04 2001, Agatha Mahoney of Stock Cove in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband Patrick (1998). Leaving to mourn with many happy memories sons Victor (Shirley) at Stock Cove, Gus (Edna) at Corner Brook and Kevin (Veronica) at St. John’s; six grandchildren Florie Hewitt, Candace O’Regan, Sherri Hoskins, Owen, Trevor and Brooks Mahoney; three great-grandchildren Alison and Brent Hewitt and Jace O’Regan; and a number of other relatives and friends. Remains rested at the Community Centre, Stock Cove. Funeral took place Tuesday August 07, 2001, from St. Peter and Paul RC Church, King’s Cove.

LAITE, Theodosia
Passed away at Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on July 31, 2001 Theodosia Laite of Trinity, Trinity Bay, age 91 years. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Louis of 70 years; son Jim (Lorraine); grandsons Roger (Elaine) and Raymond (Beverley); granddaughter Bev; great-granddaughters Brittany and Alicia; sister-in-law, Effie Brown of New Brunswick, Mary Laite of St. John’s, and Annabelle Kelly of Clarke’s Beach; also many nieces and nephews. Rested at Mortuary Chapel, Trinity. Funeral took place Friday, August 03, 2001, from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Trinity. Flowers were gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the St Paul’s Anglican Church, Trinity. Arrangements entrusted to Vardy’s Funeral Home, Random Island.

Passed away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, August 10, 2001, George Allen of Clarenville, aged 77 years. Predeceased by brother Melvin (2000) and sister Amelia (1981). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Pearl of 57 years; daughter Gloria Allen, St. John’s and Linda Friesen, Clarenville; sons Daniel (Bonnie) of Clarenville, Robert (Lisa) of North Bay, ON, and Terence (Cathy) of Pefferlaw, ON; brothers William of St. John’s and Nelson of British Columbia; A number of grandchildren and a circle of relatives and friends. Rested Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held Monday, August 13, 2001, from Memorial United Church, Clarenville, with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, August 09, 2001, Violet Adams of Shoal Harbour in her 78th year. Predeceased by her husband Gordon and parents Simon and Ethel Ryan. Left with fond and loving memories son Lyle (Diane), grandchildren Shelley (Steve) and Kirk; brother Colin Ryan (Minnie), sister Marie Hunt (Fred) and a number of relatives and friends. Remains rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place Sunday, August, 12, 2001, at Shoal Harbour United Church, Shoal Harbour. Interment at United Church Cemetery, Shoal Harbour.

Passed away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, August 10, 2001, Winston Churchill (Druggist) of Clarenville, aged 61 years. Predeceased by his mother Mary (1992). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Rosalind of 35 years; daughters Wendy (Dennis Chaulk) of Charlottetown and Tracy (Lloyd Hann) of Calgary, Alberta; son Steven, Clarenville; father William, Clarenville; sisters Olive (Colin Chisholm) of Antigonish, NS and Linda (Don Baird) of Clarenville; brother Fred (Helen) of Clarenville; grandchildren Gordon and Ryan; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. REID, Charles
Passed away at the Hoyles Escaoni in St. John’s on Saturday August 18, 2001, William Charles Reid of Shoal Harbour in his 91st year. Predeceased by wife Ella (2000), brother Ken (1997). Left with fond and loving memories daughters Marjorie Tiller of St. John’s, Barbara (Oliver Vardy) of Shoal Harbour; son Rayfield (Jean) of Shoal Harbour; sisters Alice Smith of Aspen Brook, Random Island, Sadie (Wilfred Thomas) of St. John’s, Gladys (Malcolm Kendell) of Corner Brook; sister-in-law Molly Reid of Buchans; brothers Fred (Jean), Ernest (Marina) both of Weybridge; seven grandchildren Beverley, Robert, Andy, Shawn, Gary, Jeff, Trudy; eight great-grandchildren Dominic, Nicole, Megan, Amber, Troy, Brandon, Chelsea, Jenny; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral took place Aug 20, 2001 at the United Church, Weybridge with interment at the United Cemetery, Weybridge. In his memory flowers accepted or a memorial fund to the Central United Church, Weybridge or the Alzheimer Society.
