Ada Florence Alice Smith
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ada Florence Alice Smith, age 78, from Chance Cove at St. Claire's Hospital, St. John's, on July 27, 2010. Predeceased by parents, William and Emma Smith, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Gerald (Imelda) and Gary (Vangie); sisters Una, Mary and Venus; brother Fredrick; four grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Rested at the Salvation Army, Chance Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Major Mary Smith, assisted by Major Jacob Smith, took place on Friday, July 30, 2010 with interment following. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island. FAMILY CARING FOR FAMILY

Dorett Adams
Passed peacefully away at Health Science Centre in St. John's on July 28, 2010, Dorett Adams of Outer Cove, formerly of Shoal Harbour, aged 48 years. Predeceased by her father Archibald Penney; sisters Lorraine Greening and Catherine George. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Greg of 30 years; daughters Laurie (Perry White), Rosalie (Darrell Legge) and Katherine; mother Dove Penney; sisters Rosalind (Dave), Jocelyn, Patricia (Larry), Brenda and Georgina (Shawn); brothers Lorne (Alma) and Randy (Audrey); four grandchildren Ashley, Gregory Jr., Gracey, and Rebecca; parents-in-law Lindsay & Daphne Adams; sisters-in-law Cindy & Jeanie, brother-in-law Jamie (Gail), many nieces and nephews, along with a close circle of relatives & friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from the United Church, Milton-George's Brook with interment at Milton-George's Brook Cemetery. In her memory donations may be made to VHL Family Alliance.

Sophie M.F. Oldford (Fowlow)
Passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Dr. Albert O'Mahony Manor, Clarenville, formerly of Musgravetown, after a lengthy illness and at the age of one day past her 95th birthday. She was the youngest and last family member of Charles and Suzanna Fowlow of Trinity East. Predeceased by husband Frank, son-in-law Austin Norris, grandson Derek Norris, and brothers Robert, Cecil & Edgar Fowlow, sisters Josephine Tribley, Jean Day, and Amy Schnoor. Leaving to mourn daughter Jean Norris, sons Rev. Robert Oldford (Fannie) and Bruce Oldford (Marilyn); grandchildren Dallas Reddy (Philip); Darryl Norris (Brenda); Wade Oldford (Sharon); Colette Short (Rodney); Brian Oldford (Vicki); and Nancy Oldford; 5 great grand-children; one sister-in-law Myra Oldford, nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge, funeral service was from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown on Monday, August 02 at 2:00 PM. Internment at the United Church cemetery, Musgravetown. Flowers gratefully declined; donations to her memory may be made to Heritage United Church, Musgravetown or the charity of ones choice.

April 9, 1917- August 1, 2010
- Passed away suddenly on August 1, 2010, Levi Loder of North Harbour, Placentia Bay, aged 93 years. Predeceased by son Ronald. Leaving behind with fond and loving memories are his wife, Ruby of 66 years, sons, Leland (Yvonne); Edmund (Sandra); Rodney (Lori); daughter, Phyllis Eddy (Melvin), 8 grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Bethel United Church, North Harbour from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Don Stiles and assisted by Rev. Jim Pollett, took place on August 4, 2010 at 2 pm. with interment following. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory can be made to Bethel United Church, North Harbour or Ronald McDonald House. Passed away suddenly on July 29, 2010 in her 72nd year. Left to mourn are her husband, Lloyd of 51 years; daughter, Linda (Garry Bishop); sons, Brian (Vanette) and Kirk (Valerie Jessom); four brothers, Douglas (Blanche), Llewellyn (Beaulah), Jack (Elaine), Alonzo (Linda); seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, Minnie Penney of Canning's Cove, aged 81 years. Predeceased by husband Enos; two sisters and one brother. Left with fond and loving memories her sons Alex (Debbie), Albert (Bev), Eric (Pheama), Boyd (Dana) and Nathan (Dora); ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren due to arrive in December; brother Martin Chatman (Viola) and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at St. John The Divine Anglican Church, Canning's Cove. Funeral service took place on Friday, August 6, 2010 at St. John The Divine Anglican Church with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Canning's Cove.

Irene H Dalton
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, August 5, 2010, Irene Dalton of Harcourt, aged 91 years. Predeceased by husband James; parents Martin and Lucy Ivany (Marsh); brothers Lewis Ivany and Harold Wilfred Ivany and sister Hilda Morris. Left with fond and loving memories her daughter Glenys Dalton; sisters Muriel Bowring and Eleanor Stone; brother Wilfred Ivany (Ada); sisters-in-law Blanche Dalton and Donna Ivany; brother-in-law Aaron Morris and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the United Church, Harcourt with interment at United Cemetery, Harcourt. James Flaherty
FLAHERTY, JAMES (May 14, 1931-August 7, 2010)
- It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James on Friday, August 6 at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by parents, Festus and Mary Flaherty; sister, Mary O'Malley; and brother, Joseph Flaherty. Leaving to mourn with fond memories beloved wife Edna (nee Wiseman); daughters Pauline (John) and Tina; son, Michael; grandchildren Andrew, Katherine and Sarah; sisters Margaret, Veronica (Marty), Ellen (Pat), Bridget and Kathleen (Festus); brother Patrick (Marie), Michael (Mary), Daniel (Vera) and Christie; sister-in-law Merida; brothers-in-law Art, Vernon (Nettie), Fred (Leah), Eugene (Mary), Morley (Linda) and a large circle of family and friends. James was born in Mannin, County Galway, Ireland, and lived in England and the United States before settling permanently in Canada in the late fifties, and eventually in Newfoundland in 1964. Visitation at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 9 at 2 p.m. from Our Lady of Fatima Church, Clarenville. Interment to follow at Shoal Harbour United Church Cemetery, Palmer's Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Beleinda Alfreda Stringer
Passed away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on August 11, 2010, Beleinda Alfreda Stringer, age 92, resident of Miraquinn Hilltop Manor, Hickman's Harbour, formerly from Hodge's Cove. Predeceased by parents, Joseph and Eliza Lambert, husband, Eliab,sons, Stephen and Hedley. Left with fond and loving memories are her children, Florence Stringer (Edgar), Eliza Stanley (Fabien) and Wayne, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Andrews United Church, Hodge's Cove from where the funeral service took place on Saturday, 2 pm with interment following. Shirley Billard
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital on August 12, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn husband Ron; daughter Ann (Gord Noseworthy); granddaughter Jennifer; mother Jessie Alley (Roy) and brother Donald Gillam (Una). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. G B Cross Hospital Auxiliary. Service took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Clarenville on Monday, August 16, 2010.

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center in St. John's on Friday, August 13th, 2010 Gordon Wells of Lethbridge aged 74 years. Predeceased by his parents Hubert Wells and Ethel Hiscock, brothers; George and Clyde; son Sherman; wife Betty Drover and brother-in-law Fred Skiffington. Left with fond and loving memories his children Boyd Wells (Darlene) of Lethbridge, Robert of Little Hearts Ease, Roxanne Hiscock (Max)of Little Hearts Ease and Cavelle Cuff (Gar)of Bloomfield, brothers; Lloyd Wells (Daphne) of Shoal Harbour, Larry Wells (Eileen) of Bloomfield, sisters; Ann Skiffington of Grand Falls-Windsor and Shirley Holloway (Lloyd) of Bloomfield, grandchildren; Calvin, Maxine, Cassandra, Griffin, Kobe; sisters in law Minnie and Linda Wells, and a large number of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on Sunday, August 8, 2010, Sarah Connors of Tickle Cove, aged 93 years. Predeceased by husband Michael Austin Connors, parents Samuel and Elizabeth Moss, brothers Thomas, Anthony, Ambrose and James; sisters Margaret Ann and Katherine; grandson Gregory and parents-in-law John and Elizabeth Connors. It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Faith Brenda Jane Greening announces her passing on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at the age of seven years.She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her parents Rhoda Pardy and Michael Greening of Musgravetown, her little brother: Ryan; Grandmothers: Emmaline Greening (Clyde King) of Musgravetown and Brenda Pardy of Port Blandford; Uncles: Jeffery Greening and wife April, Richard Greening and wife Melissa, Roland Pardy and wife Tina; Aunt Kelley Penney and husband Ken; first cousins: Nadine, Cody, Amy, Gavin, Jagger and Jared plus a large circle of other family and friends.
