Passed away at the Dr.G.B.Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on October 20, 2011, Pearce Gordon Skiffington, age 83, from Musgravetown. Predeceased by parents Bowman and Sarah Ann Skiffington; son Stephen; six brothers and two sisters. Leaving to mourn are his loving wife Jessie; sons Gordon, Larry (Valerie), Craig (Bernadine); daughter Trudy (Rakesh); brother Lesley, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral Service took place at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown on October 23, 2011 with internment following.

Teena Drodge
Passed on: November 25th, 2011

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, November 25, 2011, Teena Drodge, aged 36 years of Clarenville. Left with fond and loving memories are her son, Brandon; parents Calvin & Jane Drodge; grandmother Lila White; sisters Maxine (Ernest) Vaters, Tammy (Matthew) Green; brother Cordell; sister in law Dorothy as well as nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles along with other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville with interment to follow at the Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville.

Passed peacefully away in his home in Caplin Cove on Friday, December 9, 2011, William Drodge aged 84 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Rachel of 59 years, daughter Nina Woodfine (Bernard); sons Glen (Barbara), Clyde (Christine), Carl (Elsie), Keith (Jackie); 13 grandchildren; sister Annie Squires and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Hearts Ease. Funeral service was held on Monday, December 12, 2011 from Wesley United Church, Caplin Cove with interment at the United Cemetery, Caplin Cove. In his memory donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Wesley United Church, Caplin Cove.

Clarice White
passed peacefully away the morning of December 8, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family at the Dr. L. A. Miller Centre in St. John's, NL. Clarice (Ivany) White was born to Charles and Gladys Ivany in Shoal Harbour, NL. She met her life-long partner and husband, Raymond White, in Princeton, NL after her father was stationed there with the railway. In 1956 they married and together raised five children and were special grandparents to seven grandchildren. Clarice devoted her life to raising her children and being a special part of her grandchildren's lives. Clarice was a member of the United Church and an active member for many years with the United Church Women. Clarice will forever be remembered as a caring mom who always brought her family so much happiness through all the ways she gave of herself and made the home a place of comfort and love. In the last year, the determination, strength, and wit she showed in the face of illness will forever be an inspiration to all those who loved her. Memories of her will always be a special gift. Clarice is predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond White and parents Charles and Gladys Ivany. Left to mourn are her children Don (Gay), Glenda (Morley), Barry (Carol), Karen (Aubrey), and Scott (Gui). Grandchildren Steven and Sara, Allison, Alexander, and James, Russell and Benjamin. Brothers, Alonzo (Isabelle), Herman, Lloyd, Boyd (Mary), and Orrin (Ruby), sister, Anetha, and sister-in-law, Emily. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home in Lethbridge, NL. A celebration of Clarice's life took place at the United Church in Lethbridge, NL on Sunday, December 11, 2011 with interment at the United Church Cemetery in Princeton, NL. Donations in her memory may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, St. John's.

Mary Blanch Drodge (Smith)

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, Mary Blanch Drodge (Smith) of Clarenville, aged 88 years. Predeceased by husband Leander Drodge; ex-husband Wesley Smith; son Patrick Smith; granddaughter Carolyn Toms and sister Kay Bailey. Left with fond and loving memories her children Mary Bale, Jean Smith, Madonna Clouter (Austin), Catherine Toms, Angela Grant (Angus), Wayne Smith (Janice), Wesley Smith (Joyce) and Dan Smith; step-daughters Winnie Smith (Earl), Lorraine Sansford (Ted) and Linda Peddle (Jerome); step-sons Tony Drodge (Jen) and Ken Drodge (Theresa); 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral mass held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Clarenville with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville.

Mabel Cavell Hancock

Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center in St. John's on Friday, December 9, 2011, Cavell Hancock of Jamestown, aged 76 years. Predeceased by her husband Fred; sister, Blanche Hancock; brother, Jack Maidment. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons, Henry (Theresa), Boyd (Linda), Lloyd; one grandson, Kenny; sister Jane Fifield (Maxwell); brothers Harry (Pauline), Ches (Jean) and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from the Salvation Army Church, Portland with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Portland. In her memory donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

RAYMOND, Anna Roberta "Bobby"
- 89, Villa Saint Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, Nova Scotia, and formerly of Digby, Nova Scotia, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011. Born October 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Harriet Ditmars (Rice). She was predeceased by her husband, Seymour Raymond. Her interests included sewing, knitting, curling, cooking, travelling, shopping and visiting friends and family. She loved nature. Birds and flowers were two of her favourites. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Edwin) Nickerson, Yarmouth; a son, Bruce (Majalla) Raymond, Port Blandford, Newfoundland; sister, Pauline (Willis) Robar; nephew, Michael Robar, Dartmouth; brother-in-law, Charles Hersey; niece, Gail Hersey, Digby; grandchildren, Andrea, Sara Jane, Paul and Brandy; great grandchildren, Joshua, Alexandra, Maria, Olivia, Thomas Bruce, Evelyn and Kya. As well as family and friends, she will be missed by Donnie Michaels. There was no visitation. A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 15 at 10 a.m. at H. M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Yarmouth, where a reception followed. Flowers were welcome. Donations may be made to Villa Saint Joseph-du-Lac Foundation. A private internment took place in Old Saint Edward's Cemetery, Clementsport, NS.

Herbert George Hounsell

Passed peacefully away on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the age of 73 yrs surrounded by his family in St. John's, Newfoundland. Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Gwendolyn Hounsell. First wife Mary Leah Hounsell (Keats), brother Allan Hounsell, sister Fannie Best. Leaving to mourn wife Rita, daughters Malvina (Andy) Alexander; Tina (Edgar) Oldford; Mary (Tony) Folkes; son David, stepdaughters Debbie Gillingham, Brenda (Fred Bulger); Collette (Keith Carter), stepsons Chris Gillingham (Lynn Underhay); Craig Gillingham, fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn brothers Lloyd (Myra), Aaron (Emma), Ronald (Marie); sister Daisy (Bill Dowding), many nieces, nephews and members of the Loyal Orange Lodge. Visitation took place in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Sunday 7pm - 9 pm, Monday 10am - 9 pm. and in St. Aidan's Anglican Church, Port Blandford on Tuesday 12 noon - 9 pm, Wednesday 10 am - 12 noon. from where funeral service took place at 2 pm. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Port Blandford. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations made be made to the Dr. L. A. Miller Centre or a charity of one's choice in Herb's name. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on December 12, 2011, after a short illness, David Tucker, in his 77th year. Leaving to mourn are his loving wife, Geneva; three daughters: Blanche (Hayward), Sharon and Stella (John); one son, Sheldon (Jill); six grandchildren: Darren, Terry, Michael, Matthew, Emma and Evan; two great grandchildren: Hayley and Parker; three brothers: Silas (Patricia), Jack (Marion) and Oliver (Janet); three sisters, Norma (Everett), Cynthia (Thomas) and Mary. Also a large circle of other family and friends. Rested at the Faith United Church, St. Jones Within, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. G. Rested at the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Clarenville from where the funeral service officiated by PastorAndrews and Pastor Benson, took place on December 15, 2011 with interment following at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville. It is with great sadness that the family of The Late Chesley Penney announces his passing on Friday December 16, 2011 at the G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving wife of 54 years Shirley; Son Don and wife Elsa of Nova Scotia, daughter Angela and husband Sam of Charlottetown, granddaughters Terri Sheppard (Andrew Hawco), Samantha Tucker and Sarah Tucker; grandsons Christopher Sheppard (Cynthia Sweetapple) and Matthew Penney; great grandchildren Logan Sheppard and Charlotte Hawco; sisters Olive and Irene; son - in law Derek Sheppard, nieces, nephews, plus a large circle of other family and friends. Pre-deceased by daughter Sandra, sisters Hazel and Carrie; brothers Watson and Hedley.Funeral service was officiated by Rev. G. Cook on Sunday December 18, 2011 from Emmanuel United Church Charlottetown with interment following at Charlottetown Cemetery.
