BARNES, Robert William
Passed on: January 3rd, 2018

Died suddenly on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood, Ontario at the age of 80. Bob of Wasaga Beach, Ontario, formerly of Shoal Harbour, Newfoundland, loving father of Kimberly Harrison (Ralph Douma) , Robert Barnes, Pamela (David Brett) and Christine (Tony Iannetta). Cherished grandfather of Lorena, Whitney, Melanie, Scott, David (Teara), Justin, Zachary and Spencer and great grandfather of Inaya, Jaden, Jordan, Emerson and Alexis. Dear brother of Pat Barnes (Doris) and Helen Warren. Bob was a quiet and caring man who was known to be a bit of a rascal at times. His athleticism, particularly on the softball fields and on the rink, was legendary. He will be deeply missed. Private family services have been held. CLOUTER, Juanita Kathleen

Passed peacefully away at Dr. Albert O'Mahony Manor, Clarenville on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, Juanita Kathleen Clouter of Clarenville, aged 96 years. Predeceased by her grandson Bob; brothers Clayton, Ralph, Fraser, Fred, Charlie and Lloyd; sisters Mildred, Jean and Annie. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Rose (Watson Strong), Dartmouth, NS; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Fewer's Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with interment at United Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. In her memory donations may be made to Clarenville Area SPCA.

COOPER, Douglas Fraser Bayne
Passed on: January 28th, 2018

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Douglas Fraser Bayne Cooper, regret to announce the passing of a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Brother. Douglas passed peacefully at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital at the age of 83 on January 28, 2018. Predeceased by his parents, Ephraim & Margaret (Maggie) Cooper, & grandson, Jerry Cooper Jr. (Tammy). Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret, sons, Jerry (Edith), Greg (Debbie), Bram (Marie), daughter, Colleen (Kansas), 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and siblings, Madge (Murley) & Yvonne. Also mourning are a large circle of family and friends. A special thank you to the staff of Miraquinn Hilltop Manor for the unwavering care & compassion over the past year; to the team of doctors & nurses for his care during his illness; to the Central United Church for a wonderful service & lunch following; to Vardy's Funeral Home (Kim) for all her support and care; to each one of you, our family and friends, for your kindness, support, condolences, cards, donations, food, & in any way for your help during this difficult time. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband William of 68 years; children Gerald (Pam), Robert (Ruby), Elaine (Harold), Madelyn (Gary) and Don (Marlene); 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Fewer's Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with interment at the United Cemetery, Queens Cove. FELTHAM, Lindbergh

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, January 15, 2018, Lindbergh Feltham of Clarenville, aged 90 years. Predeceased by wives Trixie and Rita; infant son Lindy; sisters Beatrice (Samuel) Miller, Sarah (Roland) Lane, Dorothy (Douglas) Bailey and Ada (Naboth) Hunt; sister-in-law Katherine Feltham. Left with fond and loving memories his children Sam (Betty), Cec (Linda), Patsy (Clarence), Perry (Darlene) and Marsha; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother Eric; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at United Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. GILBERT, Drucilla Maude

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, Drucilla Maude Gilbert of North Harbour, aged 84 years. Predeceased by husband Otto; son Wallace; grandson Terry; parents Wilson and Mary Rodway; sister Rita; brothers Walter, Frank and Reginald. Left with fond and loving memories her sons Walter (Gladys), Woodrow (Cora) and Junior (Ann); daughter Louise (Gerald); 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at the Pentecostal Church, North Harbour. Funeral service took place on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from the Pentecostal Church, North Harbour with interment at Pentecostal Cemetery, North Harbour.

GUY, Earl Alton
Passed on: January 5th, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Earl Alton Guy, born April 26, 1948, announce his sudden passing on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the age of 69 years. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his wife Lorraine of 42 years; his children Gerald (Liesi), Sherry (Lori), Jennifer (Carl), Barbara (Chris). He will be sadly missed by his four grandchildren Brody, Kristen, Jaden and Alex; by his sister Annie Snelgrove (Graham) and by a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Earl Alton Guy was predeceased by his parents, Alexander Guy, Margaret Bollard Guy, sister Mary Green, brothers Ren, Eldrich, Arthur, Ambrose and granddaughter Melinda Barrett. Remains rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from Pentecostal Church, Arnold's Cove with interment at the Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove.

HOSKINS, Gwendolyn Gladys

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Gwendolyn Gladys Hoskins, age 77, from Britannia, at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on January 31, 2018. Predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Fannie Steele (Northern Bay) and brothers, Bill, Roy (Betty), Warren and Harold. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are her husband, Bill, children, Janice (Rudy), David (Judy), Kenneth (Susan) and Paul (Julie); grandchildren, Brad, Ashley (Johnny), Stephanie (Mike), Travis (Christine), Kayla (Scott), Brandon (Kayla), Cody, Gregory and Caitlyn; great grandchildren, Koby, Lucas, Logan and Allie; brother, Ern; sisters-in-law, Chloe and Violet as well as many other extended family and friends. Rested at Vardy's funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour, Funeral service, officiated by Rev. Donna Hann, took place from the United Church, Britannia on Saturday, February 3, 2018 with interment following at the United Church Cemetery, Britannia. Donations in her memory may be made to your choice of the Britannia United Church Cemetery Fund or the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Passed peacefully away at Pleasant View Towers, St. John's on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Age 76 years. Predeceased by husband Byron, brother William Robert King, sister Dorcas Pitcher. Leaving to mourn son Fred (Teresa) of Napan, NB; grandsons, Matthew and Justin; sister-in-law Gloria King of Clarenville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Eric & May King, Bruce & Connie King, and John & Corinne King, all of St John's. Also, a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Rested at St Matthew's Anglican Church, Trouty. Funeral service took place on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Trouty with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Trouty. In her memory donations may be made to St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Trouty. Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Saturday, January 27, 2018, Ella Peddle of Hodges Cove, aged 71 years. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd; parents Mary and William Vey; infant child Dermot John. Left with fond and loving memories her daughter Denise Peddle (Paul Whalen); son Raymond; grandchildren Alexander, Maggie and Daniel; great grandson Parker; sisters Donna Vey (Stuart Roberts), Karen Spurrell (Graham) and Kathy Smith; brother Lloyd Vey (Donna); nieces and nephews Deidre, Danielle, Dayna, Nicole, Brittany and Nicholas; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at the Anglican Church, Hodges Cove. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Anglican Church, Hodges Cove with cremation to follow. Passed away suddenly at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, January 14, 2018, Betty Penney of Clarenville, aged 76 years. Predeceased by husband Willis; parents Arthur and Elizabeth Short; sister Karen Blundon. Left with fond and loving memories are her children Glenice, Arleen (Todd), Randy (Stella), Jeff and Greg (Lynnette); grandchildren Ashley (Robert), Cassandra (Cory), Jordan, Morgan, Hayley, Jacob and Rebecca; great grandchildren Isaiah, Parker, Preston, Taylor and Blair; sisters Donna (Dave) and Viola; brother Eric (Marty); and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Memorial service took place on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Fewer's Memorial Chapel with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Burgoynes Cove. SHORT, Doris Rosella (nee George)
Passed on: January 27th, 2018

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Saturday, January 27, 2018, Doris Short, in her 90th year of Deep Bight. Predeceased by her husband Arthur; daughter Edie Hatfield; sons Robert, Joshua; grandson Travis Trowbridge. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters Millie (Lloyd), Emily; sons Ramsey (Darlene), Peter (Violet); 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters Millie Stanley, Edie Paul; Brother George (Olivine) and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at the United Church, Deep Bight. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from the United Church, Deep Bight with interment at United Church Cemetery, Deep Bight. In her memory donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

STANLEY, Annie Mabel (nee Stone)
Passed on: January 4th, 2018

Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Thursday, January 4, 2018, after a short illness, Annie Mabel Stanley (nee Stone), age 90 years. Predeceased by her parents Hubert and Amelia Stone, brothers Frederick & Morley and sisters Una and Yvonne. Left with loving memories are her children Linda (David) Simms, Zeb (Karen) and Vaughan (Carol), grandchildren Robert (Tracey), Andrew (Stephanie), Troy (Erin), Jennifer and Amanda (Scott), and great-grandchildren Devlan and Spencer Simms and Nathan, Bryden and Elliot Stanley. Also leaving to morn is her sister, Kay Goodyear and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends including Annie's special niece Karen Martin. Cremation has taken place. Visitation took place at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville on Tuesday, January 9th at10am, which was followed by a memorial service in Fewer's Memorial Chapel at 2pm. Interment will take place at a later date at the Anglican Cemetery in Gin Cove Head. Donations can be made in Annie's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Clarenville Nordic Ski Club.
