William John Duffett
Passed peacefully away at Bonavista Hospital, June 27th, 2010, William John Duffett in his eighty first year. Predeceased by son Albert, grandson Leroy Kazimer, brother Edmund, step-brother Levi House and brother-in-law Nelson Lambert. Leaving to mourn his wife Susie (Lambert), sons Malcolm (Christine), Wesley (Connie), daughters Holly Kazimer (Larry), Geneva Abbott (Gerald), sister Alma Butt (Tom), step- sister Katie (Baker), sisters-in-law Emma, Geneva Tucker (David), Velma Lambert, brothers-in-law Wesley Lambert (Loretta), Alex Lambert (Selina), 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Strathie's Funeral Home, Catalina. Interment at St. Peters Anglican Cemetery 2 p.m., June 30, 2010. Rev. Eric Squires officiating.

Nellie Crewe
Passed away at the Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista, NL on June 27, 2010, Nellie Crewe, widow of the late Ernest Crewe (Sr.). Predeceased by infant son, Calvin and daughter Margaret. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories (Rev.) Lewis, Grand Bank; Lloyd (Audrey), Pilleys Island; Marie (Gary), Hillview; Ida (Don), Medicine Hat, AB; Ernest (Margo), Labrador City; Ruby (Wade), Bonavista; Gertrude, ON; Helen (Joe), AB; Evelyn (Bob), Bonavista; Irvine (Doreen), Bonavista; Violet, Clarenville, NL; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held at Memorial United Church, Bonavista on June 30, 2010 with Rev. Amanda Barnes, officiating.

Paul Lane
Passed peacefully away at the Bonavista Hospital, Bonavista on July 1, 2010, Paul Lane, age 69, from Tickle Cove. Predeceased by parents, Mathias and Hannah Lane and son, Calvin. Leaving to mourn are his wife, Martha; daughter, Elizabeth (Frank); son, Paul (Sandra); grandson, Kyle; brothers, Sam (Shirley), Gus (Carolyn), Tony (Sharon); sisters, Linda (Ted) and Shirley (Don) and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Open Hall from where the funeral service, officiated by Father David Joy, took place on July 5, 2010 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island. FAMILY CARING FOR FAMILY

Passed peacefully away at Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Monday, June 28, 2010, Josephine Balsom of Clarenville, aged 76 years. Predeceased by husband Hubert, sister Doreen Smith and brother Mac Holloway. Left with fond and loving memories her children Jim (Diane), Clarenville, Janice Blundon (Ralph), Milton, Sherry Randell (Gary), Clarenville, Bryan (Betty), Gander and Paula Shortt (Doug), Sarnia, ON; sisters and brothers: Eileen Lethbridge (Heber), Random Island, Alex Holloway (Audrey), Harcourt, Arthur Holloway (Evelyn), Clarenville, Boyd (Millie), London, ON, Maisie Johnson (Earl), Ridgetown, ON, Velma Spurrell (Eldon), Clarenville and Linda Simmonds (Bob), Clarenville; grandchildren Jamie (Lisa), Michael (Raylene) and Jason (Lynette) Balsom, Nicole (Michael) and Ryan (Leslie) Blundon, Matthew Randell, Bill and Denny Scott, Samantha (Zac), Jesse and Casey Shortt; great grandchildren Noah, Nathan, Joel, and Jessica Balsom and Trevor Mooney; her companion Roy Lethbridge, Clarenville and a large circle of family and friends. Jean Dorothy Norris
Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center, St. John's on Friday, June 25, 2010, Jean Norris of Clarenville, formerly of Lethbridge, aged 64 years. Predeceased by son Sherman; parents Reuben and Lillian Holloway. Left with fond and loving memories daughters Roxanne (Max) Hiscock , Cavelle (Gary) Cuff; sons Boyd (Darlene) Wells, Robert Wells; five grandchildren Calvin, Maxine, Cassandra, Griffin, Kobe; fiancée Gary Cooper; sister Annie (George) Drodge; brothers Hedley (Emma) Holloway, Stephen (Isabelle) Holloway and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge, Funeral service was held Monday, June 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Church, Lethbridge with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Lethbridge.

Gilbert Garfield Stone
Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John's on July 11, Gilbert Garfield Stone, age 85, from Lower Lance Cove, Random Island. Left with fond memories are his daughter, Susan, three nieces, five nephews as well as other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour, Random Island. Funeral service, officiated by Rev. J. Broaders, took place on July 13 , 2010, from the All Saints Anglican Church, Petley with interment following. FAMILY CARING FOR FAMILY

Passed peacefully away at Dr. Albert O'Mahony Manor, Clarenville on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, Mary Louisa Spurrell of Arnold's Cove, aged 93 years. Predeceased by her husband William. Left with fond and loving memories her children: Janet (late Clarence Smith), Hodge's Cove, Shirley (Harvey Osmond), Doyles, Blanche (Dave Smith), Foxtrap, Herb (Myrtice), Hodge's Cove, Norm (Eva), Arnold's Cove, Lorraine (Ed Lockyer), Arnold's Cove and Brian (Janet), Come-By-Chance; sister Nellie (late Harold Hillier), California; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 from St. Michael's All Angels Anglican Church with interment at Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove. W.A. Raymond Diamond
Passed suddenly away at his temporary residence, Daisy Hobb's, Bunyan's Cove, on July 8th, 2010, the age of 67, W.A. Raymond Diamond from Lethbridge. Predeceased by parents, Joseph and Doris; twin brother, William; wife, Dianne; brother-in-law, Archibald Penney and nieces, Lorraine Greening and Catherine George. Leaving to mourn are his daughter, Debbie Olicia (Oliver); grandchildren, Felisa, Rhianna, Emily; brothers, Joseph (June) (Violet) - whom he resided with; Mansfield (Alice); sisters, Effie Prince (Baxter), Joy Chatman (Roland), Dove Penney and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the Heritage United Church, Lethbridge from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Karen Bursey, took place on Sunday, July 11th, 2010, 4 p.m. with interment following. Passed peacefully at his residence in Dartmouth, N.S. on July 10, 2010, at age 84 years. Survived by his beloved wife Esther (Boudreau), and predeceased by his first wife Betty (Little). Dear stepfather of Denise Guttridge (late Paul) of Balfour, BC, Jacques Veniot (Francine) of Bathurst, NB, Andre Veniot (Kim) of Shediac, NB, Renée Turnbull (George) of Dartmouth, NS and Phillipe Veniot of Porter's Lake, NS. Much-loved step-grandfather of Jason, Anne, Louis Michel, Marc, Joshua, Blair, Alanna, Alexandre and Maurice and step-great-grandfather of Cody, Sarah, William and Kevin. Dear uncle of Ena Decker of Sydney, NS, Charles (Yvonne) Pelley of Kingston, ON and Iris Adams of Milton, NL. Predeceased by his parents, Israel and Annie Adams, brother Lawrence Adams, sister Mona Pelley and nephew Wesley Adams, all of Newfoundland, and his stepson Pierre Veniot of Montreal, QC. He will also be fondly remembered by other family members in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, and Connecticut, USA, and many friends. Charles worked with the CBC in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, retiring as Technical Supervisor in Fredericton, NB, in 1988. He was an avid amateur radio operator all his life, starting from the age of 16, with the call letters VE1RG. A memorial service in celebration of Charles' life will be held at Grace United Church, corner King and Ochterloney, Dartmouth, NS (Rev. Stephen Frame officiating) on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. There will be no visitation. A reception for family and friends will be held after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Charles' memory. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will be followed by inurnment in Milton, Newfoundland.

Kathleen (Kay) Bailey
Passed away in the presence of her family and loved ones at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Thursday, July 15, 2010 in her 77th year. Left with fond and loving memories her husband James of 53 years, sons; Bernard and Lewis (Mary), daughters; Denice (Allan) and Kimberly (Lockyer); five grandchildren Jennifer, Wendy, Matthew (Chaning), Ericka (Mitchell) and Nicholas, 2 great-grandchildren Alysha and Leland, one sister Mary Blanche Drodge, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Remains rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima, Roman Catholic Church, Clarenville. Interment at Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bonavista. In her memory donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Winston Norman Bailey
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, July 11, 2010, Winston Bailey of Arnold's Cove, aged 69 years. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Elaine of 46 years; son Winston Paul (Gail); daughters: Karen (Rick) Pitcher, Jacqui Winter; three grandchildren: Chad and Bailey Winter and Adam Pitcher; sisters: Agnes Reid, Eva (Charles) Gilbert, Barbara (Frank) Barrett, Audrey (Harvey) Reid, Phyllis (Donald) Pike; sister-in-law Patricia Barbour and a large circle of family and friends. Visitation at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove, Monday, July 12 and Tuesday, July 13 until noon. Visitation will then be at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Baine Harbour, starting Tuesday, July 13 at 7 p.m. to Wednesday evening, July 14. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 from St. Mark's Anglican Church, Baine Harbour with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Baine Harbour. Donald Paul
Passed peacefully away at the protective care unit of the Bonavista Hospital on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010, Donald Paul of Bonavista, aged 88 years. Predeceased by wife Flossie; brothers Clement (Chrissie), Harry and Freddie. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Diann; brothers Frank (Flossie) and Willis (Barbara); sisters-in-law Irene Paul, Pearl Randell, Jessie (Fred) Fisher; special niece Ann (Bill) Squires as well as a number of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Strathie's Funeral Home, Bonavista. Interment was on July 5, 2010 at Lookout Cemetery, with Rev. Amanda Barnes officiating.

Freeman L. Lockyer
Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge in Carbonear, NL on Saturday July 10, 2010 Freeman Lockyer aged 75 years of Little Harbour East. Predeceased by infant son Freeman (1965), and parents Frank & Phoebe Lockyer. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Sarah of 49 years; daughters Irene (Gerald) Leonard, Doreen (Scott) Whiffen; sons; Wayne, Murdock (Karen), Maxwell (Ruby), Calvin (Sandra), Scott (Tammy), Jamie; 11 grandchildren, one great granddaughter; sisters Rita (William) Lockyer, Mondella (Vince) Mills, Madonna (Joseph) Drover; brothers Leslie (Anne), George (Rita), Rex (Dora), Alfred (Shirley) and a large number of family and friends. Rested at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Little Harbour East. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from St. Andrews Anglican Church with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Little Harbour. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Andrews Anglican Church, Little Harbour.
