Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Hospital, Corner Brook, Willis Johnson Martin, age 95, from Hillview, on June 30, 2011. Predeceased by parents, Samuel and Susannah. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife, Margaret; daughters, Gloria (Andrew) Rice and Glenys (Larry) Drover; sons, Winston (Sadie) and Ron (Jeanette); grandchildren, Jackie , Jennifer, Kirk, Ryan, Scott and Ashley; great grandchildren, Owen, Nicolas, Marisa, Matthew, and Ryley. Rested at the Grace United Church, Hillview from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Glen Jarvis, took place on Sunday, July 3, 2011 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Passed away at his residence, Summerville, on July 7, 2011, Frederick James Humby, age 83. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Florence Humby; brother, Albion; sisters, Eva (Norm Humby) and Lily (Jack Fry). Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife, Florence; daughter, Donna (Dennis Smith); sister, Laura (Graham Rogers- deceased); sister-in-law, Jenny, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at the Summerville United Church, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Russell Lodge, took place on Sunday, July 10, 2011 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Saturday, July 9, 2011, Barry Haines, aged 68 years of Clarenville. Predeceased by parents Ted & Minnie. Left with fond and loving memories his children Kevin (Pam), Craig (Kathy) and Lisa (Glen); seven grandchildren Matthew, Brandon, Chad, Chantille (Tim), Jordan, Ryan and Isabella and a circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Clarenville. Cremation has taken place. In his memory donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre, St. John's on Monday, July 4, 2011, Minnie Holloway of Charleston, aged 66 years. Predeceased by husband Harvey. Left with fond and loving memories her children Shawn (Kathy), Stacy (Warren), Dillon and Denise (Kris); sisters Louisa (Rosstin), Violet, Lillian (Howard), Ethel and Florence; brother Richard; grandchildren Joshua, Amber, Charitie, Shawna, Jaysen and Noriah; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the United Church, Charleston with interment at United Cemetery, Charleston.

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, July 4, 2011, Silas Maxwell Avery of Southport, aged 91 years. Predeceased by wife Audrey; brothers Nelson and Ronald; sisters Pearl Spurrell, Annie Goodyear and Mary Blanche Avery; half brothers William and Elijah Hillyard. Left with fond and loving memories his children Marguerite Seward (Edwin), James (Alice), Harvey (Joyce), Judy Jacobs (Wilmore) and Cindy Smith (Ron); ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Hearts Ease. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the United Church, Southport with interment at United Cemetery, Southport. In his memory donations may be made to United Church, Southport.

Albert Leslie Short
Passed Away On: 10/07/2011

Passed away surrounded by his loving family after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday July 10, 2011, Albert Leslie Short aged 83 years of Deep Bight. Predeceased by parents William & Kate; bothers George & Fred; sister Myrtle and brother in law Frank Adey. Left with fond and loving memories his wife, Margaret of 53 years; loving daughter Jenny & precious granddaughter Arlene (Leo); nieces Kate (Zachary), Lynette (Noah) and nephew Louis (Susannah, Johanna & Josiah) along with a large circle of family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Rested at the United Church, Deep Bight on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Memorial Service took place from the United Church Deep Bight on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Deep Bight. In his memory donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer society for Daffodil Place, St. John's, NL.

Adylies Tremblett

Adylies Tremblett
- 82, of Bridgewater, NS (formerly of Bonavista, NL) passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, NS. Born April 27, 1929, in Barrd Islands, NL she was the daughter of the late Peter and Alfreda (Coffin) Mews. Adylies worked for several years as a Nursing Assistant at the Waterford Hospital in St. John's, and later, at the Bonavista Cottage Hospital. After raising her family (including being a foster parent), she returned to the workforce and was employed with Fishery Products International until her retirement in 1988. Although physical limitations prevented her from participating in her community in her later years, she had been an active member of many community groups including the UCW, The Women's Institute and the Hospital Auxiliary. Well known for her handcrafts, Adylies was always busy creating ; crocheting, knitting, quilt making or sewing - her hands were never idle. Many have been the recipient of her handwork from which she took great pride and enjoyment.
Family was such an important part of her life and Adylies cherished the time spent with them. She had a beautiful voice and her family hold special memories of the many hours she spent singing to them. She had a kind heart and a beautiful smile and was a true friend to many. She is survived by son Owen (Cecilia) Tremblett, daughter Olga (Michael) Fowler, Bridgewater, NS; grandchildren Dannette (Roger) Darrigan, Grand Falls, NL; Brenda Fagan, St John's, NL; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Ella, & Zoey. She leaves several nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends including close friends Sheila Lane and Lorraine Snow who will miss her dearly.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her second husband, Frank (March 2011), first husband Heber (May 1987), immediate family members – brother Walter, and sisters Beatrice & Maude. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeney's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, NS where cremation has taken place. In keeping with Adylies' wishes, there will be no service. Interment will take place in Newfoundland at a later time. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday July 22, 2011, Ida Andrews aged 84 years of Swift Current. Predeceased by husband Ernest; parents Pearce & Sarah Ann Penney; Brothers Eric and Ted; son in law Eugene Stacey. Left with fond and loving memories her children Hazel Stacey, Gordon (Lorraine), Fraser (Sandy), Norma Anderson (Hubert), Joy Beck (Clyde) and Sylvia; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sister Amelia Harris (Harvey) and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at the Bethany United Church, Swift Current. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 2 PM from the Bethany United Church, Swift Current with interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Swift Current. Donations in her memory may be made to the Bethany United Church Swift Current.

Mary Elizabeth Barker (nee Meaney)
Passed Away On: 18/07/2011
Entered into rest July 18th, 2011 at the Bonavista Health Care Centre, Bonavista, Mary Elizabeth Barker (nee Meaney), from Open Hall, aged 89 years. Predeceased by parents Marie and Patrick; sisters Veronica and Rose; brothers John, Fabian, Alex, and Augustus; daughter Josephine; son Brendan. Leaving to mourn sons Ron (Hannah), Brian (Patricia), daughter Glenda, and sister Margaret (Andrew Lannon). Sadly missed and much loved by grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rested at the Roman Catholic Church, Open Hall from where the funeral service, officiated by Father David Joy took place on July 22nd, with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Maxwell Ronald Hollohan

Passed peacefully away on July 20, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre after a brief illness, Maxwell (Ronald) Hollahan, of Southern Bay, Bonavista Bay aged 84 years. Predeceased by his wife Elsie. Leaving to mourn his children: Roger (Diane), Gerald (Boyna) and Rick; four grandchildren: Vikki (James Headley), Leah (David Squires), Michael (Joy) and Jazmine (Jonathan); two step grandchildren: Laura (Joe), Denise (Steve); four great-grandchildren: Kira, Brooke, Evan and Damon, two sisters: Olive James and Lorraine Easey; one brother Loyal; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cremation took place and a memorial service officiated by Rev. Glen Jarvis took place from the Eventide Memorial Chapel, Charleston, interment followed at the United Church cemetery, Southern Bay, on Saturday, July 23, 2011.
