SMITH, Emily
Died peacefully at Bayview Heights Manor on Sunday, June 2, 2002, Emily Mariah Smith (Saunders). Darling mother of Alice Oram (Azariah), Sarah Jessie Gonzales (Bob, deceased), Annette King (deceased) (Dick), Elizabeth King (Malcolm), Donald Smith (deceased) (Mildred), David Smith (Blanche), Marilyn Downey (Art), Sylvia King (Leonard), Carol Crowther (Mike), Bernice Lockyer (Joe), Doreen Hollett (Alton) and Leroy Smith (Marguerite). Also leaving to mourn one sister, Melita Pardy (Edward), over 80 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also her special friends at Bayview Heights Manor, the staff, owners Derek and Carolann Toope and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove from where the funeral took place on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Brookside. In her memory donations may be made to the Janeway Hospital Foundation.

SKIFFINGTON, Susan Marie,
48 years of age

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a dear wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Susan passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on May 28, 2002. Leaving to mourn her husband, Leander; daughter, Angela (Brad Simmons); son, Stephen (Tiffany); three grandchildren; parents, Douglas and Stella Tucker (St. John's); eight sisters; four brothers and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lethbridge from where the funeral took place on Friday, May 31, 2002 with Pastor Troy McQueen officiating and interment followed at the Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery, Lethbridge. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.
God took her home, it was His will, but in our hearts she liveth still

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on May 7, 2002, Thomas Keats of Port Blandford. He was 85 years of age. Predeceased by his wife, Fannie. Leaving to mourn daughter, Rosalind Reader (Oliver); sons, Jethro, Richard, Ralph (Pansy); sisters, Edith Chatman, Mary Penney; brothers, Ted, Edgar, Norman, Andrew, Frank; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at the Anglican Church, Port Blandford from where the funeral took place on Thursday, May 9, 2002 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Passed peacefully away at Health Sciences Complex, St. John's, on Monday, June 3, 2002, Wilbert Snow of Swift Current, aged 47 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Barbara of 16 years; daughters, Kelly and Rhonda, Swift Current; parents, Ronald and Eileen snow; sisters, Elaine (Kirk Barrington), Swift Current, Una (Allan White), White Rock, BC and Janice (Barry Crocker), Swift Current; brother, Edward (Amanda Barrington), Swift Current and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at United Church, Swift Current. Funeral service held on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 from United Church, Swift Current with interment at United Cemetery, Swift Current. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville.

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross  Memorial Hospital, at  Clarenville on Wednesday June 5, 2002, Rosamond Wiseman of Port Rexton, aged 63 years. Predeceased by her husband, William; and brothers, Nathaniel and Norman. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters, Lovie (Frank Long), Champney's East, Judy Short, Port Rexton, Valerie (Gary Watton), Trinity East, Brenda (Randell Smith), Cold Lake, AB and Jennifer (Wayne Freeman), Champney's West; sons, William (Lorraine), St. John's, Randy (Kerri-Ann), Edmonton, AB and Scott (Donna), Edmonton, AB; sisters, Prinzline Cope, North Carolina, Marilyn (Roy Bailett), Port Rexton, Nellie (Raymond Blundon), Shoal Harbour and Sybil (Dave Goldsworthy), Come-By-Chance; brothers, Lindsay Toope (Mona), Port de Grave, Max Toope (Linda), Come-By-Chance and Eric Toope, Come-By-Chance; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Anglican Church, Trinity East from where the funeral took place on Saturday, June 8, 2002 with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton.

LEYTE, Ed
Passed away suddenly at Newhook Medical Clinic, Markland on Tuesday, June 18, 2002, Ed Leyte of Shoal Harbour, aged 48 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Sherry of 23 years; son, Neil (Corrine), Clarenville; daughter, Melissa, Shoal Harbour; parents, Edward and Annie Leyte, Lethbridge; brothers and sisters, Pearl (Lloyd Snow), Campbellton, Melvin Osmond (Shirley), Campbellton, Louise (Bert Fudge), Comfort~Cove, Lawrence Osmond (Pat), Lethbridge and Melvina (William Hill), Scarborough, ON and a large circle of family and friends.Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held on Friday, June 21, 2002 from Calvary Pentecostal Church, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. In his memory donations may be made to the Janeway Hospital.

COOK, Edna Marcella
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on June 7th, 2002, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Edna Marcella Cook, age 65, from Cannings Cove. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories busband, Calvin; daughters, Gwen (James Lowry, Ontario), Lisa (Earl Noseworthy, Ontario); sons, John (Sherry Miles, Cannings Cove), Jeff Miles, Ontario; sisters, Dora (Edgar Penny, Cannings Cove) Sheila (Ivan Estey, St. John's); brother, Greg (Ann Pitts, St. John's); grandchildren, Shawn, Zoe, Shalyn and Matthew; sister-in-law, Dean Penny, Cannings Cove; nephews, Brian and Stephen Penny, Cannings Cove; niece, Beverly Bursey, St. John's and many friends. She was a very brave and special person and will be sadly missed by all that knew her. Rested at St. John the Divine Church, Cannings Cove. Funeral took place on Friday, June 10th, 2002 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

VEY, Warren M.
(Corner Brook, NF)

As he lived his life, Warren Vey passed away calmly and peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2002. His great wisdom, joy of life and faith in the Lord will guide his wife, Joan; his three daughters, Elaine, Cathy and Karen through their grief. Stewart, Adam, Matthew, Mandeep, Robyn, Andre and Christine will miss him dearly. Harry, Vernon and Winnie will remember their oldest brother as a true friend and family stalwart. The Park family will grieve for a brother-in-law who embraced their family 44 years ago and became their own. His many friends, extended family and loved ones will embrace the time they shared with him and keep in their hearts his love. He is predeceased by his parents, Elsie and Eric; and brother, Lester. Visitation was at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday. The funeral service was held Friday, June 21 from All Saints Anglican Church. Clarence Street, Canon Percy Coffin officiating. Interment followed at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
