Ann Mary Eddy (nee Dean)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ann Mary Eddy (nee Dean), aged 88 years, of North Harbour, Placentia Bay on June 20th, 2010. Ann is predeceased by her devoted husband, Frank Donald and beloved granddaughter Louanne Marie. If you asked Ann to name the greatest joy of her life, she would have answered that it was raising her sons Ross (Alison) and Tony (Jean). They returned her devotion with their constant support and love. Ann played a significant role in the nurturing of her seven grandchildren. Through the countless loaves of homemade bread, hot soup and a seemingly endless supply of dry mittens and rubber boots, she made visits to North Harbour magical events. Ann's lively spirit and endless insight continued to inspire her grandchildren through their adulthood. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Julia Kennedy (Gary), Lori Collins (Jeremy), Robert Eddy (Reed), Annette Wiseman (Paul), Mark Eddy and Heather Strand (Steven). Ann was delighted with the blessing of her great-grandchildren Alexander, Andrew, Samuel, Madeline, Jack, Emme and Marianne. Ann enjoyed several happy years at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre, Paradise. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Meadow Creek for their excellent care, especially in recent months when their sensitivity was most needed. We would also like to acknowledge the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre who made Ann's final days comfortable and dignified. As per her wishes, Ann has been cremated. Interment will be scheduled at a later date to allow attendance by her immediate family. Expressions of sympathy can be added to an online memorial with Hickey's Funeral Home by visiting www.hickeysfuneralhome.ca     In lieu of donations or flowers, please take some time out of your day to spend with the people you love in Ann's memory.
