Nathan Churchill Watton
Passed on: January 28th, 2012
Passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Halliburton, Ontario. Formerly of Ivanhoe, Trinity Bay, Nathan Churchill Watton age 66 years. Predeceased by his mom Eliza Watton; grandparents, Amos and Adella Watton; four sisters, Ena Pippy, Sarah Watton, Melvina Ryan and Alice Watton. He is survived by his wife, Judy and devoted family and long time friend Lily in Halliburton; sisters Melvina George, Louise Smith, Rebecca King and Vernice (Watson) Blundon; brother in laws Reginald Ryan and James Watton as well as many nieces and nephews in Newfoundland and Ontario. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of his life and interment will be held in Clarenville at a later date.
We all thank God for the blessing of having him in our lives and we will forever love and cherish him in our hearts

Passed on: February 27th, 2012

passed peacefully away at the Miller Center on Monday, February 27, 2012, age 72 years. Leaving to mourn daughter Barbara; grandchildren Darrell (Carol Ann), Maria (Stephen); sister Nellie (Ed), Daphne (Edgar); brother Ralph (Roslyn); eight nephews, two nieces, and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by parents, husband Larry, sister Clara (Robert). Donations gratefully accepted to St. Clements Cemetery funds. Cremation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at St. Clements, Champney's West on Friday March 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. interment will be at St. Clement's Cemetery, Champney's West.

Passed away suddenly at the Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, February 19, 2012, David Hawkins of Clarenville, formerly of Buchans, aged 48 years. Predeceased by father George. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Christine of 23 years; daughter Katie; mother Bertha; sisters Dianne Kean (Robert), Pauline Richards (David) and Terry-Lynn Tremblett; brothers Kevin, Jerry and Harvey (Sylvia); parents-in-law John (Bus) & Marina Kirby; sisters-in-law Michele Walker (Stephen) and Chantal Reid (David); and a large circle of family and friends. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Caleb Churchill, age 91, from Hodge's Cove, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on February 29, 2012. Predeceased by his wife Myrtle; parents, John and Elizabeth; brothers, George, Kenneth and Clayton; and sister, Beatrice Porter. Leaving to mourn with many precious memories are his children; Levi (Myra), Robert (Debbie), Clyde (Marilyn); Minnie (Fred), Lorraine, Marilyn (Glen); sisters, Doris Spurrell and Alice Barfett; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and also a large circle of family and friends. Rested at the St. Andrews United Church, Hodge's Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Robert Tuck, took place on Saturday, March 3, 2012 with interment following. Predeceased by her parents, Roland and Emma Smith, husband, David, son, baby Gerald, daughter, Sandra; brother, Harvey Smith; sister, Gladys and brother-in-law, Lewis Hefford and sister, Merida Smith. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Dave (Rose), Wayne, Gary, Butch; daughter, Wanda ( Allen); brother, Clarence Smith (Jenny- predeceased), sister-in-law, Pearl Smith, grandchildren, Davey, Phillip, Todd, Dean, Trina, Amanda, Mark, Dawn, Justin, Matthew, Cole, Kristopher and Brandon; 17 great grandchildren and other family and friends.Rested at the First United Church, Stephenville and Central United Church, Elliott's Cove, Random Island. Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre, in St. John's on Thursday, March 1, 2012, Roy King of Shoal Harbour, aged 60 years. Predeceased by father Eric, sisters Margaret Rose King and Clarice Fewer. Left with fond and loving memories his mother Lavina, brother Jim, sisters Sharon, Karen, and Susie (Wayne), brother-in-law Robert Fewer, six nieces, two great nephews, Mitchell and Christopher, one great niece Abby, aunts and uncles and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was 2 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Clarenville with interment at Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville. Former Hickman's Harbour resident, Harvey Butt, 84, Died March 9th, 2012, with his family who he loved completely, as they loved him. He is survived by his Wife Mary, Daughter Kimberley, Son Inlaw Chris, and his Grandchildren Bailey, Christopher, and Myle. At his request, no service will be held, he wanted everyone to remember his life not his death. Harvey Butt, our amazing Father, Husband and Grandfather was born in Hickman's Harbour on Feb. 23, 1928 to John and Effie Butt. Our Beloved Father, Husband and Grandfather spent his life making sure that he created the best possible life for who he was leaving behind. His passion was music, and Dad I will always think of you when I play or hear music. Dad we all Love You, and will miss you FOREVER! It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Vida Millicent Currie, age 93, from Miraquinn Hilltop Manor, Hickman's Harbour, formerly from Britannia, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on March 10, 2012. Predeceased by her parents,Allan and Mary Ivany; husband, Watkin; sons, Dave and Fenwick (Cassie) and daughter-in-law, Ena. Leaving to mourn are her sons, Mac and Wilfred (Madeline); grandchildren, Peter (Judy), Paul (Linda), Kim, Shawn (Lori), Adam, April, Jason (Penny) and Jamie; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Maxwell Ivany (Sadie) and William Ivany; sister-in-law, Marion Ivany; daughters-in-law, Wanda (Jim) and Jean (Ray); and many other relatives and friends. It is with saddened hearts the family of the late Bessie Gladys Smith, age 92, from Sunnyside, announce her passing at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on March 8, 2012. Predeceased by her parents, James and Martha Snook; husband, Moses; son, Jim; brothers, George (Minnie), Norman (Marnie), Charles (Alma) and Jake (Ida). Leaing to mourn with many fond and loving memories are her children, Livy Green (Calvin- deceased), Bertha Crocker (Clem) and George (Angela); 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grand-daughters and also a large circle of other family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Pentecostal Seniors Home in Clarke's Beach on March 9, 2012, Annie Bertha Martin of Little Heart's Ease aged 93 years. Predeceased by husband Theodore. Left with fond and loving memories her daughters Alice Peddle (Clarence) of Clarenville, Dinah Avery (Melvin) of Long Beach, Doris Smith (Max) of Hodge's Cove; sons Kenmore (Gina) of Brooks, Alberta, Eric (Barbara), and Howard both of Ontario, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Heart's Ease. Funeral Service took place 2 pm Monday March 12, 2012 at the United Church, Little Heart's Ease with interment at United Cemetery, Little Heart's Ease. Jordan Reginald Wells
With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the tragic passing of Jordan Wells on February 29, 2012, aged 23 years. Wonderful son of Diane Wells (Routliffe) and Walter Wells, step son of Judy Wells (Skiffington), brother of Angus (Kasi), Shawn and Deanna (Thailor), nephew of Sharon (Chris), Barry (Anne), Michael (Mary) and David, and the extended Routliffe family of Ottawa (ON). Also Walwyn (Laura), Cal (Vera), Gord (Ivy), Gloria (Lloyd), Bob (Ivy), Donna (Eliol), Morley and Debbie (Gary) and the extended Wells family, including Wade Wells and the extended Skiffington and LeBlanc (Michelle) families of Bloomfield (NL), and beloved friend of Jay, Gary, Kenny, Donald, and too many more to mention. We would like to extend special thanks to the Clareville RCMP, the Coast Guard, the Triple Bay Search and Rescue, and all the other volunteers for helping us at the difficult time.

Predeceaased by his mom and dad, John and Susie Peddle; mother and step-father, Jean and Chesley Smith and brother, Carl Smith. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Viola; daughter, Lisa (Chris) and Rodney (Thomasina); grandchildren, Cameron, Ryan and Lucas; father and step-mother, Robert and Dorothy Dalling; sisters, Judy and Suzanne; brothers, Vince, Neil, Mark and David; aunts, Loretta and Ethel and also a large circle of family and friends. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his spouse Darrell Little, daughters: Gwen Humby and husband Jeff of CBS, Jennifer O' Neill and fiancé Michael Sacrey of Fort McMurray, Mikayla Little of Clarenville, father Fredrick O' Neill of Random Island, grandchildren: Maddox, Ashton and Ryder, sisters: Patsy, Peggy, Linda, Rose, Dene, Debbie and Diane, brothers: Ed, Ron and Freddie plus a large circle of other family and friends. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William F. (Frank) Power, age 76 of Port Union, formerly of St. John's, at Bonavista Hospital on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Predeceased by wife Marg in 2001. Leaving mourn is son Dave (Yvonne Marshall), Mount Pearl; stepson Frank Reeves (Connie) Naples, Florida; daughters Sandra (Derrick Lodge), Port Union and Debbie (Stuart Haynes) Nanaimo, BC; 6 grandsons, Zachary and Kyle Power, Adam Lodge, David Power (Jennifer & Ryan), Daniel and Chris Reeves. Also sisters in law Elsie Lodge, Anne Russell, Daphne Sheppard, Sarah Lander, Barbara Norman and Margaret Norman; brothers in law Ern Norman, Bud Norman and George Branton as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and funeral was held at St. Patrick's Church in Port Union on Monday March 12, followed by burial.
