Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, March 16, 2018, Mary Davis (nee Nolan) of Clarenville, formerly of Avondale, aged 89 years. Predeceased by her husband John. Left with fond and loving memories her children Linda (Wayne), Port Blandford and Bruce (Trudy), Clarenville; grandson Josh (Allison); and a large circle of family and friends. Cremation has taken place.

GOSSE, Wm. Halstead
WWII Royal Navy Veteran

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, March 2, 2018, Halstead Gosse of Queen's Cove, aged 95 years. Predeceased by his wife Mabel. Left with fond and loving memories are his daughters Linda Davis (Rob), Dianne Raymond (Dennis), Judy Ellis and Donna Barr (Bob); sons Wayne (Jane), Jamie (Mel) and Raymond Bailey (Joan); 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters in laws and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Fewer's Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with interment following at Anglican Cemetery, Queen's Cove. In his memory flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to Clarenville Area SPCA.

GRANT, Bertha

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre in St. John's on March 15, 2018, Bertha Grant of Arnold's Cove, aged 65 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Edward Grant, parents Thomas and Rachel Monk, sister Clarissa Monk. Left with fond and loving memories her children Todd (Dana) of Paradise, Scott (Marlena) of St. John's; grandchildren Alexander and Ava; sisters Annie Butler (Jim) of Arnold's Cove, Amelia Collins (Rayfield) of Arnold's Cove; brother Roland Monk (Ernestine) of Arnold's Cove and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove on Sunday, March 18 from 12-3 p.m. A Memorial Service to take place at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove on Sunday, March 18 at 3 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date.

KEOUGH, Mary Catherine

Born: November 6th, 1941
Passed in: Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada

It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Mary Catherine Keough on March 29, 2018. Mary was born November 6, 1941 in Summerville, NFLD; lived in Plate Cove West, NFLD for thirty-five years before moving to Whitecourt, AB in 1997. Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 56 years, Aiden; children, Debbie (Len), Rosalie (Leo), Loretta (Kirk), Christine (Darrell), Roy (Phyllis), Josephine (Troy) and Sherry (Drew); ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; many more family, friends, and everyone who knew her. Mary is predeceased by her infant son, Gerald. Mary will be remembered for love and devotion to her family and friends. Her compassion, strength, and her ability to put a smile on your face will never be forgotten. In lieu of other tributes, Mary would love knowing that donations are directed to the Friends of Whitecourt Society, Box 1101, Whitecourt, AB T7S 1P1. LANE, Adelaide

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, March 1, 2018, Adelaide Lane of Bloomfield, aged 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughters Lori Holloway (Todd English) and Tonya (Roland Link); brother Horace Lane; grandchildren Nicholas and Nathan Payne and Jacob and Erica Link; the Lane, Holloway and Penney families of Bloomfield and Lethbridge; and a circle of friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with interment at United Cemetery, Musgravetown. In her memory flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Discovery Health Care Foundation.

MARSH-OSWALD, Clara Eva
Born In: Hickman's Hr, Newfoundland and Labrador
Born: April 3rd, 1923
Passed in: Alabama
Passed on: March 2nd, 2018

Born to Adam and Maggie (Lambert) Marsh in Hickman's Harbour, Newfoundland. She moved to St. John's, Newfoundland when she was about 18 and met her husband, Alfred Oswald who was in the military stationed at Gander. They moved to the United States in 1942 and Clara became a naturalized citizen in 1946. Clara and Alfred moved many times over the past seven decades and lived in New York, North Carolina, Germany, Washington, Wyoming, Texas, Libya Africa, Massachusetts, and Vermont. After Alfred retired from the military, they moved to Alabama, with subsequent moves to Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, and Kentucky. Clara and Alfred moved a final time back to Alabama where he passed away in 2009. They returned to Newfoundland for many visits over the years.
Clara spent her last years in Omaha, Nebraska. She was an excellent seamstress and cook and could knit or crochet just about anything. She made baby blankets for just about every grandchild, and crocheted hundreds of small angels for decoration and keepsakes.
Her patience, sense of humor, and caring attitude will be missed by all of her family in both the U.S. and Canada. Her parents, three brothers, two sisters, one daughter, and her husband preceded Clara in death. Five children, 14 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren survive Clara.
According to her, there were no favorites.

PYE, Lewis
Passed on: March 9th, 2018

Passed peacefully away at the Callingwood Downs Seniors Complex in Clarke's Beach on Friday, March 9, 2018 Lewis Pye of Brooklyn aged 88 years. Predeceased by his wife Maud. Left with fond and loving memories his children Sueann (John) and Paul (Maria); 4 grandchildren Natasha, Cara (Amy), Tia (Wallace), Nicholas (Laura); 1 great granddaughter Mya; sister Pearl (Bruce) and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service will be at 2 PM on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Brooklyn.

VEY, Frank Wilfred
Born: October 8th, 1934
Passed on: March 30th, 2018

On March 30, 2018, our Lord received His faithful servant Frank Wilfred Vey, aged 83, into His loving arms. Surrounded by his family, Frank passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's. Born October 8th, 1934, he is predeceased by his parents, Wilson and Henrietta (Parsons) Vey of Long Beach, Trinity Bay; siblings, William Vey, Margaret Martin, Jean Terry, Lorraine Hiscock and special friend and brother-in-law, Ralph Drodge. Lovingly remembered by wife, Margaret (Hollett), children, Bruce (Celeste) and Nadine (Justin); grandchildren, Joshua, Grace and Sidney; brothers, Ron, Cyril and Eldon (Alice); sister, Audrey; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Heartfelt thanks to Audrey, Alice and Eldon, whose faith and compassion provided much comfort to Dad. A sincere thank-you to his many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends who visited him in the hospital; with a special mention to Derrick, David, Greg, Lori and Lynette for the love and support shown to Dad throughout his life.
Frank was active in his beloved community of Long Beach and a faithful member of St. Mark's Anglican Church. His passions in life were caring for his family, helping others, church, fishing, and gardening. With a creative mind, he found much joy in working as a master craftsman throughout his life. A kind and gentle soul, Frank will be dearly missed.

WILLIAMS, Clarence Leslie

It is with profound sadness that the family of Clarence Leslie Williams announces the sudden passing of their dearly loved husband, father & grandfather on March 10, 2018. Clarence was born on Woody Island, NL on July 10, 1934 and leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Jean; children Brian (Germaine), Rick (Lorraine), Connie (Greg); grandchildren Curtis, Greg, Brad, Dennis, Nicole, Aaron & Alyssa: Great-grandchildren Ava & Amber; sisters Lily, Viney & Priscilla: pre-deceased by mother Lena, father Sidney, sister Audrey and brother Bruce. Clarence was well known for his many contributions to his community and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. His beaming smile, quick wit and generous nature will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family would like to express their appreciation for the overwhelming expression of support received at this sad time, with special thanks to Kim at Vardy's Funeral Home.

Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, March 16, 2018, Pearl Wiseman of Clarenville, aged 86 years. Predeceased by her parents Ben and Maggie Martin; baby brother Wilfred; baby sister Ivy and sister Ivy (2016). Left with fond and loving memories to celebrate her life are her husband Victor of 65 years; children Ross (Sandra), St. John's, Ruby Gilbert (Ivan), Sandy Point and Joyce Clark (Morris), Mount Pearl; grandchildren Robert Wiseman (Treena), Mitchell Wiseman (Pam), Melissa Wiseman (Mark), Colin Clark (Ora), Jo-Anna Hudson (Justin) and Ian Clark; great grandchildren Matthew Wiseman, Emily Wiseman, Ryan Clark, Owen Clark, Alex Hudson, Ben Hudson and Owen Wiseman; sisters Ruby Brown (the late Harvey), Shoal Harbour, Margaret Elder (the late Dave), Corner Brook, Lillian Martin, Mount Pearl and Judy Sparkes (Stan), Glovertown; brothers Charlie Martin (Ivy), Hickmans Harbour, Wilfred Martin (Eileen), Hickmans Harbour and Ross Martin (Donna), Clarenville; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Monday, March 19, 2018 from Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at United Church Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Parkinson Society, NL Chapter at www.nlparkinson.ca

WISEMAN, William

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, William Wiseman of Clarenville, aged 83 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Geradline of 61 years; children Rachel Earle (Alphonsus), Mona Balsom (Ed), Marie Paul (George), Bernard Wiseman (Georgina), Terry Wiseman (Karen) and Patricia Wiseman (Todd); many grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister Daisy Sutton; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Fewer's Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville.
