DODGE, Elsie "Pearl"
Passed peacefully away on Thursday, November 2, 2000 at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home, Elsie "Pearl" Dodge, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband Chesley in 1975. Leaving to mourn: son Ernest (Mary); daughter Eileen Taylor (Patrick); six grandchildren: Christine O'Reilly (Patrick), St. John's, Kimberley Taylor Cull (Daryl), Halifax, NS, Leigh Babcock (Mark), Virginia Beach, Virginia, Karen Dodge, Halifax, NS, Dana Dodge, St. John's Nicole Taylor (Gary), St. John's; two great-grandchildren: Michael O'Reilly and Sidney Taylor; brother Allan Avery, Hickman's Harbour; sisters-in-law: Alice Avery, Long Beach, Trinity Bay, Wilhelmina Dodge, Seal Cove, Annie Martin, Labrador City and Lillian Kirkland, Texas; also a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John's. Funeral was held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 4, 2000 with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.

BURDEN, Ralph
Passed away suddenly at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, Ralph Burden of Clarenville in his 74th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Jean of 50 years; daughters Gerri Burden, Edmonton, AB, Beverley Richard (Guy), Paradise and Jeanne Sali (Richard), Innisfail, AB; sons Alan (Valerie), Gander and Wayne, Clarenville; sisters Valerie Pike, Corner Brook and Marigold Burden (Charles), Woody Point; brother Milton Burden (Margaret), Corner Brook; grandchildren Marc, Luke, Evan, Rebecca, Erin, Robyn, Alan Jacob (A.J.) and John; and a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, from Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at United Church Cemetery, Clarenville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or Canadian Red Cross.

HOLLOWAY, Herbert
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, November 17, 2000 Herb Holloway of Port Blandford, aged 69 years. Predeceased by his parents Clara and Bernard Holloway and daughter Eileen Holloway. Leaving to mourn are his wife Joyce, son Perry (Hazel), daughter Karen (Rick), son-in-law Donovan (Joanne), and six grandchildren Adam, Danny, Morgan, Nicholina, Luke and Matthew. Also, brother Lindberg (Merita) and sister Winnie and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on November 19, 2000 at Alton United Church. Port Blandford.

PLOUGHMAN, Lucy Madeline (nee Vivian)
Port Rexton

passed away peacefully away on Nov. 20, 2000, in her 95th year, at St. Joseph's Hospital in London, Ontario. Mother of Maxine Janes of London. Mother-in-law of Jean Ploughman of Toronto. Grandmother of Carol Wiacek, Mike Janes, Matt Janes and his wife Joan, Jeff Ploughman and his wife Sandee Westall, Sheila Ploughman and Rick Janes and his wife Bonneysue. Great-grandmother of Scott Wiacek and his wife Andrea, Steve Wiacek, Melanie and Billy Janes, Sara and Andy Janes, Fauve Janes, and Evelyn and Michael Ploughman. Sister of Harold Vivian and his wife Belle of Port Rexton and Lionel Vivian and his wife Joyce of Seaforth, Ontario. Predeceased by husband Cecil, brothers Robert, Eli and Albert, son Lloyd, and son-in-law William Janes. Funeral service and interment on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000 in Port Rexton.

PARDY, Walter
Passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000 Walter Pardy of Lethbridge, aged 73 years. Leaving to mourn one brother Phillip Pardy (Priscilla), Lethbridge and a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service was held on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000 from Salvation Army Citadel, Lethbridge, with interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Lethbridge.

HOLLOWAY, Samuel
Passed peacefully away at Health Science Complex, St. John's on Thursday, November 23, 2000, Samuel Holloway of Bloomfield, aged 75 years. Predeceased by brothers Chesley, Alexander and Everett; sisters Annie Holloway and Mary Belbin. Leaving to mourn one brother Murdock (Dove), Musgravetown; two sisters-in-law Margaret Holloway, Musgravetown and Lizzie Holloway, Bloomfield; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service was held on Sunday, November 26, 2000 from Pentecostal Church, Bunyan's Cove with interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Musgravetown.

KING, Naomi
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, November 26, 2000, Naomi King of Hickman's Harbour, formerly of Deer Harbour, aged 103 years. Predeceased by daughter Edna (1924) and husband Jabez King (1981). She leaves to mourn five children: Jemima Avery, Hickman's Harbour, Amelia Marsh (Ben), Hant's Harbour, Rhyna Marsh (Harold), New Brunswick, Melvin (Marsha), Gander and Austin (Madeline), Hickman's Harbour whom she resided with; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; one sister Edith Bailey, Hickman's Harbour; and a large number of other relatives and friends.
