November 5, 2009

Stringer - Passed away at the Bonavista Hospital in the presence of her loving family on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009, Laura Stringer of Caplin Cove, age 86 years. Predeceased by her husband William Stringer, 3 grandchildren Barry, Annette and Rodney, 2 great grandchildren Allissa and Brayden, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Left with fond and loving memories are 7 daughters Linda Chaytor (John), Eileen Avery, Joan Drover (Wayne), Donna Drover (June), Maxine Drover (Roy), Dale Currier (Glen), Yvonne Gray (Craig) and 2 sons Harold (Darlene) and Wade (Audrey), 23 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 special nieces Winnie Cooper (Ray) and Ivy West (Philip). As well as a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on October 30th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Wesley United Church, Caplin Cove with interment at the U.C. Cemetery. PELLEY, Amelia Elizabeth
January 14,1911 - October 27, 2009

Passed peacefully away at the G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 Amelia Pelley of Harcourt in her 98th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are son: Austin and wife Leverne of Harcourt; Daughters: Vida Hoskins and husband Edward of Britannia, Yvonne Moss and husband Ross of Jamestown; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, brother: Simeon Dean of Northwest Brook. Plus a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by husband Raymond and daughter Evelyn Pelley. Funeral service was officiated by Rev. Sharon Earl-Marshall from Bethany United Church Harcourt on Thursday October 29, 2009 with interment following at United Cemetery, Harcourt. Henry - It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Karen Bernetta (Harris) Henry, age 51, at her residence, Bloomfield, on October 27th, 2009. PENNEY, Leslie - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, Leslie Penney of Lethbridge, aged 84 years. Predeceased by sister Millicent Russell; brothers Isaac, Charles and Augustus. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Margaret of 60 years; daughters Amanda Penney (Leroy), Madonna Hussey (Ross) and Marie Law (Ian); sons Kevin (Beth) and Keon (Jean): sisters Myrtle Peddle and Margaret Chislett; brothers Dorman (Mary) and Mansfield (Louise); sister-in-law Joan Denne; brother-in-law Dick Hopkins; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge with interment at United Cemetery, Lethbridge. BAKER, Rex - Passed peacefully away on October 28, 2009 at St. Clare's Hospital, Rex Baker of Port Rexton in his 89th year. Life-long member of the SUF Lodge, Port Rexton. He is predeceased by his wife Ada, infant son Alexander and mother and father George and Annie Baker. He leaves to mourn his loving companion Lillian Rideout, son Maurice (Elizabeth), grandchildren Gregory (Kim) Baker, Kelly (Warren) McAllister, Susan (Terry) Oliver and Christina (Dwayne) Gillingham and 6-great-grandchildren; deeply mourned by sister, Mary Randell; the Rideout family: Brian and Shelly, Hazel and Roy, Glenda and Ronnie and Calvin; Harold (Madonna) Beverly (Frazer) and Edward (Theresa) as well as sister-in-law, Angelina Ayles; brothers-in-law Roy Price and James Price and many nieces and nephews. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Port Rexton. Funeral service took place from Christ Church, Port Rexton on Saturday, October 31st. Furlong - We regret to announce the peaceful passing of James Kevin Furlong, age 75, from Plate Cove, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on October 30th, 2009. Predeceased by parents, James and Ellen Furlong; brothers, Augustus and John; sisters, Veronica and Bertille and twin sister, Mary. Predeceased by parents, Robert and Louise Avery; wife, Mary; brother, Donald; sisters, Mary (Jack Baker), Carrie (Garland Stuckless); brothers-in-law, Dick Wallick and Warren Tilley. Leaving to mourn are his son, William (Susan); special friend, Claire; sisters, Marion Wallick, Annie (Jack Antle), Margie Avery; sister-in-law, Mildred Avery; Nephews, nieces and other family and friends. Leaving to mourn; sons, Rex (Heather) and Morris (Joyce); grandchildren, Jonathan (Sarah), Tristy (Nancy), Sam, Colin (Karen), Jo-Anna and Ian. Great-grandchildren, Bella, Jasper and Althia; sisters, Maude (Ralph Blundell), Mabel Marsh, Lizzie Ivany and a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends. PRICE, Marguerite S.- Passed peacefully away on November 12, 2009 at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista, Marguerite Price, aged 83 years of Port Rexton. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her devoted husband of 56 years Roy; son Rodney, daughter-in-law Carole, granddaughter Melissa and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Port Rexton. Funeral service took place on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Christ Church, Port Rexton, conducted by Rev. Gillam. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton.

BUTT, Edgar - Passed away after a brief illness, at St. Clare's Hospital, St. John's, on November 21st, 2009, Edgar Butt, age 58, from Hickman's Harbour. Predeceased by parents, Ira and Annie Butt; brother, Cyril and sister, Hazel. Leaving to mourn are his daughter, Kimberley (Ken Latte); son, Eddie (Becky Farrow); brothers and sisters, Gerald (Vivian), Clarence (Linda), Phyllis (Hayward Ivany - deceased), Myrtle (James Marsh - deceased), Clemmy (Doug Easton - deceased) and Lily (Roy Mills); two grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Left with fond and loving memories his wife of 53 years, Melvie; daughter Debbie; sons Brad and Tim; sisters Louise Rodrique and Carol Williams (Walter); granddaughters Lacy and Kali and a large number of relatives and friends. STACEY - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Albert O'Mahoney Manor, Clarenville, November 17th, 2009, Alexander Lewis Stacey, age 90 years, from Garden Cove. Predeceased by his wife, Annie (2008) and his son, Wayne (2003). Leaving to mourn with tond and loving memories are his daughter, Margaret (Freeman); sons, Ern (Sylvia) and Dave (Reta); ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren and also a large circle of nieces, lephews, family and friends.
