Frank Clifford Ploughman
Born: May 21st, 1952
Passed on: October 31st, 2015

It is with sadness and much sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Frank Clifford Ploughman, at his home in Clarenville, on Saturday, October 31, 2015, aged 63 years. Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 36 years, Toni, his daughters, Melissa Butler (Rod), Amanda Bishop (Sheldon) and his son Frank Ploughman(Diana), five grandchildren, Nathan, Hannah, Carleigh, Savanna & Willow. Four brothers, Robert (Edna), Gordon(Mary) John (Evelyn) and Eugene (Debbie), three sisters, Daphne Richard (Armand), Irene Ploughman (John Deagen) and Florence Vokey (Joseph). Also a large circle of family and friends. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Bessie (Bailey) Ploughman, his oldest sister, Louise, his youngest sister, Brenda and his nephew, David Ploughman. Visitation at Fewer's Funeral Home in Clarenville on Wednesday, November 4, 2025 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Trinity, on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 2PM. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to G.B. Cross Hospital, Clarenville or St. Paul's Anglican Church Restoration Fund, Trinity.

Eldred Barnes
Passed on: October 28th, 2015

Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista, on Wednesday October 28th, 2015, Eldred Barnes of Port Rexton was in his 98th year. Predeceased by parents Frank and Johanna Barnes, wife Sarah, son Frank, brothers Bennett, Arthur, Stuart, George, Richard, and Garland Barnes, sisters Emily Ash, Clara Churchill, Alice Winters, great-granddaughter Rebecca Cole, and son-in-law Albert Long. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his children, Cecelia (Guy), Lois, Eldred Junior (Janice), daughter-in-law Jean; sister Delilah; grandchildren Deanna, Michele, Tracey, Terri-Lynn, Melanie, Crystal, Jason, and Megan; great-grand-children Sarah, Jessica, James, Michaela, Aryn, Mallory, Grace, Ella, Caleb, and Cameron; and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at the United Church in English Harbour from where the funeral service, officiated by Reverend Amanda Barnes, assisted by Keith Barnes, took place on Friday October 30th with internment following at the United Church Cemetery, Champney's Arm. Too well loved to ever be forgotten

Dorothy Roxanna Adams (nee Sheppard)

(Born in Champney's, NFLD, Formerly of Baltimore, ON and Pickering, ON)

has been called home to the waiting arms of her treasured husband, Alfred Lloyd Adams, just after her 88th birthday, on Wednesday, October 21st 2015. Comforted with love by her daughter Linda Ley and two granddaughters, Nicole Sparks (Doug) and Amy Ley (Dave) in her final moments. Memories of her comforting smile and warm spirit will be forever remembered in the hearts of her many friends and family including her brothers Gord Sheppard (Mabel), Ed Sheppard (Nellie), and her little sister Bessie Pike (Angus). Now in heaven with her sisters Katie, Wilhelmina and Irene, perhaps enjoying a warm cup of tea together. A special thank you to Roy and Jane Hodder for their care, comfort and conversations in her times of need. Dorothy had many nieces and nephews, all who were very special to her and will miss her dearly. God Has You In His Keeping, We Have You In Our Hearts. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on November 14th 2015 at The Woodlawn Inn, 420 Division Street, Cobourg, ON. between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the O.S.P.C.A. or The Alzheimer Society of Canada. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Eileen Hawco, age 81 from Port Blandford, at the Lakeside Nursing Home, Gander on October 29, 2015. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph; parents, George and Olive Efford; infant brother, Vernon; sisters, Wilma Rose and Jessie Oake. leaving to mourn her passing are her children, Fred, Boyd (Ruth), Allan (Judy), Larry (Bernice), Robert, and Olive (Marvin); grandchildren, Chad, Andrew (Terri), Brad (Jordee), Justin, Kimberley (Max), Natasha (Ryan), Sara, Joey and also seven great grandchildren; brothers; Jacob (Beatrice), Calvin (Mary), Robert (Gloria) and William (Donna); sisters, Edna (Lorne) and Fannie (Rev. Robert) and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Alton United Church, Port Blandford from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Glenn Jarvis, assisted by Rev. Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, November 1, 2015, Lewis Pelley of Milton, aged 89 years. Predeceased by brothers Wilson, Llewellyn, Cyril and Wallace; sisters Jessie Froude and Grace Dalton. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Evelyn; son Gary (Cynthia); grandchildren Larry (Tiah) and Amanda; four great grandchildren; sisters Frances (Tom) and Ella; brother Abel (Mary); sisters-in-law Nelda and Louise; and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by wife Ellen, daughter Sylvia and great grandson Nathan. Left with fond and loving memories his children Rosalind Squires of Regina, SK and Wayde of Summerville; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister Susie Murphy of Grand Falls-Windsor; and a large circle of family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear Hospital in Carbonear on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Lloyd Barrett of North Harbour aged 76 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Anna Eliza of 19 years, daughters; Kimberley Carey (Aiden) Whitby, ON, Denise Price (Robert) North Harbour, son Jason (Elizabeth) Toronto, ON, mother of his children, Eileen Courtney, step daughter Joeanne Ellis Shoal Harbour, step son Paul Stacey (Donna), Marystown; five grandchildren; Tiffany, Travis, Bailee, Brooke, Cole; two great grandchildren; Elijah, Bethany, five step grandchildren; Caroline, Ernest, Arthur, Anthony, Nathan, two step great grandchildren; Coby, Madison; sister Alice Eastman, Toronto, ON and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Bethany United Church, North Harbour. Funeral Service took place 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Bethany United Church, North Harbour, with interment at United Cemetery, North Harbour. Passed away unexpectedly at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, November 12, 2015, Rick Peddle of Port Blandford, aged 60 years. Predeceased by his parents Hubert and Annie. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Rowena of 41 years; children Dean (Wanda), Fort McMurray, AB and Shelley Peddle, Port Blandford; grandson Gabriel Marten; sister Lisa Stick (Jim), St. John's and Nicole Mugford (Lloyd), Port Blandford; brothers Terry (Georgina), Port Blandford and Chris (Ann), Port Blandford; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Rested at the United Church, Port Blandford. Funeral service took place on Monday, November 16, 2015 at the United Church, Port Blandford with interment at United Cemetery, Port Blandford. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Gerald Gordon Stratton

passed away on November 10, 2015, 86 years of age, born on October 11, 1929. Predeceased by daughter Lorna Jean and parents Samuel & Lydia Stratton. Leaving to mourn wife Emma, 63 years of marriage. Sister Dallas (Roger) and brother Max. Children Leonard (Patsy), Donna (Jim), Randall (Zita), Lori (Angus) and Jenny (Dennis). Grandchildren; Greg (Nadine), Lorna (Jim), Jason, Gerry (Kristy), Chris & Alison, Tevin & Miranda and Brian & Allan. Great-Grand Children; Ethan, Reid, Madison, Josh and Brinlee. Also a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo. Visitation took place on Friday 11 AM - 9 PM; Saturday 10 am - Noon. Funeral Service was at 2 pm on Saturday at the Anglican Church, Gambo. Interment followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Gambo. Donations in Gerald's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. No flowers by family request.

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, November 20, 2015, Corwin Mills of Clarenville, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Mildred Mills. Left with fond and loving memories his wife June; daughter Sonja (Alicia) and son Steven (Marin); sister Rowena McNeil; brothers Archie Mills and Merlin Mills (Shirley); and a large circle of extended family and close friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. In his memory donations may be made to the ALS Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital or a charity of ones choice.
