HYNES, Audrey
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, October 1, 2000, Audrey Hynes of Clarenville aged 65 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Austin of 44 years; her parents Cecil and Jean Morden, Carleton Place, ON; brother Kenneth Morden, Carleton Place, ON; sister-in-law Frances McCrea, Ottawa, ON and a number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place Tuesday, October 3, 2000 from Calvary Pentecostal Church, Clarenville with Interment at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville. Donations in her memory may be made to Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital or Pentecostal Paving Fund.

BECK, Catherine
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Oct. 5, 2000, Catherine Beck of Swift Current in her 82nd year. Predeceased by husband Harold (1982), daughter Maisie (1999), sister Cora Crocker and brother York Barrington. Left with fond and loving memories daughter Ethel (Mrs. Winston Vaters) of Pasadena, NF; sons Maxwell (Florence) of Lantzville, BC, Rendell of Swift Current, NF and Gerald (Flo) of Swift Current, NF; brothers Rudolph Barrington of St. John's, NF, Brian Barrington of Buchans, NF, Donald Barrington (Joyce) of Swift Current, NF and Howard Barrington of Black River, NF; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grand children; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Pentecostal Church in Swift Current. Funeral took place Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000 at the Pentecostal Church with Interment at United Cemetery in Swift Current. In her memory flowers accepted or a Memorial Fund to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

VARDY, Margaret
Passed away suddenly at the Dr. G. B. Cross Hospital in Clarenville on October 5, 2000 Margaret M. Vardy of Clarenville, formerly of Johnshaven, Scotland in her 84th year. Predeceased by her husbands Gordon Martin and George Vardy. Left with fond and loving memories are daughters Kathleen Crofts, Toronto, ON and Georgina Barry (Jack), Clarenville; sons Fred, Hoyles-Escasoni, St. John's and Edward, Kincardine, ON; sister May Bain (Jack), South Africa; many nieces and nephews in South Africa, Scotland and USA; grandchildren Shaun Barry, Heather Barry Ford, Michael Barry, Stephanie Walsh (Barry), Mark and Davey Thistle, Nicole and Angela Vardy; eight great grandchildren; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains rested at Ferer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral was held on Sunday, October 8, 2000 from Memorial United Church in Clarenville with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Clarenville. In her memory a memorial fund to Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John's.

STANLEY, Baxter
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on October 6, 2000, Baxter Stanley of Clarenville, aged 84 years. Predeceased by his son Lennie (1962). Left with fond and loving memories, his wife June (Tilley) of 60 years; daughter Heather Singleton (Leonard), Clarenville; grandchildren John (Vanessa), Neil (Leann) and Alexandra; great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Adam and Nathan; sister Geneva Cholock; brothers Gerald (Edna), Eric (Vinie) all of Clarenville; sisters-in-law Mabel Stanley, Ontario, Violet Stanley, Orlando, Florida, Norma Piercey (Bill), St. John's, Ida Tilley, Clarenville; brothers-in-law Alex Tilley, Gordon Tilley, Al Tilley (Joan) all of Clarenville; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral took place Monday at Memorial United Church, Clarenville, with interment at United Church Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. In his memory flowers accepted or a Memorial Fund to the G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital CT Scan Fund.

BRINSTON, Jennie
We announce the passing of our devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jennie (Stacey) Brinston at the Miller Centre on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, aged 70 years. We say good-bye to a warm and loving friend who always thought of others before herself. Predeceased by our Dad (Alfred) in 1975, her brother William and sister Phoebe Wareham. She will be dearly missed by her two daughters Elaine (Eric) Williams, Pool's Cove and Jean (Ralph) Best, Labrador City; three grandchildren Tina (Kevin) Walsh, Holly Williams and Gregory Best; two great grandsons Nicholas and Noah Walsh; one step-grandson Wayde Best; one step-great grandson Kyle Best; one brother Charles (Gladys) Stacey, Garden Cove; two sisters Mae (George) Parsons, Garden Cove and Martha Brinston, Hickman's Harbour; one sister-in-law Evelyn (Stacey) Hollett, Arnold's Cove; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Garden Cove Memorial United Church. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. from Garden Cove United Church with Interment at the United Church Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy flowers are being gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Garden Cove United Church Memorial Fund or to Breast Cancer Research.

STACEY, Eugene
Died suddenly at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, Oct. 11, 2000. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Eugene Stacey (Gene) of Swift Current in his 65th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Hazel; six children, daughters Angela (John) Wells, Hillview and Una (Wade) Crocker, Swift Current; sons Grant (Val), Mount Pearl; Greg (Debbie), Geoff (Christine), and Guy Stacey, Swift Current; thirteen grandchildren Amy, Heather, Tiffany, Heidi, Matthew, Matthew, Kyle, Kegan, Neil, Chelsea, Jessie, Nicholas ans Spencer; sister Daphne (Clarence) Giles; brother Clifford; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by mother Effie, father Neil and brother Vernon (Frances) Stacey.

NORMAN, Edgar Boyd (Jr.) B.A., LLB
We are sad to announce the sudden passing of a loving father, wonderful son, great brother, uncle, great uncle and friend. Passed away at Vancover, BC on October 12, 2000 Ed (Junior) of Port Union, Newfoundland in his 47th year. Predeceased by his brother Raymond. Leaving to mourn are his daughter Charlotte 15 and son Alexander 13. Loving parents Edgar and Viola; brother and sisters, Sterling and family, Bernice and family, Chris and family, Michelle and family, Gloria and family, and Mark and family; grandmother Bertha Norman; special friend Debbie Cameron; nieces and nephews; friends and colleagues. Rested at Strathie's Funeral Home, Catalina, Newfoundland. Funeral took place Tuesday, October 17th from the United Church, Catalina. TUCKER, Roland
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Friday, October 13, 2000, Roland Tucker of Bunyans Cove, aged 66 years. Predeceased by his father Joseph, mother Ella Frances, brothers Chesley and Samuel. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Katie of 45 years; daughter Juanita (Wilfred Oldford), Peterborough, ON; son Rudy (Denise), Labrador City; grandchildren Devon Tucker, Colin Oldford and Adale Oldford; brothers William (Sandra), Fortune and Percy (Cecile), Montreal, PQ; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested and St. Paul's United Church, Bunyan's Cove. Funeral service took place on Monday, October 16, 2000 from St. Paul's United Church with interment at United Church Cemetery, Bunyan's Cove. In his memory donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

BARBOUR, Amy
Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on Oct. 17, 2000, Amy Barbour of Catalina (formerly of Port Rexton) aged 90 years, 11 months. Predeceased by husband James, (1967) and son George, (1995). Left with many loving memories are her three granddaughters: Mildred (Jim), Diane (Scott), Janice (Barry); daughter-in-law Ruby; six great-grandchildren, Karen, Stephen, Robbie, Andy, Bradley, and Nancy; brother Alfred Goldsworthy, Port Rexton; sister Effie Piercey, Port Rexton, and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Strathie's Funeral Home, Catalina. Funeral service took place Oct. 19, 2000 at Christ Church, Port Rexton. Interment at Anglican Cemetery, Port Union.

HARRIS, Violet M.
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on Monday Oct. 23, 2000, Violet M. Harris of Bonavista, aged 69 years. Predeceased by her son Barry, Jan. 15, 2000. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Augustus, sond: Edgar (Gussie) Mount Pearl; Terry (Patsy) Mount Pearl; Douglas (Melinda) Burgeo; Bob (Bonnie) Bonavista; daughters: Margaret (Gordon Cullimore) and Pauline (Jerry Russell) Bonavista; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; sister, Mildred Tremblett and brother, Edgar Marsh, Bonavista. Remains rested at Strathie's Funeral Home, Bonavista. Funeral service was held on Thursday, Oct. 26, from the Salvation Army Citadel.

SOPER, Beatrice
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday October 26, 2000, Lillian Beatrice Soper of North West Brook, aged 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Edward. Leaving to mourn memories are her sister Clara (Albert Cole), Grand Falls-Windsor; sisters-in-law Jane Soper, North West Brook and Hilda (Wesley Holloway), Lethbridge; brother-in-law Isaac Soper (Mary Ann), North West Brook; Ford Soper (Georgina), North West Brook; grandson: Floyd (Janice), North West Brook and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Rested at Emmanuel United Church, North West Brook. Funeral service took place on Saturday, October 28, 2000 from Emmanuel United Church, North West Brook with interment at United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel United Church.

BAILEY, Grace M.
Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on Sunday, October 29, 2000, Grace M. Bailey of Port Union, in her 90th year. Left with fond and loving memories are her only son James and his wife Kay of Port Union; three grandchildren Denice (Stanley Brown) of Shoal Harbour, Lewis (Natasha) of Gander and Kim (Robert Hollett) of Shoal Harbour; three great-grandchildren Matthew, Ericka and Nicholas. Remains rested at Strathie's Funeral Home, Catalina. Funeral service was held Wednesday, November 1, 2000. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Catalina. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

KEATS, Gladys
Passed peacefully away at North Haven Manor, Lewisporte on Tuesday, October 30, 2000, Annie Gladys Keats of Port Blandford, aged 86 years. Predeceased by husband James (1983), son Clayton (1988) and grandson Kevin. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughters Monnie (Late Gordon Hann), Port Blandford; Esther (Gary Ross), Lewisporte; Marcia Keats, Toronto, ON; and Cassie (Alex Simpson), Lower Sackville, NS; sons Harvey (Margie), Saint John, NB; Gary (Joyce), Gagetown, NB; Frank (Jean), Port Blandford; and Perry (Sheila), Fort McMurray, AB; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Alton United Church, Port Blandford. Funeral service took place on Thursday, November 2, 2000 from Alton United Church with interment at United Cemetery, Port Blandford.
