Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, Heber James Pitts of Clarenville, aged 69 years. Predeceased by his parents James and Henrietta; brother Leonard; brothers-in-law Frank Simmonds and Harry Frost. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Daphne of 20 years; daughter Elizabeth Pitts (Rob Morrisetta), Mississauga, ON; son Glen (Darlene), Clarenville; step-children Hedley (Lois), Suzette (Walter) and Danette (Rex); grandson Garrett; step-grandchildren Terri, Julia and Joshua; sister Joan Simmonds (Tom), Canning's Cove and Jean Frost, Clarenville; brothers Oliver (Athena) and Marvin (Grace), both of Canning's Cove; sisters-in-law Marie (Cyril) and Blanche (Armine); brothers-in-law Elliston (Jane), Clyde (Bev) and Wesley (Ivy); special aunt Blanche Mercer and a large circle of nieces, nephews, step-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Hubert; parents William and Elsie Watton and brother Johnny Watton. Left to cherish her life and example are her husband of 56 years Sidney, children Brian (Fronie), Barry (Stella), and Gail (Ken Sheppard), grandchildren Christopher (Natasha), Jonathan, Heidi, and Natalie Adams and Melanie and Garrett Sheppard, sisters-in-law Marguerite Pike (Winterton), Flo Palmer (Toronto), Blanche Adams (Clarenville), and brother-in-law Colin Adams (Glenna) of Lockport, Illinois, as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.
