Heber Pitts
Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, Heber James Pitts of Clarenville, aged 69 years. Predeceased by his parents James and Henrietta; brother Leonard; brothers-in-law Frank Simmonds and Harry Frost. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Daphne of 20 years; daughter Elizabeth Pitts (Rob Morrisetta), Mississauga, ON; son Glen (Darlene), Clarenville; step-children Hedley (Lois), Suzette (Walter) and Danette (Rex); grandson Garrett; step-grandchildren Terri, Julia and Joshua; sister Joan Simmonds (Tom), Canning's Cove and Jean Frost, Clarenville; brothers Oliver (Athena) and Marvin (Grace), both of Canning's Cove; sisters-in-law Marie (Cyril) and Blanche (Armine); brothers-in-law Elliston (Jane), Clyde (Bev) and Wesley (Ivy); special aunt Blanche Mercer and a large circle of nieces, nephews, step-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Friday, August 27, 2010 from St. Mary's Anglcian Church, Clarenville with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery. In his memory donations may be made to Daffodil Place, St. John's.

Audrey Marsh
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at the Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, September 2, 2010, Audrey Marsh of Little Hearts Ease, aged 78 years. Predeceased by her husband Hubert; parents William and Elsie Watton and brother Johnny Watton. Left with fond and loving memories her children Ernest (Brenda), Clyde (Caroll), Stewart (Lily), Irene (Wade Smith), Rick (Donna), Dennis (Corrine), Robert (Sheila) and Scott (Maxine); brothers Winston Watton (Eileen), Lester Watton (Gemima), Ira Watton (Nellie) and Roy (Linda); 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Hearts Ease. Funeral service took place on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from Bethel United Church, Little Hearts Ease with interment at United Cemetery, Little Hearts Ease. In her memory donations may be made to the United Church, Little Hearts Ease and Southwest Arm Fire Department.

Marilyn Hobbs
Passed peacefully away at the Bonavista Hospital on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the age of 59 years, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Marilyn Hobbs. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband Alvin; son Jeffery (Sherry) Bonavista; daughter Jennifer Ludlow (Rick) Red Deer, AB; grandchildren Kelsey, Kaylee, Klaire and Kristian; aunts Jennie Hobbs and Rita Penney, Shirley's Haven Catalina; sister in law Arlene Barker (Jim); brother in law Reginald Hobbs (Keels); plus many other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Philip's Anglican Church, Keels from where funeral services took place on Thursday, August 26, 2010, with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Keels. Dora Belle Sinclair
We regret to announce the peaceful passing of Dora Belle Sinclair, age 91, from Monroe, at the Gr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on August 29, 2010. Predeceased by parents, Alexander and Jessie Strong; brother, Clyde Strong; sisters, Minnie Hayward (Chesley) & Gertie Bracegirdle (Jeff); husband, Herbert; son, Otto; daughter, Belle & great grandson, Herbert. Leaving to mourn with many precious and loving memories are her children, Aneta Philips (Hedley), Beluah Chadwell (Ralph), Emanuel (Rowena- deceased), Delphine Oliver (David), Murlen (Sylvia), Janet Lambert (Lester) and Michael; brother, Martin Strong (Veta); 23 grandchildren ; great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the United Church, Harcourt, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Sharon Earle- Marshall, took place on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 with interment following. Lillie Adams
Passed away peacefully on Monday August 30, 2010 at the Dr G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville in her 91st year. Predeceased by her parents Senior Majors John and Louisa Pike, sister Brigadier Etta Pike, and brothers John and Laurie. Left to cherish her life and example are her husband of 56 years Sidney, children Brian (Fronie), Barry (Stella), and Gail (Ken Sheppard), grandchildren Christopher (Natasha), Jonathan, Heidi, and Natalie Adams and Melanie and Garrett Sheppard, sisters-in-law Marguerite Pike (Winterton), Flo Palmer (Toronto), Blanche Adams (Clarenville), and brother-in-law Colin Adams (Glenna) of Lockport, Illinois, as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends. Visitation held at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Thursday September 2 from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville. In her memory donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Clarenville, or a charity of one's choice.

Passed away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, Charles Way of Lethbridge, aged 100 years. Predeceased by wife Vera; daughter-in-law Loretta; sister Sarah Menchions and brother Reginald Way. Left with fond and loving memories his children Lloyd, Lethbridge, Florence Day (Harvey), Lethbridge, Eileen Russell (Robert), Lethbridge, Albert (Linda), Lethbridge, Donald (Jean), St. John's, Winston (Doreen), Moncton, NB, Wilfred (Carolann) Calley, AB, Charles Jr. (Glenys), Bloomfield, Glenn (Patti), Port Perry, ON and Bruce (Cathy), Mount Pearl; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the United Church, Lethbridge with interment at United Cemetery, Lethbridge. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Florence of 56 years; children Rosalind Matthews (Dean), Squamish, BC, Kay Keats (Earl Russell), Blaketown, Shena Quinton (Ashley Beaufield), Mount Pearl and Kevin Keats (Paula), Bloomfield; sister Mae Harris, Clarenville; grandchildren Shane Clarke, Laura Clarke, Josh Chatman, Katie Matthews, Samantha Keats, Morgan Quinton and Jordan Quinton; great grandson Dawson Carberry and a large circle of family and friends. It is with great sadness we announce the tragic passing of Allan Matthew Duffett, age 80, from Lower Lance Cove on September 21, 2010. Predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Matilada (nee- Ivany). Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, September 19, 2010, Gideon Frances Peddle of Clarenville, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his parents James and Miriam Peddle; brothers Archibald and William and sister Polina. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Viola of 54 years; children Gordon , Clarenville, Donald, Ottawa, Dennis (Susan), St. Catharines, Wanda (Morris), Halifax and Shawn (Kerry), Edmonton; sisters Gloria (Samuel), Lorraine (Daniel); Clarice (George) and Annie; brother Clarence (Alice); grandchildren Nicole, Michael, Breighann, Michelle, Erica, Stephanie, Alexander and Abigail; great-grandchildren Matthew, Chole and Owen and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from The Salvation Army Citadel with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery. Eldred John (Jack) Smith
Sept 17, 1939 - Sept 15, 2010
- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Smith formerly of Goosberry Cove. Predeceased by his son John (Buddy) Smith; parents Edgar and Delilah Smith (nee balsom); sister Eliza Cull (Graham); brothers Arthur (Violet) and Ed. Left to treasure his memory are his wife Freda (and her family in Alberta); his loving daughters Janet Hynes (Kenneth), Ferryland and Sheila Smith, St.John's; his nine grandchildren Rocky, Stephen ,Amber, Tarissa, Ryan, Sarah, Shelby, Natasha and Steven; sisters Janet Peyton (John deceased), Ivy Welsh (Nicholas) and Dorothy Miller (Ed); sister-in-law Mary Smith; brothers Joe (Nina),Claude (Marilyn), Clayton (Marie), as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many many friends. Visitation was held at Fewers Funeral Home in Little Hearts Ease. Funeral service took place on Friday Septmber 24, 2010 from St.Albans Anglican Church Gooseberry Cove with internment at the Old Anglican Cemetery in Gooseberry Cove.
