H. Jeffrey Grandy of Wolfville died suddenly at Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville, N.S., on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009.
He was born in Garnish, Newfoundland, September 1, 1916, son
of the late George and Elizabeth Grandy.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Frances (James); son, Barrie, and daughter-in-law,
Veronica, Charlottetown; grandchildren, Nancy Grandy McGregor (Sean), Edmonton;
Hugh Grandy (Peggy), Ottawa; Jeff Grandy and Peter Grandy of Charlottetown;
great-granddaughter, Rian McGregor, Edmonton; sister, Audrey Grandy, Garnish;
sisters-in-law, Roberta Grandy, Saint John; Dorothy Grandy, Windsor, Ont.;
as well as many nieces and nephews. Also survived by stepdaughters, Dorothy
Gratto (Tony), Susan Arbeau (Neil); step grandchildren, John Gratto, Suzanne
Miller, Ben Arbeau, Tim Arbeau, Becky Arbeau; and six step great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his first wife, Olga (Beazley); his son, D. Hugh; and his brothers,
Gilbert and Hugh.
Resting at the White Family Funeral Home, 100 Cornwallis Street, Kentville,
N.S., for visitation on Sunday, November 8, from 7-9 p.m.; and funeral service
November 9 at 10 a.m.

St., Halifax, N.S., B3N 2Y2, or a charity of your choice.
GOSSE, Mairi
The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Prince
County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, March 14, 2009, of Mairi
Gosse, of Craig Avenue, Summerside, and Chapel Arm,
N.L., aged 83 years.
Born in Oban, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and
Catherine (MacKinnon) MacDougall. Survived by her husband Kenneth;
children Danny (Carol), Rick (Jennifer), Heather (Cyril) Penton, Lorna
(Bill) Guppy, Ian (Jeanne), John and Sheila (Michel) Ouellet; 14 grandchildren;
14 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Smith, England; and by a brother
Danny MacDougall, Scotland. Predeceased by two grandchildren. Resting
at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, where funeral
service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in Newfoundland.
Visiting hours Monday from 7-9 p.m. only. In lieu of flowers, memorial

Parry (nee
Wells) of Charlottetown and formerly of St. John's, Newfoundland, age
78 years. Mother of Kenneth (Heather), Randy and Michelle Praught. Grandmother
of Rhiannon Parry. Sister of Geneva Bowering and Alfred Wells. Predeceased
by her husband, John Allen Parry; and by brothers, Sam and Herb Wells; and

Edward (Ted) Whelan,
Cumberland, age 68 years. Beloved husband and "Best Bud" of Vaunda
(nee Todd). Dear father of Lisa, Ottawa; and Mark, Charlottetown. Brother of
Barry, Jeanette, Rosanne, Eddie, Marie and lovingly remembered by his special
cousin, Marion Baker, all of Newfoundland and Labrador. Also remembered by
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, William and
Rose (Doyle) Whelan, and his sister, Margaret. Resting at Belvedere Funeral
Home until Thursday at 9:30 a.m., then to St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cornwall,
