YOUNG WOMAN DIES IN COLLISION
A 20-year-old Terrenceville woman has been identified as the victim of
a car-tractor trailer truck accident in that community November
24. Burin
Peninsula District RCMP said Peggy Ann Clarke died in
the collision when the vehicle she was a passenger in collided with the
parked truck around 1 a.m. Both vehicles then burst into flames. The
male driver of the car was taken to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre
in Burin and then transferred to the Health Science Centre in St. John's
in serious condition. Police, volunteer fire departments from Terrenceville
and Grand le Pierre and local ambulance service all responded to the
accident. An investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing.
The RCMP reported there have been 30 fatal motor vehicles collisions
this year in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Passed peacefully away on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at
the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in the presence of his family, Frederick
(Fred) Douglas of Grand Bank, age 77. Predeceased by son Wayne
and daughter Marlie. He leaves to mourn, wife, Martha, son Frank (Cora),
Grand Bank and daughter Maxine (Michael) Flynn, Chapel’s Cove.
Grandchildren, Lori, Sheri, Jennifer, Michael, Jessica and Emilie.
Great-grandchildren Coady, Jordyn and Mason. Brother, John Douglas,
sisters Georgie (Maude) Thorne and Blanche Pike, also a large circle
of family and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Majors Frank
and Rita Pittman from the Salvation Army, Grand Bank on Tuesday, November
13th at 2 p.m. Interment
followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Music was provided by David

Originally of Grand Falls, passed peacefully away November 13,
age 77. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce; and precious daughter,
Kathryn. Leaving to forever cherish his life with them are daughters,
Carol (John) and Nancy (Shane); son, Michael (Alana); sisters, Bernice
(Gerald) and Barbara (Calvin); sisters-in-law, Shirley and Marie; and

and Jacob who loved their “Gramps” beyond all earthly

November 10, 2007 Rebecca Walters, formerly of Bay L’argent,
age 102 years. Predeceased by parent John and Sarah Pope; daughter Lillian;
sons Charlie, Maxwell and William John; and step-son Russell Walters.
She leaves to mourn: 2 daughters Elsie Burton at Grand Bank and Janie
Dodge at Harbour Mille; 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and
26 great-great-grandchildren, step son Stanley Walters at Grand Bank,
