ANDERSEN - Randy, Lorna, Paul, Caroline and Ian are happy to announce the birth of their precious daughter and sister, Leah Jean, on April 1, 2009. Leah is welcomed with love by grandparents Raoul and Irene Andersen and Jean (the late Al) Power. Thank you to Dr. Kravitz and the staff of the caseroom and 5NB.

BARTLETT - Brian and Sarah (Connolly) are thrilled to announce the arrival of their precious baby girl, Emily Joe, born April 4, 2009, weighing 8 lbs. 14 ozs. Welcoming Emily Joe are first time Nannies Mary Connolly and Pauline Bartlett, Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Danny and Uncle Jeff. Watching over Emily Joe from Heaven are her Guardian Angels, Poppies Gerry Connolly and Joe Bartlett. Mommy and Daddy would like to thank Dr. Howse and Dr. Collins, case room nurses Tammy and Annette and the staff of 5NB for their excellent care. Mommy and Emily Joe would like to send lots of hugs and kisses to Daddy for all his love and support, we love you!

BARTLETT/MURRAY - David Bartlett and Jennie Murray are delighted to announce the safe arrival at the Health Sciences Centre of Allison Flora Bartlett, slightly ahead of schedule, at 8:15 p.m. on April 29, 2009. This eight-pound beauty is the first grandchild for Cathie and Ches Lethbridge of Goose Bay, and Connie and Ted Bartlett of Riverview, N.B. Waiting to meet their niece are Jennifer and Susan Bartlett, and Greg Murray. Our thanks to Bev and Kay of the case room staff, and the nurses on the maternity floor.

BRANTON/SCANLON - Born to Dean and Christa-Jo on April 12, 2009, at the HSC, a precious son, Maxwell Joseph. A special brother for Nicholas. Proud grandparents are Joseph and Marion Scanlon, St. John's.

CAREW - Big Sister Simone along with Mommy and Daddy, Regina (Maher) and Bren, are very excited to announce the arrival of their baby girl Sophie Lauren, born April 17/09, 6:06 a.m. at the HSC, weighing 7 lbs. 9 oz. Welcoming Sophie are proud grandparents Linda and John Maher, Rita and Bren Carew, and great-grandmother Maude Dwyer. Mommy would like to thank Daddy, Nanny Linda, Nurse Margaret Ann Dooling for Sophie's safe and fast delivery, Dr. Jennifer Mercer, Case Room and 5NB staff, who were all very supportive during Sophie's delivery and stay. As well, thanks to Nanny and Poppy Carew for looking after big sister Simone. Most importantly, a very special thanks and appreciation goes out to Dr. S. Healey, Dr. T. O'Grady, All the staff at Womens Health and the Fetal Assessment Unit. You helped us with the miracle of both our girls and we feel truly blessed with all the love, joy and happiness that they bring into our lives every second of every day. You all do an exceptional job, Thank you so much.

CARRIGAN / CHAFE - Colin Carrigan and Andrea Chafe proudly announce the birth of their son, Eamon Thomas Carrigan, on April 20, 2009. His sister, Bridget Jane, confirms that he is "a cute little fella." Sharing our joy are Nanny Margaret and Grampy Ron Carrigan, aunts Maureen, Teresa and Melissa, and uncles Russ, Scott and Cordell. Grandparents Barbara and Brian Chafe smile down upon him.

CONWAY/TAPPER - Quinn is thrilled to announce that he is a big brother. Little sister, Mattie Tapper Conway arrived on April 19, 2009, at 7:51 a.m. weighing 5 lbs. 11 oz. Proud parents, Annette and Colleen, thank God for Mattie's safe and speedy arrival. Welcoming Mattie are proud grandparents Noel and Sandra Conway and Gen Tapper. Poppy Tapper is watching over her from heaven. We especially wish to thank Sue at the MFAU (again!), the case room staff, especially Karen and Lisa (again!) and all the nurses who stayed past the shift change for our little girl's birth and for their words of encouragement. A special thank you to Dr. Bartellas and Dr. Caines for a safe delivery. To Olive Goobie, once again, thanks. Our eternal gratitude to Dr. Sarah Healey for helping make our second miracle come true. You are all amazing at what you do. To all our family and friends for your support and love, especially Aunt Monica and Uncle Bruce for taking care of Quinn while we waited for Mattie.

COOK - Brian and Anna (Locke) proudly anounce the birth of their second daughter, Emma Margaret, born on April 28th, 2009, at the HSC in St. John's, weighing 7 lbs, 11 oz. Welcoming Emma are her sister Norah and her proud grandparents Hubert and Marguerite Locke of Green's Harbour and John and Gail Cook of St. John's. Special thanks to Doctors Penton and Strand for their excellent pre-natal care and to Dr. Stringer and the caseroom staff for a safe delivery. Momma and Emma also thank Daddy for being the best husband and father ever!

DAY - "Double the trouble, double the fun; our second baby boy has come!" Brian, Patti (Knight) and big brother Carter are thrilled with the arrival of Clarke Alexander on April 30, 2009. Weighing 5 lbs. 15 oz., Clarke is the second pride and joy for Alex and Jill Knight and thirteenth for Georgina Day. Clarke is also welcomed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Thank you to Dr. Colleen Cook and staff at HSC.

EARLE-CLARKE - On April 27, 2009, Shawna and Keith of Gander were overjoyed with the arrival of their second daughter, Ava Bethany, weighing 8 lbs. 10 ozs. A baby sister for Lily, who is now three. Proud grandparents are Alma and Claude Clarke of St John's and Cavelle and Brian Earle of Gander.

FIELD - Dakota Field is a big brother! Dakota is thrilled to announce the early, but safe arrival of his little sister. Cheyenne Maria Field made her debut on April 1, 2009 at 10:44 a.m. at the Health Science Centre weighing 5 lbs. 11 oz. Proud parents are Val Field & Cynthia Snook. Ecstatic about the arrival of their grand-daughter are Goretta Snook of Hr. Breton and Val & Barb Field of St. John's. Smiling down on Cheyenne from heaven is her Poppy & guardian angel Manuel Snook. Also welcoming Cheyenne's arrival are Aunt Cornelia, Uncle Matthew, Aunt Kelly & cousins Kiana, Kelsey & Adam. A special thanks to Dr. Pike for her pre-natal care, Dr. O'Grady & her team for a safe delivery, especially case room nurses Lisa & Juanita, and all of the nurses of 5NB. Mommy & Cheyenne would like to thank Daddy for being a fabulous coach once again.

FINLAY - Sheldon and Kim are overjoyed to announce the arrival of their first son, Maddox Thomas, born April 16th, 2009 at 7:51 pm, weighing 7 lbs. Proud grandparents are Cecil & Ann Stamp of St. Vincent's and Eugene & Christine Finlay of St. Shotts, Great- Grandmother Nanny Pittman, Uncles: Ivan, Chris, Darrell, Corey & Special Aunt Kerry along with little cousins Colby, Kayla & Lauren. A special Thank You to Dr. Kennedy and all the nurses at the Health Sciences for their excellent care during delivery and hospital stay.

FLYNN/SLADE-FLYNN - Little yawns, sleepy sighs, nursery rhymes and lullabies. Tiny hands, tiny feet... There is someone new for you all to meet! At 11:09 on the morning of April 3, 2009, Nick and Janet welcomed with love their first child, Reese Alexandra, weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces. Reese is the fourth grandchild for Gordon and Agnes Slade, Mt. Pearl and the fourth grandchild and first granddaughter for Edward, Nova Scotia and Paulette Flynn, Placentia. Reese is also welcomed by Aunt Paula, Uncle Vic and cousins Vijay, Adriah and Kaidan, Mt. Pearl, Uncle Jerry, Nicole and cousin Ryan, Placentia, Uncle Jim, Aunt Heather and cousins Keegan and Nicholas, Nova Scotia, Aunt Faith and Uncle Craig, Paradise and Auntie Lynette, Placentia. Reese would like to express particular gratitude to Dr. Pauline Duke and Dr. Heidi Kravitz for their excellent prenatal care. Further thanks to Dr. Heidi Kravitz, Dr. Erica Howse and Dr. Suppiah for facilitating Reese's safe arrival. Special recognition as well to the case room and 5 North B nurses.
Mommy and Daddy are full of bliss. They have plenty of cuddles for their new "little miss".

HICKEY - Rebecca Hall and Rick Hickey proudly announce the birth of their daughter Ella Victoria Hickey on April 1, 2009 at 4:56 p.m. Ella was born at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces and 20.25" in length. Thank you to Nanny Wall (Judy Wall) for supporting mommy and daddy through the labour and delivery!

JOHNSON - Raymond, Sharlene and Big brother Cameron are thrilled to announce the arrival of their beautiful princess Mackenna Rae, on April 22, 2009, weighing 6 lbs., 8 ozs. Welcoming Mackenna are her grandparents, Linda & Ian Osbourne, Susan Johnson and her very special guardian angel Ralph Johnson. Much thanks & gratitude to Dr. Reid and nursing staff of NICU & PICU for taking such good care of our little angel during her hospital stay. We are truly blessed to have such a little fighter!

JONES - Linda and Darren are thrilled to announce the arrival of Ethan Clarence born on April 11, 2009, weighing 6 lbs. Welcoming Ethan are grandparents Tom and Madeline Murphy and Pius and Marie Jones. Mommy and Ethan would like to thank the doctors and nurses and Daddy and Aunt Mel for their love and support during delivery.

MCCARTHY - Perry and Catrina (Piercey) are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their precious baby boy. Thomas Perry was born April 28, 2009, at 7:35 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. 7 ozs. Welcoming Thomas are proud grandparents Doug Piercey Sr. (Phyllis), Pearl McCarthy and great-grandmother Lucy McCarthy. Also welcoming Thomas are Aunts and Uncles Karen and Craig, Doug Jr. and Renee, Jonathan and cousins Kyle, Ryley, Karaleena and Alexander. Watching over Thomas from heaven are his guardian angels Nanny (Kathleen) Piercey and great-grandfather William Thomas McCarthy. A big thank you to Dr. Brown for excellent prenatal care and Dr. Healey for Thomas' safe arrival. Thank you to the nurses in the case room and on the maternity ward. An extra special thank you to Auntie Carol Ann for helping Daddy during Thomas' delivery and her continued support since his arrival. Mommy and Thomas want to thank Daddy for taking such good care of us, we love you right up to the moon ... and back.

NEWHOOK/CLARKE - Susan and Jared are overjoyed to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl Emma Louise on April 13, 2009 weighing 7 lb. 13 oz. Sharing their joy are Nanny Verna Newhook, first-time grandparents Barry & Phyllis Clarke, and great-grandparents Ida Seymour and Bram & Lucy Clarke. Emma's guardian angel, Poppy Leslie Newhook, is watching over her from heaven and keeping her safe every day. Emma is welcomed by aunts and uncles: Marsha, Paul, Leigh Anne, Barry and Jennifer. Her cousins Sam, Ben, Kathleen, Max, Henry and Charlie are very excited by her arrival and look forward to lots of fun times together. Mommy and Daddy would like to thank the staff of the case room and 5NB for the safe delivery and care of their beautiful baby girl, and Drs. Pike and Gibbons for the wonderful prenatal care.

NIXON (Nee Prince) - Janet and Bill are delighted to announce the birth of their precious baby boy, James Albert, born on April 8, 2009, weighing 7 lbs. 14 ozs. James is welcomed by his loving big sister, Maggie, proud grandparents Margie and Lindsay Prince of Bishop's Falls and Betty Nixon of Outer Cove. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Johanne Lacelle for her excellent prenatal care and delivery. Thanks also to the nurses who took care of us at the WHC and a wide circle of family and friends who've supported us since James' arrival.

PATEY\O'DEA - Daneile, Chris and big sister Bella would like to announce the arrival of their baby boy, Daniel Christopher, born on April 29, 2009 weighing 7 lbs 13 oz. Welcoming Daniel are his grandparents Frank and Barbara O'Dea, St. John's and Paul and Janet Patey, St. Anthony. A special thank you to Dr. Healy and staff.

PHILPOTT - Tom and Margaret Philpott are happy to announce the birth of their second grandchild, Leo Mulhern Philpott, born April 9, 2009, at the New Women's College Hospital, Toronto, to their son Tony and his wife Sheila Mulhern. Big sister Stella along with grandparents Cathy, Bob, Mike and Kate of Ontario are also thrilled with Leo's arrival. Thank God for our Precious Easter Gift.

SMART/STRANGE - Susan and Sam are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Hannah Grace. Hannah was born at 10:17 p.m. on April 6, 2009, weighing 9 lbs. and measuring 20 inches long. Sharing in their joy are proud grandparents Bonnie and Brian (Smart), Donna and John (Worthman), as well as excited aunts Heather (Smart) and Susan (Strange). Special thanks to Dr. Lacelle and all the staff of 5NB for their excellent care.

SQUIRES/POPE - Rob Squires and Sarah Pope are very proud and thrilled to announce the birth of their first child, a daughter, Mia Frances Squires. Mia was born on April 1, 2009 at 11:22 a.m., weighing 9 lbs. 15 oz. First time grandparents Lin and Frank Pope, Bill and Karen Squires, as well as third time grandparents, Carmel and George Drover are so very proud to welcome their little angel. An ecstatic Marcella Crane was also made a third time Great-Grandmother. Also excited to welcome Mia are Uncle John, Uncle Travis, Uncle Jeremy, Uncle Jeff, as well as Godmother Andrea Graham, and Godfather Michael Deir. Many thanks go out to Dr. Sheila McGrath, Dr. Nick Kum, Dr. Karen Splinter, and Dr. O'Grady as well as all of the wonderful staff of the Health Sciences Center for your very valued care and guidance throughout this very exciting experience. Finally, to everyone who offered their support throughout the long wait for Mia's arrival, our sincerest love and thanks to you all. No words could truly capture how grateful we are to have you in our lives. Mia is one lucky little girl!

STEVENSON - Perry & Susan are thrilled to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl, SADIE ROSE, on April 20, 2009, at 9:19 p.m., weighing 7 lbs., 8 oz. TAPPER - Twins!!! Jamie & Krista (Scott) are thrilled to announce the early but safe arrival of their precious twins, Maddison Hope & Jaxon Scott, on April 7th, 2009, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, AB. Maddison was born at 11:01 pm weighing 4 lbs 15 3/4 ozs and Jaxon soon followed at 11:02 pm weighing 5 lbs 1/2 oz. They are welcomed by proud grandparents Gerry & Joan Scott and Bud & Pearl Tapper. Mommy & Daddy would like to thank Drs. Mayo, Scott & Sagle for their excellent care before & during the pregnancy. They would also like to thank uncles Kyle, Jason, Jeremy & Pierre for taking care of mommy during the months she was on bed rest. Also, many thanks to the grandparents for coming to Alberta to help once the twins were born. And finally, mommy, Maddison & Jaxon would like to thank daddy for all his love and support. We Love You!

THIBAULT (MURRAY) - Jason Thibault and Melissa Murray are thrilled to announce the birth of their son, Parker Jason Thibault, weighing 6 lbs. 2 ozs. and measuring 19 inches. Parker was born Thursday, April 2, 2009, at 12:30 a.m. Proud siblings are big sister Savannah-Rose. Proud grandparents are Nana and Poppy Thibault, Grandma Murray and Pop Pop Skanes and Poppy and Nanny Murray. Proud great-grandparents are Grandad and Nanny Cooper, Grandma Thibault, Poppy Hiscock and Nanny Murray. Parker is also loved by Aunt Jeanine and Uncle Matthew, Uncle Steaphan, Aunt Amanda and cousin Nicholas, Uncle Jason, Uncle Billy, Aunt Robyn, cousin Emilee and cousin William. We would also like to thank all the wonderful staff in the case room that night. Welcome to the world baby Parker. We all love you very much.

WINSOR - Sheldon and Rebekah (Sheppard) are overjoyed to introduce the newest member of their family, Tanner Jake, born on April 10, 2009 at 6:34 a.m., weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz. Tanner is lovingly welcomed by big sisters, Meredith and Naomi, as well as proud grandparents, Barry and Lynda Sheppard, and Gerald and Sandra Winsor, and great-grandparents, Eldon and Marie Sheppard, and Clem Tremblett.
