CHAFE, Robena
Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home on Thursday, August 8, 1996, aged 82 years. Leaving to mourn her daughter Doreen Whitten (Victor) at Grand Falls-Windsor; granddaughter Renee Monteith (Kent) at Saint John, New Brunswick; great-granddaughter Alexandera Monteith; brothers Claude Vallis (Edith), Jack Vallis (Mary) both of St. John's; sister Queenie Driscoll of Surrey, British Columbia and other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at Barrett's Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 1996. Inurnment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Petty Harbour.
Elliott, Raymond (RCMP)
A brave and special man left our world on August 19, 1996,
age 54 years. Ray died at the Elisabeth Bruyere Palliative Care Center
in Ottawa, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis and Cancer.
Left with loving memories are his wife Bethany; sons; Tom and Jonathon;
daughter Jennifer; mother Jessie; grandmother Beatrice Budgell; brother
Everett (Elizabeth); sisters; Nina Kinnon, Shirley Forward (Lloyd),
Ruby Burt (David). Predeceased by his father Simeon and brothers; Ron
and Tom. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to special friends;
Eileen and Carol and special cousin Joan who have supported Ray over
the past four months. A Funeral Service was held at the Orleans United
Church, Ottawa on Friday, August 23rd, 1996, followed by cremation
at Beechwood Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis
Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the
family.

Murphy, Sandra Marie (nee Pendergast)
Passed peacefully away in St. John’s on Sunday, August
6th, 1995, Sandra Marie Murphy (nee Pendergast),
age 38 years. Leaving to mourn two loving daughters; Michelle (friend
Rodger) and Danielle; and a dear grandson Bradley; husband Stan; two
sisters; Wendy Kavanagh (husband Noel), Rosalie French (husband Harry);
three brothers; Glen, Randy and Brian Pendergast (wife Judy); and her
loving parents; Michael and Elsie Pendergast; and grandmother Mrs. Nellie
Conway; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at

Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Funeral Service to take place at Holy Rosary
Parish, Portugal Cove, Tuesday, August 8th, 1995 at 11 am.

MURRAY, Arthur Gordon
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on August 28, 1996 Arthur Gordon Murray, age 90 years. Former businessman and founder of The Sports Shop. Left with loving memories, his wife Isobel; one brother Neyle, Ottawa; nieces and nephews in England and St. John's; and also other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church on Friday, August 30, 1996 at 2 p.m. Interment at the General Protestant Cemetery, Waterford Bridge Road. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
