ATTWOOD, William Douglas
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on December 12, 1997, aged 67 years. Predeceased by parents, sister Nita Crabbe and brother-in-law Ed Hodder. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories wife Rema (nee White); two daughters: Deborah Scaplen (Tony) and Heather Rowsell (Craig); five grandchildren: Jeffrey, Krista, Allison, Laura and Stephen; two brothers Cyril (Jan) and Gerald (Muriel); seven sisters: Anne James; Louise Austin (Bruce); Inez Keeping (Roy); Joyce Kelsey (Roger); Barbara Bursey (Kim); Joan Miller (Roy) and Judy Hodder; brother-in-law Ron Crabbe; mother-in-law Clara White; four sisters-in-law: Marie Parsons (Ward), Isabelle Hewitt (David), Linda Corston (George), Glenys Simmons (Tom), also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, December 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, December 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service on Monday, December 15, 1997 at 11 a.m. from St. James United Church, Elizabeth Avenue. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations to his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of one's choice.

CREWE, Hilda May
Died peacefully at Escasoni December 10, 1997, in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband, Nimshi 1972. Leaving to mourn with loving memories: sons: Richard (Elizabeth), George (Phyllis); daughters: Catherine (Del) Miller, Vancouver, Margaret (John) Small, Ruth (Dr. David) Brough, Vancouver; sisters: Nellie Fraise, Sophie Zawada, U.S.A.; brother Rex Tilley, Eastport; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; special niece Hilda Smith. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation hours 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, December 11. Funeral from St. Thomas' Anglican Church at 2 p.m. Friday, December 12, 1997. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.

Daniels, Gordon C. Sr.
Passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 13th, 1997, Gordon Daniels, aged 64 years. Predeceased by his daughter Janet King in 1987. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Winnifred (nee Howell); sons; Derrick and Gordon Jr. (Kim); daughters; Wanda Nicholl (Wayne), Dawna Ferguson (Scott) and Linda; son-in-law David King; beloved grandchildren; Adam, Evan, Matthew, Mark, Derrick Jr., Ryan, Jessie, Kari, Jillian and Shannon; sisters; Doris Field (Verne) and Florence Perry; other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, until 12 noon Tuesday. Funeral Service to take place on Tuesday, December 16th, 1997 at 2 pm from Gower Street United Church with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory by be made to a charity of one’s choice.

GOODRIDGE, Honorable Noel H.A., former Chief Justice of Newfoundland
Passed peacefully at home in the presence of his family on Friday, December 12, 1997, Hon. Noel H. A. Goodridge. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Isabelle (Galway); four children: Alan (Susan); William (Janet); Douglas (Nanette); Maria (Scott Moffatt); two sisters: Penelope Crane (Norman); Diane Clarke (Joseph), Dartmouth, N.S.; 10 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral service will be held at the Anglican Cathedral on Monday, December 15, 1997 at 2:30 p.m. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation.

Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Thursday, December 11, 1997, age 74 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Nellie (Meade): three sons; Graham, Ottawa, Jimmy and wife Lynn, Bay Bulls, Noel, Halifax, one daughter, Betty and son-in-law Gerard Halleran; three brothers, Gerald in Toronto, Edgar (Emma), Holyrood, Jack (Margaret) Bishops Falls; five sisters: Mary Barron, St. John’s, Margaret Bulko (Joe), Maryland, USA., Ursula Kieley, Ottawa, Laura Williams, Ferryland, Shelia Morry, Ferryland: six grand children, Andrea, Melissa, Shawn, Amanda, Kerri-Lynn and Keith, as well as many nieces and nephews and large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Faheys Funeral Home, Fermeuse. Funeral mass on Sunday, Dec 14, at 2:30 p.m. from Holy Trinity Church, Ferryland. Internment in the R.C. Cemetery, Ferryland.

Passed peacefully away Friday, Dec. 5, 1997. Leaving to mourn wife Lillian; children, Bob (Jacinta), Linda Furlong (Barry), Anne, Lorraine Whelan (Chris), Marnie (Dave Aker), Shelley, Jim (Kim Button); 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Stan (Patricia) and Gus; one sister Dot; lifelong friend, Doug Parsons (Patricia). Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral Mass on Monday Dec. 8, 1997 at 11 a.m. from St. Teresa's Church. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
