Chafe, Eleanor (Nee Boone- Walsh)
Passed peacefully away on Sunday, February 18th, 1996 at
the Hoyles Escasoni Home, Eleanor (Nellie) Walsh (Boone) Chafe.
Predeceased by her first husband Peter R. Boone, long time C.N.R. employee.
Left to morn with fond and loving memories her husband William (Bill)
chafe; five sons; John (wife Marjory), Peter (wife Alice), Albert (wife
Margaret), Jim (wife Margie) and Edward; also four step-children; Colleen,
Stephen, Danny and David (wife Patricia); 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
one sister Mary Lagana (Frank), Montreal; also many other relatives
and friends. Remains resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant
Road. Mass at Holy Rosary Church, Portugal Cove, Wednesday, February
21st. 1996 at 11 am.. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Portugal
Cove.
Knight, Weston
Veteran WW11. Passed away at the Health Sciences Center on February
14th, 1996,
Weston Knight, aged 78 years. Predeceased by his parents John
and Alfreda Knight, brothers; Maxwell, John and William Knight, sisters;
Lydia Williams and Marjorie Foley. Leaving to cherish his memory are
brothers; Walter Knight (wife Audrey), Albert Knight (wife Mildred),
Pouch Cove; sisters; Vera Staubitzer (husband Werner), Pouch Cove,
Mary Skiffington, St. John’s; also many nieces, nephews other
relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329
Freshwater Road, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Thursday and Friday. Funeral
Service from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 17th,
1996 at 2 pm.. Interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Pouch Cove.**
Stone, Dorothy I. (nee Martin)
Passed away at St. Clare’s Palliative Care on Monday, February
12th, 1996, Dorothy I. Stone, aged 75 years. Predeceased
by husband Eugene (Hughie) in 1973. Leaving to mourn three sons; Eugene
(Lou), Orono, Ontario, Dennis (Duane), Mount Pearl, Randy (Elaine), St.
John’s;
niece Cynthia Coffen and great-niece Heather, St. John’s; brothers;
Walter and Gerald, Harbour Grace; sisters; Margaret Murray and Helen
Coffin, Kitchener, Ontario, Joan Wingfield, Harbour Grace; grandchildren;
Wendy, Christopher, Susie, Eugene and Jennifer (Ed); great-grandson Dennis
Banfield; also special friend and companion Eric Noseworthy. Resting
at Carnell’s
Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 10 am – 12 noon, 2-4 pm
and 7-9 pm. Tuesday and from 10 am – 1 pm Wednesday. Funeral Service
from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 14th, 1996 at
3:30 pm.. Cremation to follow. Private family interment. Flowers gratefully
accepted.
Woodman, Esther (nee West)
Passed peacefully away at the Glenbrook Lodge on Monday, February
12th, 1996, Esther Woodman (nee West), aged 90 years,
formerly of Garnish and New Harbour. Predeceased by husband Nehemiah
Woodman, New Harbour. Leaving to mourn her brother Clayton West, Grand
Bank; two sisters; Frances Boutiller and Livy Walters both of Halifax;
step-daughter Viola Higdon; step-daughter-in-law Muriel Woodman, both
of New Harbour; step-son Lloyd (Carrie) Woodman, Winterton; five grandchildren;
eighteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends, especially
the residents and staff of Glenbrook Lodge. Resting at Carnell’s
Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Tuesday, February
13th, 1996. Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 14th, 1996
at 2:30 pm from the Salvation Army Temple, Torbay Road. Interment to
follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, donations in her memory may be
made to the Glenbrook Lodge.
