Fitzgerald, Daniel Lawrence (Danny)
Passed away suddenly at the Janeway Child Health Care Centre on Wednesday, January 24, 1996, age 21 years. Leaving to cherish his memory are his parents Michael and Maureen; brother Scott; grandparents; Angela and Jack Coleman and Monica King; Auntie Angle and Uncle Sandy Gibbons, Uncle Mike and Aunt Irene Coleman, Aunt Joan and Uncle Bob Esbary, Chelmsford, Ontario, Aunt Helen and Uncle Mike Nash, Brampton, Ontario; a number of cousins in Newfoundland, Ontario and the U.S.A.; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road after 7 P.M., Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Queen of Peace Parish on Saturday, January 27, 1996 at 2 P.M. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Danny's memory may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association of Newfoundland.

Hurley, Elizabeth (Betty) (nee McCarthy)
Age 78. Passed away at St. Clare’s Palliative Care Unit, January 2nd, 1996, after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by husband John (Jack), April 1990. Leaving to mourn three sons; Bill and wife Liz, Mount Pearl, Jack and wife Sharon, Portugal Cove, Paul and wife Karen, St. John’s; three daughters; Pat McDonald and husband Tom, St. John’s, Madonna Moffatt and husband Jim, Nepean, Ontario, Catherine Teed and husband Peter, Saint John, N.B., one sister, Josephine McCallie (Fred), Sweetwater, Tennessee; one brother, Tom McCarthy (Betty),St. John’s; nineteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also a large number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home. Funeral Mass from St. Patrick’s Church Friday, January 5th, 1996 at 9:30 am.. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to St. Clare’s PCU or a charity of one’s choice.

MURPHY, Sheila
Died suddenly on Wednesday, January 31st, 1996. Daughter of the Late Clem J. And Catherine Murphy. Also predeceased by her brothers: Gordon, Robert, Gerard and Stan. Leaving to mourn her sister Margaret and husband Jim Field and family, Toronto; brother Ted and wife Berry and family, St. John's; also nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her special friends at Kelly Brook Apartments. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. Funeral on Saturday, February 3rd, 1996 to St. Teresa's Church for Mass at 9:30 a.m.

Pardy, Richard Garland (Gary)
Passed peacefully away January 1st, 1996 at the Grace General Hospital, Richard Garland Pardy of St. John’s (formerly of Bishop’s Falls), age 67. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Grace (nee Wellon); children; Robert (Velma), Oshawa, Ontario, Craig (Mary), Edmonton, Alberta, Gillian England (Ron), Quesnel, B.C., Susan Williams (Greg), Mount Pearl and Trent at home; his cherished grandchildren; Tanya, Heidi, Terri and Tyler Pardy, Michael and Brian England, Dawn and Lori Williams; brothers; James and Harry; sisters; Ida Stuckless, Annie Champion (Lem) and Dulcie Holloway (Wilson); sister-in-law Frances Fox (Jack); special niece Rev. Marion Pardy; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Wednesday and 10 am – 3 pm on Thursday. Funeral Service at Barrett’s Chapel 3:30 pm on Thursday, January 4th, 1996. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre or a charity of one’s choice.
