Bolger, David J.
Passed peacefully away on Saturday, July 20th, 1996 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, David J. Bolger, aged 86 years. Leaving to mourn one brother Edward. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home on 84 LeMarchant Road. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 22nd, 1996 at 10:30 am from Holy Rosary Church in Portugal Cove. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. No flowers by request.

Ellis, Allan Knight
Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park Nursing Home, St. John’s, on Saturday, July 20th, 1996, Allan Knight Ellis, in his 89th year. Past Master of Masonic Lodge St. Andrew and a long-time member of the District Grand Lodge of Scotland. Leaving to mourn his devoted and loving wife Allison; brother-in-law Douglas Strong; and his loving nieces. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Sunday, July 21st. 1996 . Funeral Service 2 pm Monday, July 22nd, 1996 from the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador or a charity of one’s choice.

FUREY, Sister Rosalita, R.S.M.
Passed away peacefully, after a long illness, at McAuley Convent on Sunday, July 7, 1996, aged 53 years. Predeceased by her father, Leo. Leaving to mourn besides the Sisters of Mercy, her mother, Mary; two sisters: Carmelita (Gerald) and Mary (Michael); five brothers: George (Karen), Bill, Leo (Jean), Michael, and Chuck (Cindy); seven nephews and six nieces, and many relatives, friends and former students, physicians and staff members at McAuley Convent and the Dialysis Unit at the General Hospital. Resting at McAuley Convent, 250 Waterford Bridge Road. Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church on Wednesday, July 10, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Belvedere Cemetery, St. John's.

Meade, Veronica - Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care on July 8, 1996, age 72 years, formerly of Ferryland. Leaving to mourn husband Cecil, daughter, Bertha (Billy) Smith; eight grandchildren: Wayne, Wanda (John), Gary (Jackie), Keith (Tanya), Greg (Kellie), Carolyn (Vince), Colin and Paul: three great-garndchildren; Megan, Dylan and Jamie; four brothers; Jimmy, (Dolly) O'Keefe, Albert, Leo, and Harold O'Keefe of Ferryland; one sister Teresa (Hebert) Barnable, sisters-in-law: Kathleen (Jim) O'Brien, Nellie (Doug) Morey, and Gertie Trainor; brother-in-law James (Patricia Meade); also her devoted and caring homecare workers; Carm, Rita, Sarah, Bride, Maureen, and Bertha; a large circle of relatives and friends. remains resting at Faheys's Funeral Home, Fermeuse. Funeral on Thursday, July 11, at 11 A.M. from the R.C. Church in Ferryland. Internment in the R.C. cemetery in Ferryland.

Owens, Anthony
Accidentally killed on July 20th, 1996, Anthony Owens, age 43. Predeceased by parents, Roderick and Rose; and brother Brendan. Leaving to mourn Linda; three sons; Anthony Jr., Jason and Roger; one daughter Angela; brothers; Roderick Jr. (Marge), Francis (Joan), Leonard (Carol Ann), Kevin (Ann), James (Genevieve), Brian, Michael (Lillian), Dennis (Brenda), Albert in Alberta; Andrew (Donna) one sister Linda (John Furlong); also a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 24th, 1996 at 9:30 am from St. Teresa’s Church. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Shave, Gordon Walter
Passed away suddenly at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Friday, July 26th, 1996, Gordon Shave, in his 72nd year. Predeceased by his wife Joan and sister Nora. Leaving to mourn his sister Vera; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday, July 28th, 1996 from 7-9 pm and Monday, July 29th, 1996 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.. Funeral Service to take place on Tuesday, July 30th, 1996 at 2 pm from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
