ASPINALL, Mary JUDITH - Born January 28, 1933 in St. John's, Newfoundland. After a full and rewarding 78 years, Judith passed away peacefully as love surrounded her in Oakville on June 10, 2011 at 3:25 a.m. by her beloved family. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Loretta Murphy, her brothers John Murphy (Madeline), Robert Murphy and Paul Murphy, her sisters Janet Murphy and Marie Freeman (Tom). Leaving to mourn her beloved children: Philip, Mark and David Aspinall; her granddaughter Jessica Susan-Judith Aspinall; her sisters Regina McBride and Barbara Patterson (David); her brother David Murphy (Genevieve); sisters-in law: Eve Murphy (Paul) and Stella Murphy (Robert). Cherished by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and their children as well as a host of friends and colleagues.
Judith began grade school at St. Bride's College, Littledale, St. John's, Newfoundland in 1946, received her High School diploma from the Convent of the Holy Child, Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania in 1950 and her English Literature Degree from Rosemont College, Rosemont, Pennsylvania, in 1954. Throughout her professional career she worked internally with The Reader's Digest, London, England; Time-Life International, London, England; Atomic Energy of Canada; University of St. Michael's College, Toronto. The highlight for Judy was her work at The National Ballet of Canada which she enjoyed tremendously as she has had a strong natural bond and felt most connected with the arts. She retired in 1997.
Guests were always graciously received at the family home in Oakville on Anthony Drive. Visitors never left Judy's house before tea was served and food was offered. Her three boys often toiled in the kitchen to make even the most common gathering a special event for Judy. Everyone that came through the door was a special guest. Judy always gave happily of her time and was always up for a chat.
As years passed and while the boys grew older, Judy developed many passions of her own including gardening, tennis, needlepoint, teaching, reading and writing poetry. Perhaps the most loved and miraculous passion was her love of art. In spite of her medical affliction, Judy found the ability to create stunning and creative sketches and paintings. Until the end, she was still fascinated by the new techniques taught to her when she attended art class.
Judy was passionately proud to be a "Newfoundlander born and bred" and returned to her birthplace at every opportunity to get her fix of the salt air. She would often say "I need to go home to get grounded." Her favorite place to visit was Topsail Beach as it brought back many fond memories. She created a beautiful life "away from her home in Newfoundland" where she raised her children in Oakville. As a very loved and devoted mother and a dear Granny, her children and granddaughter were always on her mind. She will be remembered for her infinite love of family and long term bonds to friends, her vibrant personality and her passion for, and love of, life. Her generous spirit, her tremendous kindness and her compassionate nature touched all those who knew her. She had an uncommon ability to find something positive in every situation despite the obstacles. Obstacles she simply dismissed as trivial.Judy's life and spirit and devout faith in the Roman Catholic Church will be celebrated at a funeral mass to be held at her parish, St. Andrew's Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Thursday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. which will be followed by her burial at Trafalgar Lawn, Oakville. In lieu of flowers, Judy's family ask to support The Lupus Clinic at the Toronto Western Hospital, to help them support their unprecedented work to heal life beyond expectation.
Judy's spirit is an irreplaceable loss to our community. Though deeply missed by all she came in contact with, she will forever be remembered by the sunshine her soul unknowingly shown on all it could reach.

Celine, as she was known to many, was born and raised in Keels, Bonavista Bay and lived in several rural Newfoundland communities before settling with her family in St. John's where she lived for the balance of her life. Celine often fondly recalled her time in Tickle Cove where she taught for a number of years before focusing her energies towards raising her six children with her devoted husband Bill. PARSONS, Robert Taylor - (Oct 5, 1937- June 27, 2011). Passed peacefully away on June 27, 2011, Robert Taylor Parsons originally from Woody Point, NL. Predeceased by his Mom and Dad (Hazel and Ormsby), his adoring wife of 40 years Gertrude (1998) and his daughter Dianne (1984). Left with many marvelous memories are his children Judy (Paul Kirby), Janet, Robert (Gale Wiseman) and Carolyn (Greg Janes); his best friend and partner Rosalind Tippett; his grandchildren Shannon (Eddy Cox), Adam, Aaron and Kelly; one great-granddaughter Anna; sister Sandra (Rendell Crocker) and her family; sisters-in-law Annie White (Joe), Loretta Dolmage (Neil), Helen Forward (Wendell) and Kathleen Webster (Fred); brothers-in-law Kevin Willette (Bernadette), Sam Willette (Marg), Jack Willette, Phil Willette (Peggy), and Terry Willette (Lynn). Bob also leaves many life-long friends and relatives to mourn his passing. All those close to Bob have been blessed with many wonderful memories. He was a warm-hearted, gentle soul who loved music, valued hard work and put family first. In earlier years, Bob worked with his father in their family business, "A.O. Parsons and Son", in Woody Point, NL. He had many fond memories from those times, including fishing down on the Labrador. Later, he moved to western Labrador with Gertie and the kids to work as a mechanic for Wabush Mines, and eventually for IOC. Bob had an entrepreneurial spirit, much like his Father, and eventually started his own business "Parsons Mobile Maintenance". In later years, he, with good friend Walter LaCour, operated "The Truck Shop" in Holyrood. Bob was a very hard worker, sometimes working two jobs, all with the goal of making life better for his family. Bob was a generous person; as the saying goes "he'd give you the shirt off his back". Bob's nature was to take it a step further - he would probably ask if you needed it washed first! He was involved in rescuing the lives of two people; a young boy who was drowning in Bonne Bay and a pregnant woman who had been stranded in a snow storm in Trout River Gulch. Bob was one of several who transported her safely to Corner Brook Hospital during a horrific storm. He was always willing to help those in need. Music was one of Bob's great loves. He came by it honestly, as his mother played the organ in the United Church in Woody Point. Bob played the accordion, piano, guitar, harmonica and mandolin. He loved Newfoundland music; anything "close to the floor" would be welcomed. He was even reputed to have once worn the varnish off of a piano stool after one particularly enthusiastic night of merrymaking! And many a dance at the Orange Hall he would play for. He passed his passion for music on to his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Cremation has already taken place. Inurnment to take place at the United Church Cemetery, Woody Point, NL on Friday, July 1st. Donations in his memory can be made to the Woody Point United Church Cemetery Fund, Bonne Bay, NL, or to the Canadian Mental Health Association, or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to Dunphy's Funeral Home, Holyrood. Please visit www.dunphys.ca to sign the memorial guest book or to leave a message of condolence.

Pat was one of the luckiest men alive. He grew up and spent his life in an idyllic place surrounded by a loving family, a devoted and loving wife, and many close friends. He spent the day outside in the fresh air, and afterwards was sitting in a chair by the window planning the drying of freshly caught caplin when he passed suddenly and painlessly from this world.
