CHAFE, William Leonard
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Hospital on Tuesday, June 23, 1981, William L. Chafe, aged 72 years of 125 Elizabeth Avenue. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Jane (Merner), one daughter Roberta (Mrs. John T. Walsh) at St. John's, two sons: William L. Jr. and Brian, both of St. John's, 13 grandchildren, three sisters and six brothers, also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will take place from St. Pius X Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. 

PUTT, Genevieve (Rideout)
Passed peacefully away June 17, 1981 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, Genevieve (Jenny) Putt (nee Rideout), in her 44th year. Leaving to mourn her husband Thomas, one son Wayne, three daughters Sadie, Theresa (Mrs. Thomas Hillier), and Helen (Mrs. Gordon Drew); one sister Agnes; two brothers: Ron and Raymond Rideout; stepbrother John Raymond, also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral from Caul's Funeral Home to St. Kevin's Church, the Goulds for Mass at a time to be announced. Interment in the Goulds. 

STACK, James
Passed peacefully away on June 19, 1981 at the Hoyles Home, James Stack, aged 88 years, of Petty Harbour. Leaving to mourn: wife Frances Stack in the Hoyles Home and brother of Edward Stack in the Goulds and Ellen Stack of Petty Harbour: three sons: William and Vincent in Petty Harbour, John in Boston; also four daughters: Betty O'Brien, Loretta Gervasi at Boston, Lydia Stym at Vancouver and Jenny Power of Flatrock; one step-son, Edward Stack of St. John's; two step-daughters: Madonna Goodwin in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Mary Hearn in Petty Harbour; also 29 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral on Wednesday from Caul's Funeral Home to St. Joseph's Church in Petty Harbour for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Petty Harbour.
