Byrne, Christina Stella “Tina” (nee Lowe)
Age 59, of St. John’s. It is with great sadness we express the passing of a dear wife, mother and friend. Passed away, after a brave battle, at the Health Science Center on Wednesday, June 19th, 1996. Leaving her husband of 41 years, Lawrence; mother Beatrice Sullivan; daughters; Donna Morin (Sylvain) and Bobbie; sons; Larry and Paul; 7 grandchildren; Gabrielle, Amanda, Jessica, Connie, Christie, Danielle and Tommy; many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
“Mom, we all love you so very much and we know you will be with us forever.”
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral on Saturday, June 20th, 1996 at St. Paul’s Church, Newfoundland Drive, for Mass at 10 am.. Cremation to follow.

Hussey, Robert H.
Passed peacefully away at his home in Portugal Cove, Sunday, June 9, 1996 Robert Hussey, age 83 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Ann (nee Hynes); only son; Jim, wife Blanche; 2 grandchildren; Kelly and Melissa; four sisters; Margaret, husband Hubert Neary, Jessie Hynes, Ruth Vincent, Ella, husband Clyde Vincent; also a number of relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Funeral Service from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove, Wednesday, June 12, 1996 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.

McNiven, Edward Patrick
Passed peacefully away on Thursday, June 20th, 1996, after a sudden illness, Edward Patrick McNiven aged 58 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Rosemary in 1980. He will be forever loved and sadly missed by his five children; Lori (fiancée Darrell Hayward), Michael (wife Debbie), Karen, Gerard, and Mary (husband Dennis Eastman); his three darling grandsons; Ryan, Bradley and Lucas; his very special friend Bertha Williams and her children Joan, Shawn, Lynn and Heather (husband Clarence Chidley and children Carl, Colin and Tyler); his sisters; Eileen, Rose (husband Cecil Gardiner), Christine (husband Wayne Furlong), Kay (husband Paul Ely) and Elizabeth Gaudet, and his brother Robert (wife Geraldine); also a very large circle of family and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral Mass Monday, June 24th, 1996 at 10 am from Roncalli Chapel. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Miller, Dolores A.
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family on Friday, June 14, 1996, at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, after a short illness, in her 63rd year. Long-time employee of the Avalon Consolidated School Board, Beachy Cove Elementary. Predeceased by her husband Ernest and granddaughter Jennifer in 1988 and mother Annie in 1995. Leaving to mourn with fondest memories her daughter Beverly Squires (Don); sons; Dean and wife Lisa, Noel and wife Norman; four grandchildren; Kelly and Christopher Squires, Erin and April Miller; one sister Anna (White); two brothers; Jerome (Bun) and Hubert (Marg); sisters-in-law; Effie (Dinn), Joan (Walt Codner), Lavern (Hayward Miller) and Eileen (Neary); special friends; Mary, Les and Loretta Greeley; other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Funeral Service on Monday, June 17th, 1996 at 2 pm from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove. Interment in St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to St. Lawrence Anglican Church Fund or to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic.

NEARY, Stephen A. (Steve)
Passed peacefully away at his home in St. John's on Friday, June 7, 1996, Stephen A. Neary, retired M.H.A., aged 71 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Mary (nee Maher); children: Andrea (David Zucca), Stephanie (Aubrey Gover), Pierre and Monique; grandchild Matthew Zucca; brothers and sisters: John (Helen), Margaret (John Durkin), Gerald (Winnie), Anne (David Reed), Peter (Hilary); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, with visitation from 10 a.m. - 12 noon and 2:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 1996, from The Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Shaw, Frederick
Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre on June 26th, 1996, in his 38th year. Predeceased by his parents, Patricia and Harry Shaw. Leaving to mourn wife Deborah; sons; Jamie and Jason; sister Patsy Ann (friend Wayne); mother and father-in-law Joan and Joseph Glasco; niece Jessica Patricia; aunt Louise (Mrs. Tom Hoyles); uncles; John Morecombe; and Kevin McDonald; and a large number of friends and relatives. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Funeral Service 11 am Saturday, June 29th, 1996 at Barrett’s Chapel, with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

WILLIAMS, Mary S. (Nee Glynn)
Passed peacefully into eternal happiness on Thursday, June 6th, 1996, Mary Williams at the age of 85. Predeceased by her husband Ex-Sgt. Bert Williams and her daughter Margaret Kinsley (1972 (written in). Leaving to mourn her three sons: Herb (Thelma), Kitchener, Ontario, Kevin (Margaret), Sarnia Ontario, George (Margaret), Halifax, N.S.; and one daughter Patricia Lawlor (David), St. John's; a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. From 7 p.m. Friday, June 7th. Funeral Mass on Monday, June 10th, 1996 at 10 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Church. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Patrick's Mercy Home.
