Although it was a hard fought battle, he truly enjoyed and cherished every moment since his transplant with his family, grandchildren and the basketball community as he watched every game possible his grandchildren played in. His courage, perseverance and determination to survive and enjoy life was an inspiration to many. When asked by others if he made the right decision to have a transplant given all the challenges he faced, the answer was undoubtedly yes, he would go through it all again for the extra time with his family and had cherished the gift he had been given. One of his wishes was to request all family and friends to sign their organ donation cards, one donor can save many. Many special thanks to all the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Health Science Centre, St. Clare's Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, Cancer Clinic, Palliative Care and other families and friends encountered on his journey. Harold completed high school in Joe Batt's Arm and received his Bachelor of Arts from Memorial University and a Bachelor of Divinity from Queen's College. As a young man, he began his parish ministry in the Parish of Belleoram, Fortune Bay. It was there he met and married Doris Mae (Mills). Harold would openly admit that Doris with her vibrant personality and her flare for fun contributed greatly to his success in parish ministry. Together they ministered for 32 years in many parishes in Newfoundland and 5 years in Nova Scotia. Harold's style of ministry, centered on the importance of home visitation and personal contact, brought affluence and success to all of the parishes to which he answered the call. Socially, he enjoyed reading, keeping up-to-date with current events, news, and politics, playing a good old card game with friends, watching hockey, especially the Toronto Maple Leaf's. Those who knew him best would know that house chores and cooking were never on his to-do-list; for the needs of his parish and his people took precedence. In short, Harold was very happy with his calling in this life and will be supremely happy with Him in the next. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Carbonear General Hospital for their care and support and to Moore's Funeral Home in Bay Roberts for making all of the arrangements. CRISANTI, Vincent (Vince) - With loved ones by his side, Vince passed away on Friday, May 22nd, 2015 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Brandon, Manitoba, at the age of 54 years. Vince was born February 5th, 1961 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the only child of Giuseppe, (Joe), and AgostinaCrisanti. He was raised in St. Boniface where he attended Holy Cross Elementary School and then graduated from Nelson McIntyre Collegiate in 1979. It was during his early retail career at Canadian Tire that he bravely asked for a first date with cashier, Marci Dillabough. They were married on July 9th of 1983 in Winnipeg and it was in August of that year that Vince accepted a job transfer to St. John's, Newfoundland with father-in-law, Merv. During the next five years, life on "the Rock" brought great happiness, not only career wise but also in making lasting friendships. In 1985, the highlight was the arrival of son, Greg, who remained his pride and joy for the next twenty-nine years. Never could Vince have imagined that returning to Manitoba in 1988 and living in Brandon would be so rewarding and life changing. 1992 brought the exciting news of the arrival of daughter, Lindsay. The challenges and struggles she faced after birth only made the love and bond of this family of four grow stronger. After 19 years in retail with Canadian Tire, the dream of having his own business became a reality, when in 1999 Vince became a MTS dealer and opened Cellular Communication Plus Ltd. The opportunity of being self employed rewarded him with devoted employees, dedicated customers and the privilege of representing MTS, whom he deeply respected. In 2014, due to illness, the difficult decision was made to sell his much loved business. Vince measured his success by the wealth of love and respect he received from family and lifelong friends. Many of his friends became the chosen brothers and sisters he never had. Vince was amazed how his family, his chosen family and many devoted friends stuck by his side and supported him, especially during the past four and a half years. Vince had a heart full of treasured memories and truly was a happy individual. No man had a kinder heart. This was proven during the final year of his life, as while still struggling with cancer, Vince insisted on giving back to others by volunteering his time to the Helping Hands Soup Kitchen. His goal was to make a difference in the life of every person he met. During the last year of Vince's life, great focus was made on completing his "bucket list." This included spending as much time as possible at the cottage, cruising on Clear Lake in his much-loved pontoon boat named "Making Memories," and fishing, golfing and partying with the gang. His travels included fulfilling a desired return trip to be with his Sicilian family, a vacation of the Crisantis, Dillaboughs and Pardys to Turks and Caicos, and most recently to a favorite holiday location on Marco Island, Florida. The greatest highlight and proudest moment for Vince was to share with his family the magical day when son Greg married Carrie on November 29th, 2014. Most recently he was able to enjoy, along with his daughter Lindsay, his beloved Brandon Wheat Kings success in making it to the WHL final. He also was thrilled when his favorite NHL team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, hired a new coach in a historic signing deal. He was extremely proud to know his best friends, Coach Brian and Lois Fowler, along with her team won the Senior Women's World Curling Championship. Left to mourn with immeasurable sadness is his wife of almost 32 years, Marci; his cherished children Greg (Carrie) and Lindsay; his mother AgostinaCrisanti; Mom #2 (mother-in-law) Gloria Dillabough; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rhonda and Craig Pardy and their children Brad and Taylor; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Allan and Darlene Dillabough and their children Jordyn, Robyn and Jayden; his many aunts, uncles and family in Sicily, Italy and numerous treasured friends. He was predeceased by his father-in-law MervDillabough (January 2011) and his father Giuseppe (Joe) Crisanti (October 2011). The funeral service to honour Vince's life was held at Central United Church, Brandon, MB on Wednesday, May 27th, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ken DeLisle officiating. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. In keeping with Vince's wish to help others, donations in his honour may be made to the Helping Hands Soup Kitchen, 111-7th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 3S5.
Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com   Arrangements were in care of Brockie Donovan Funeral and Cremation Services, Brandon, MB, (204) 727-0694.

JACKMAN, Mark Alexander - (September 26th, 1996 - May 6th, 2015) - Passed suddenly away in a tragic car accident May 6, 2015 in St. John's, NL the family and community announce the loss of Mark Alexander Jackman. Predeceased by his grandmother Olga (Crocker) Burt. Left with devastated hearts, but loving memories are his parents; mother Sandra (Burt) Jackman, father Dr. Paul Jackman and sister Lauren Elizabeth. Also mourning are his Grandfather Harold Burt and Harold's wife Margaret (Peddle) Whitten and Grandparents Don and Noreen Jackman; Uncles Greg Burt (Tanya White) David Burt (Krista Stevenson) Sean Jackman (Robert Dimech) and Aunt Catherine Jackman (Doug MacKay). Also mourning are his first cousins Jake and Camille Burt (mother Wendy Dunne) and Charles and James MacKay and many great uncles, aunts and cousins. As well, feeling this great loss is his Parliament St. Neighborhood family and a large circle of extended family and friends. Mark also leaves behind his Gonzaga High School Alma Mater and his beloved Gonzaga Basketball teammates, MUN Engineering peers, friends from his days with the St. John's Soccer Club, NL Provincial Soccer and Basketball and Chess communities.
Mark was born in St. Mary's Ohio, USA where his dad had pursued a career in family medicine. He was blessed to have survived that night in a complicated birth that almost took his life then and his mother's. Mark would always retain this flare for the dramatic and we were blessed to see his shining ideas and intelligence although sadly for too short a time. Mark was the consummate student-athlete. He graduated with A-Plus honours from Gonzaga High School in 2014 and was awarded the MUN Entrance Scholarship. Mark had just completed his First Year of Engineering at MUN with an overall A average. Mark was Grade 4 Provincial Chess Champion and member of Provincial Championship and Select teams in Soccer and Basketball. He cherished the chance to represent his province and enjoyed the travel that came with it to the rest of Canada, USA and UK. Mark earned the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and was a Regional Science Fair Champion. Mark was gifted with other talents including guitar and drums and golf but even his talent there and attention to Golf Channel's Golf Academy could never fix his father's fundamentally challenged golf swing. Mark was blessed with an unusual intelligence and often saw things from outside traditional perspectives. At times he may not have had a clue where he left his wallet but he could tell you whether ionic radiation was a concern going forward in the space-time continuum. He was a voracious reader and respected Da Vinci and Einstein in the past and the modern views of Jobs, Gates and Elon Musk and Warren Buffet. Mark's thoughts were often on his theories and his buddies and their adventures so his bedroom maintenance was secondary much to his mother's chagrin. He would often misplace things so his sister Lauren and Dad and Mom would often find their headphones or phone chargers "borrowed." Despite the bravado Mark was very sensitive and may not have told his buds about the hug he had given to his Mom that day or belly-rub to the family dog Sam. Mark was a visionary who could recognize years in advance the emergence of talent including the prowess of PGA golfer Jordan Spieth and The NBA's Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors and Elon Musk and the Tesla vehicle even when the press at large was not seeing it.
Visitation will be at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday May 9 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Sunday May 10 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday May 11, 2:30 pm at The Salvation Army St. John's Citadel, Adams's Ave. Donations may be made in Mark's memory to Ronald McDonald House St. John's. Mark: We are devastated at your passing from this world. We take some measure of comfort in the fact that your Uncle David was with you in your final moments. Although difficult we were blessed by the wonderful and professional treatment given by all Emergency Responders, Eastern Health Medical and Nursing staff and Clergy. Mark, may you be at peace in the loving arms of Jesus (don't argue with him - he knows even more than Musk!) You are a star that shone brightly, but oh too quickly. We will marvel at your supernova and be inspired to challenge our own limits. We Love you.

LEAHEY, Marjorie (Browne) of Halifax died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at her daughter Shelagh's home in Port Maitland, Nova Scotia. Marjorie was born in St. John's Newfoundland to Mary (Harris) Browne and William J. Browne, November 5, 1925. She had one sister, Madeleine (John Murphy), and two brothers, William and Peter. After Marjorie's mother died, her father married Mary Roche and they had a son, Edward, and a daughter, Antonia. Following Mary Roche's death, her father married Mae Buckley Fleming (daughter Margot Ryan) and, when Mae died, he married Nora Elphinstone Renouf. When Marjorie was twelve years old she began attending the Convent of the Sacred Heart School in Halifax. She later trained as a registered nurse at the Halifax Infirmary and she worked as a nurse in Halifax. Marjorie married Arthur Leahey of Saint John, New Brunswick, and the couple moved to Windsor, Nova Scotia. While living in Windsor, they welcomed a family of eight--four girls and four boys. She became involved in the work of St. John the Evangelist Church in Windsor and, after the family's move to Halifax in 1962, with St. Thomas Aquinas Church and later St. Agnes Church. Marjorie was active in the Catholic Women's League most of her married life and was a member of her church choirs. She was also a member of the Professional Engineers' Wives and on the board of the YWCA. Marjorie loved the friends she made while playing bridge and was a member of bridge clubs in Halifax for more than 50 years. In her early fifties she attended St. Mary's University and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts alongside her youngest son, Terry. Family was the centre of Marjorie's life and she, in turn, was the hub of her family. She loved to hear details of the lives of her children and their partners, her grandchildren and all their friends. She relished their successes and worried about their troubles. Marjorie's only request of her family was that they care for her in her later years and the steady stream of traffic to and from her home was evidence of their care. Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur and her dear son Tom. She leaves behind her brothers Father William and Peter (Michelle Tercinet); her daughter-in-law Marion (Lohnes); daughters Madeleine (Howard Snow), Shelagh, Brenda (Harry Young) and Kathleen (Gus Nikoletsos); sons James (Ann Mann), Robert (Eileen Driscoll) and Terrence (Rebecca Lancaster); grandchildren James, Keya and Michael Leahey, Christopher (Sarah Moore), Megan (Julian Smith) and Nicholas Snow, Shawn, Matthew (Elina Kostopoulos) and James Leahey, Andrew, Allison, Elizabeth and Victoria Young, Adam and Eleni Nikoletsos, and Benjamin and Shai Leahey and Rachel Lancaster; greatgrandchildren William and Ainsley Snow and Elias Leahey; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. The family is deeply appreciative of the care Marjorie received from Dr. Mary Sidhom, Home Care and VON in both Halifax and Yarmouth, and the Heart Function Clinic, Halifax. Visitation will take place at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, Tuesday June 2 from 4-8 pm. Her funeral Mass will be at St. Agnes Church, 6903 Mumford Rd., Halifax, (902-454-8200) Wednesday June 3 at 10 am, with a lunch and reception to follow immediately in St. Agnes Church hall. The burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Marjorie would be delighted if you plant a flower in her memory in your garden. For those wishing to make a monetary donation in Marjorie's memory, please consider Covenant House, 20 Gerrard Street E., Toronto, ON, M5B 2P3 (www.covenanthousetoronto.ca), a charity Marjorie supported.
