LARDER EDMONDSON Barbara Lorraine She fought the good fight; she finished the race". On October 14, 2020, Barbara Lorraine Larder Edmondson left us, and we mourn her passing. She completed her marathon with grace, determination, energy, valor and always a sense of humor. She was a faithful and loyal companion, generous to a fault, and always thinking of her family and friends. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Elizabeth Heather and John William Larder, and her brother, David, grandson Christopher Mason, as well as Brother-in-law, Ed Birmingham. Barbara and her twin sister, Jo, were born while her parents served in the Armed Forces in Great Britain during World War II. John served in the Royal Artillery Regiment in the Canadian Army and Heather in the Auxiliary Territorial Service, Searchlight Regiment. The twins lived with their great Aunt Marjorie Templer-Townley in Fulbourn Manor, located in Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire, England. Barbara was very fond of Aunt Marjorie, who was a renowned artist and designer in the UK. Their mother Heather with Barbara and Jo in tow emigrated from England to Nova Scotia on the great ship, the Queen Mary, when the twins were two; their names are listed on the ship's register, as Barbara confirmed in person during a trip to California. The family spent most of Barbara's formative years in their home base of St. John's, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada. After High School, she entered the General Hospital School of Nursing in St. Johns, graduating in 1964. Barbara moved to the USA after graduation, finally living in Texas, where she spent the rest of her years. There she met Billy Frank Edmondson and later married him in Houston on February 14, 1969; they remained married until her passing. They shared their love of music and dancing, and spent many years together dining, listening to live music, and dancing. Barbara's home for nursing was Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas (now THR), and she was one of the earliest hires for the new hospital. Her management expertise was soon recognized, and she spent many years as Head Nurse in the Emergency Department. It was there that she forged life-long relationship with her friends, Patricia Nevels, Carole Campbell and Sandra Meadows. Their bond lasts until this day, and they spent many wonderful times traveling the world to places in Europe, St. Thomas, Edisto Island, San Francisco, Green Valley, AZ., Ashville, NC., Washington, DC and New York City. They enjoyed many trips to Mexico resulting in a wealth of interesting stories! The Presbyterian "Golden Girls" will not be the same without Barbara. Her long- term friendships with Mary Gilliland, Jeanne Haben and Bennie Flynn should also be mentioned. Barbara was always perfectly groomed, dressed to perfection before any outing, and loved dining "al fresco". A perfect evening for her was eating lobster or scallops, sitting outside and enjoying time with family and friends. We would be remiss to not mention her delight in traveling to the Bellagio in Las Vegas and Choctaw in Oklahoma to pillage the house with her odds-defying luck on the slots. Leaving the nursing profession, she worked with Bill building up and managing "Shutter Craft", a custom shutter business in Plano. Following her entrepreneurial spirit, she became a successful real-estate developer. Her sense of timing served her well in this new profession. Her "crown jewel" was developing Rose Hill Estates in Richardson, TX. She and Bill built their home and resided there for many years. Surviving is her husband, Bill Edmondson; sons, Mark Edmondson and Scott Edmondson, both of Austin, TX., and daughter, Nicole Edmondson, of Springfield, MO. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Aiden Edmondson and Austin and Dakota Williams. She is also survived by her brothers, Colin Larder (Marie) and Robert Larder (Margaret) her twin, Jo Birmingham, and sister Libby Bishop (special friend Dave) all in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Barbara has countless nieces and nephews, who will also mourn their Aunt Barbara. Grateful thanks are extended to her sister Libby, who provided loving and personal care in the last stages of her life. Thanks also to her caretaker, Mary Viera, for also providing needed and welcome support. Additionally, her husband and two sons were instrumental in making her last days as peaceful as possible. Barbara's go-to Charity was St. Jude's and memorials can be directed to that organization. With the pandemic still dictating protocol, and according to Barbara's wishes, a simple reception will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest on Greenville, post-pandemic. Interment will be private.

In Newfoundland he met his spouse, Marion, where they enjoyed live music, seafood and exploring Newfoundland. Upon returning to Calgary, Harold rediscovered Western Canada and Alaska with Marion. They enjoyed RVing and cruising and life in Calgary in their house with a view of the mountains. His hobbies were downhill skiing, curling, ATVing, fishing, camping, and travel. Harold grew up on his family's dairy farm in Hillsburgh, Ontario, working hard helping out with the farm chores with his two brothers. His work ethic would stay with him his whole life. He fondly remembered his mother's vegetable garden and loved fresh food from the farm. He started school in a rural one-room school house and attended the United Church where he taught Sunday school. He went to high school in the town of Erin, loved cars and worked at a garage in his teens. He attended the University of Waterloo and graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1976. After retirement he worked as an offshore oil consultant for a year. Harold and Marion were active members of the Petro-Canada Alumni Association. He enjoyed cruising the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, the Panama Canal and New Zealand and Australia. His favorites were Alaska and New Zealand. He was a fan of CFL, NFL, NHL, MLB, curling and Formula 1 and Indy car racing and cheered for the Calgary Flames and Stampeders and the Green Bay Packers. He loved dogs and owned several throughout his life. He loved his '76 Camaro that he bought after university and kept it his entire life. He never complained about driving us to the rink at 5am for skating practice or driving us to the mall on a Friday night. We will never forget his epic Chinese food feasts or the wine he brewed. A very special thank you to all the staff at St. Patrick's Mercy Home. They treated us like family and made sure Dad never ran out of ice cream. They always had a smile, song or a story to share. PEDDLE The Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Curtis Ralph We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Geoff - husband, father, grandfather, brother, servant, Priest and Bishop - but mostly friend, and above all, a child of God. His life and his work exemplified his favourite words from the Prophet Micah: "What does the Lord require of you but to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Geoff was born in Bonavista and was a proud Newfoundlander and Labradorian - he loved both places and he was honoured to serve and minister as Priest and Bishop in Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador. He is predeceased by his parents Ralph and Jean Peddle, sister Kathryn, brother-in-law Arch, in-laws Fred and Stella Hayter, and brothers-in-law David and Vince. Leaving to mourn and to give thanksgiving for his life are his wife Kathy, son Adam and daughter-in law Magdalena, precious granddaughter Josefina, and son Benjamin. Be kind to one another. May there be many moments of grace for us all as we make our way through these bewildering and sorrowful days. She also was quite passionate about and contributed to many other worthwhile causes such as the eradication of the exploitation of children and the prevention of cruelty to animals. Ada was a strong force to be reckoned with and a very independent woman. From a professional standpoint, Ada had contributed significantly to the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (ARNNL) and even served as its President from 1980 to 1982.
