Corbett, Annie (nee Dyer)
Passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, October 23rd, 1996, Annie (Dyer) Corbett of St. John’s, aged 80 years. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas. Leaving to mourn her daughter Dorothy Corbett Morris and son-in-law John Morris, Ottawa; also sister Carmel Noseworthy and husband Edwin; sister Margaret Dugan; brother Sylvester (Sy) Dyer and wife Jean; brother Robert Dyer and wife Anne; members of the Corbett family; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visiting hours 2-5 pm and 7- 10 pm Thursday and Friday. Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 26th, 1996 at 9:45 am from St. Pius X Church. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Newfoundland Lung Association.

Piercey, Margaret (Aunt Maggie) (nee Gilbert)
Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, October 22nd, 1996 of Hopeall, Trinity Bay, in her 87th year. Predeceased by husband William, 1973; sons-in-law; Ronald Scott, 1991 and Clyde Harvey, 1996. Beloved mother of Neil (Jackie), Vancouver, Alice Harvey, Boswarlos, Marg Scott, Hopeall, Joan Courte, Vancouver, Douglas Ralph (Verna), Victoria, Linda Bamford, St. John; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; also special friends; Annie, Cassie and Bennetta. Resting at Warrens Funeral Home, Dildo until noon Thursday, then resting at First United Church, Hopeall from where the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 25th, 1996 at 2 pm.. Interment to follow, United Church Cemetery, Hopeall. Flowers gratefully acdepted or donations in her memory may be made to First United Church, Hopeall.

WALSH, Wanda Geraldine (Abbott), aged 32 years
Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, Oct. 18, 1996 at the Health Sciences Centre. Leaving to mourn her devoted and loving husband Neil; darling son Stephen; her loving parents: Jim and Betty Abbott (Guy) of Musgrave Harbour; five sisters: Janice (Glenn Chaulk), Judy (Alphonsus Fahey), Roxanne (Bernard Walsh), Geraldine (Dennis Stokes), Gloria (Fiancé Mark Hayward); two brothers: Owen (Fiancee Suzette Guy) and Jamie; father-in-law Dennis Walsh and Esther, and all the Walsh family. Also a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 1081 Topsail Rd. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday from salvation Army Citadel, Ashford Drive, Mount Pearl. Interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.

Woodman, Elwood
Passed peacefully away, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family, at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, October 23rd. 1996, of New Harbour, age 74 years. Predeceased by wife Effie, 1989. Leaving to mourn two sons and three daughters; Kathleen O’Keefe (Gerard), Point Verde, Placentia, Terrance (Daphne), New Harbour, Daphne Green (Charlie), Green’s Harbour, Paulette Fong (David) St. John’s, Todd (Janice), New Harbour; 14 loving grandchildren; and 5 loving great-grandchildren; two sisters; Marjorie Higdon (Stanley), Buchans. Pearl Foote (Edward), Hearts Delight; a large number of other family and friends. Resting at Warrens Funeral Home, Dildo. The Funeral Service will be held from the Salvation Army Citadel, Dildo/New Harbour on Saturday, October 26th, 1996 at 2 pm.. Interment to follow, Salvation Army Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
