Passed peacefully away St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in the presence of her family, Anna Curran (Windsor) of Ferryland, on September 1st, 1996, age 70 years. Left to mourn with a lifetime of loving memories, husband; Paddy, children, Wilf (Gail); Janet (Rick Kenny); Chris (Debby), Heather (Gary Sullivan) and John (Marlene); daughter-in-law Rosemary Curran; grandchildren; Lori, Lana, Erin, Alicia, Ciaran, Shauna and Hannah Curran, Susan, Dale, and Sarah Sullivan, Lee, Mark and Grant Kenny; brothers; Algy (Anna) Windsor of Aquaforte, Bruce (Helen) Windsor, Kilbride; sisters; Dororthy Keough and Grace (Claude) Stoodley; Aquaforte; sisters-in-law; Mercedes Clowe and Anna Curran, Ferryland, Margaret Curran, Jerseyside, Placentia; brother-in-law James Curran; Boston, Mass; and large circle of family and friends that she made welcome into her home. Flower gratefully accepted or donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetic Association. Resting at her home in Ferryland. Funeral on Wednesday, September 4th at 2 p.m. from Holy Trinity Church, Ferryland. Cremation to follow.

Fulford, Carl
Age 33
, formerly of Merasheen Island, Placentia Bay, Nfld. Passed away September 25, 1996 at his sister's residence in Richmond, B.C. after a short battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn his mother Leona Jarvis (Fulford) and step-father William Jarvis, Dunville; four brothers; Donatus and Raymond, Marystown, P.B.; Donald, Edmonton; David, Richomd, B.C.; five sisters; Bernice Best, Southern Harbour, Theresa Ralph, B.C.; Trina Crewe, Mount Pearl; Florence and Bernadette, Hamilton, Ontario; and 99 year old grandmother, Theresa Pomroy, Placentia; and a very special friend Eliana; and a large number of relatives and  friends. Predeceased by his father William Fulford; three brothers; Kevin, age 26; Dennis, age 35; and baby Donald, 9 months old; and sister Marion, age 16. Funeral Services at Dunville, P.B. at a time to be announced. Dearly loved and sadly missed by all.

Grandy, Simeon
Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Inter-Faith Home in Grand Bank on Tuesday, September 24, 1996, Mr. Simeon Grandy of Grand Bank, in his 83rd year. He leaves to mourn his wife Caroline; one daughter Joan, Mrs. Rowland Rideout, Grand Bank; four sons; Gordon and wife Mary, Grand Bank, Arthur, wife Christine, St. John's; George, wife Doreen, Grand Bank, Eric, wife Doris, Grand Bank; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Harriett Hickman and husband George, Grand Bank, Mrs. Annie Matthews, Halifax; one brother James Grandy and wife Delsey, Grand Bank. He is predeceased by his daughter Lucy and sister Emily. Remains rested at Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank. Funeral Servide took place on Thursday, September 26th at 2 p.m. from The Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements made by Warren's Funeral Home.

HAMLYN, Alice (nee Purcell)
Passed peacefully away at the Leonard Miller Centre on September 19, 1996, age 85. Predeceased by husband Bob in 1957. Leaving to mourn her 11 children: Alice Blundon (Edgar), Carbonear, Anna McCarthy (Mike), Mt. Pearl, Charlie (Geraldine), Maddox Cove, Beth Hearn, Mt. Pearl, Mary Holloway, Kelligrews, Bob (Georgina), Labrador City, Clare Pippy, Ottawa, Cathy Gallant, Deer Lake, Jim (Dallis), Maddox Cove, Brenda Humby (Derrick), Mt. Pearl, Max, Ottawa; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandsons; sister-in-law Theresa Prim; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at Mary Queen of the World Saturday, September 21, 1996 at 12:00 noon. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter's Church Building Fund, Mt. Pearl.

Kearley, Randell John
Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 25, 1996, Randell Kearley of Terranceville, aged 67 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Melita; three daughters Christine Hunt (Roger), Joyce Edwards(Lud) and Mary (Carl); six sons; Randell (Rita), Thomas (Maureen), Aloyuisis (Gloria), Stan (Vivian), Eric (Coreena) and Jim (Claudia); six brothers; Stanley, Thomas (Emily), Harold (Myrtle), James (Mary), Robert (Vera) and Wilson (Hazel); 20 grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Roman Catholic Church, Terrenceville. Funeral Service on Monday, September 30, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. from the Roman Catholic Church, Terrenceville with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Terrenceville.

Kenney, Brenda (nee O'Reilly)
Formerly of Freshwater, P.Bay. Passed away September 26, 1996, at Saratoga Springs, NY, after a courageous fight with cancer (age 54). Predeceased by her parents, James T. and Eileen O'Reilly, and sister Clara. Leaving to mourn her beloved husband Tom; daughter Karen; sons; Brian and John; sisters; Joan, Maureen, Patricia, Eileen, Sheila and Cathy; brothers; John and Jim. R.I.P.

LaBelle, Jean Paul
Passed peacefully away on September 24, 1996, at Montreal, Quebec, Jean Paul, aged 70 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 50 years Elsie; six daughters; Christine; Sandra (Yvon)Hache; Barbara LaBelle, St. John's, Newfoundland; Diane (Marcel) Seguin; Linda and Helen; also, four grandchildren as well as numerous friends and relatives in Montreal.

Miller, James
Passed away suddenly, as a result of a tragic accident, at the Health Science Complex, on September 26, 1996, James Miller, aged 81 years. WW11 Veteran. Leaving to mourn his children; James (Francis); Sandra Baggs; Wayne (Margaret); Patricia Jones (Reg); Fred (Shirley); Derek (Linda); David (Brenda); Jo-Anne Stone (Lorne) and Robert (Daphne); 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Ruby of Florida; friend Laura and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 1081 Topsail Road from 2-9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.to noon and 2-5 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Service 2 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 1996 from Topsail United Church with interment to follow at Topsail United Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are being gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to Topsail United Church.

Milley, Barbara (nee Noseworthy)
Passed peacefully away at the Grand Falls Hospital on September 12, 1996, Barbara Milley of Botwood, age 58 years. Predeceased by husband Hubert 1995. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Watson and mother Annie Sceviour of Botwood; sister Beulah Marie and husband James Barron, Carbonear; brothers; Harold and wife Mary, Avondale, Norman and wife Iris, Botwood, Cecil and  wife Linda Bolton, Ontario, David, Brampton, Ontario; special nephew Bruce, Palzrabe, Ontario, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral Service was held Monday, September 16, 1996 from the Salvation Army Citadel, Botwood with interment at The Botwood Community Cemetery.

Morry, Mary (Pat)
Passed suddenly away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on September 27, 1996, Mary (Pat) Morry. Leaving to mourn one son, Dr. Peter (Jo) Morry of Houston, B.C.; one daughter, Paula (Ron) Kruk, Kirkland, Quebec; five grandchildren; very special niece, Fredris Caines, St. John's; also many other relatives and friends. At Mary's request cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving visitors at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. A Memorial Service will take place from The Carnell Memorial Chapel at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 1996 with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Ferryland, at a later date.  In honor of her memory, her family and friends will be gathering for a special farewell at her residence in Ferryland on Monday, September 30, 1996 from 2-4 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation, Sudden Death Syndrome Research or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Murphy, Bridget (nee Ryan)
Passed peacefully away on Friday, September 8th, 1995, Bridget (Bride) (nee Ryan) Murphy. Predeceased by husband Frank in 1979. Leaving to mourn sister-in-law Carrie Ryan and special niece Betty Jackman; also a large number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home at 84 LeMarchant Road. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 11th, 1995 at 9:30 am from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Belvedere Cemetery. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Agnes Pratt Home.

Murphy, Kathleen (nee Ryan)
Passed peacefully away at the Grace Hospital on Friday, September 27, 1996, age 74 years. Leaving to mourn her loving husband John Andrew (Andy); five sons; Ron (Maureen), Fredericton; Gordon (Yvette), Ottawa; Eugene (Cathy), St. John's; Perry (extra special daughter-in-law Geraldine), Paradise; Robert (Yvonne), St. John's; three daughters; Lorraine (Jim Angelopoulos), St. John's; Lynn (Stan Maybury), Halifax; and Corriene (at home); 17 grandchildren; sister Margaret Steeves, Moncton; also a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Dialysis Units at the Health Science Centre and the Grace Hospital for their excellent care. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant road. Funeral Mass Monday, September 30th,1996 at 10:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church. Interment at the R.C. Cemetery, Kilbride. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

O'Brien, Helen F.
Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on Thursday, September 26, 1996, age 91 years. Left with fond and loving memories her daughters; Mary Peddle (Bell), Sheila Ivany (Peter); and Eileen Smith (David); 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; also her other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visiting Hours 10 a.m.- 12 noon, 2 p.m.-5 p.m. and 7 p.m.- 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Funeral Mass Monday, September 30, 1996 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa's Church. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Patrick's Mercy Home.

Parrott, Hayward
Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, September 25, 1996, Hayward Parrott of Winterton, age 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Hilda, Winterton; daughter Velma, husband Doug MacDonald, Oakville, Ontario; two sons; Hayward and wife Carol, Halifax, N.S.; Shane and wife Karen, Pickering, Ontario; 8 grandchildren; five sisters and four brothers; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Green's Funeral Home, Winterton, after 7 p.m. Thursday. Visiting hours; Thursday 7-10 p.m. Friday 2-5 and 7-10 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.. Funeral Service to take place at 2 p.m. from St. Luke's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Winterton. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the General Hospital Health Foundation.

Power, Bernard (Bud)
Passed away suddenly at Calgary, Alberta, (formerly of St. John's, Nf) on September 23, 1996, Bernard (Bud) Power, aged 55 years. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Nora Power, and brother Fred (Ted). He will be sadly missed by his wife Gloria (Whitty); children; Deborah Kohlruss (Darryl), Bernard, Jerome, and Danielle; one brother; six sisters; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was held in Calgary, Alberta, on Friday, September 27, 1996.

Rowe, Lillian (nee Smith)
Passed peacefully away in Toronto, Ontario, on September 19, 1996, Lillian Rowe (Smith), age 86. Left with loving memories are two daughters; June Saunders (Lou); Lorraine Badcock (Cliff), both in Toronto; four grandsons; Randy, Chuck, Scott and Jason; two granddaughters; Kelly and Penny; one sister, Blanche Smith in Newfoundland; and one brother William Smith in the US. Also 7 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends in Newfoundland and Ontario. Funeral took place in Toronto September 21, 1996.

Tilley, Edward Francis
Passed peacefully away on Thursday, September 26, 1996, at the Health Sciences Centre, Edward Francis Tilley of St. John's, age 72 years. Predeceased by his wife Margaret, 1973, and his sister Ann Maher. Leaving to mourn daughter Carolann and husband Dave Lincoln; three grandchildren; Cheryl, Susan, and Sean; two sisters; Mary and husband David Perry; Dolores and husband Frank Kendrick, Michigan; sisters-in-law; Ann (Dennis Furlong) and Theresa O'Brien; brother-in-law Leo O'Brien (Margaret); nephews, nieces, and nephew and buddy Dave Perry. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral Mass Monday, September 30, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. No flowers by request.

Warren, Nellie S. (nee Elliott)
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, September 4th, 1996, Nellie S. Warren of Glovertown, aged 76 years. Retired teacher. Predeceased by husband Hughie Ralph in 1980 and sister Myrtle Baker in 1988. Left to mourn, husband Alfred Warren; step-son George Warren, Halifax, N.S.; brother Ross Elliott (Mildred), Barrie, Ontario; nieces; Daphne Baker, St. John’s, Doreen Baker, Newman’s Cove; nephews; Harvey Baker, Newman’s Cove, Lester Baker, St. John’s, Reginald Elliott, Pickering, Ontario, Douglas Elliott, Shelburne, Ontario, Gregory Elliott, Barrie, Ontario; plus many other relatives and friends. Resting at Ackerman’s Funeral Home, Glovertown. Funeral Service at 2 pm on Sunday, September 8th, 1996 from the United Church, Glovertown. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Traytown, NF. Donations in her memory may be made to the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment Foundation.
