Leaving to mourn his daughter Jessica and her mother Michelle; his fiancee Kim Hunt; mother Barbara Morris; sister Alison Barrett; father Chris Barrett; step-father George Morris; also a number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 1081 Topsail Rd., from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Friday, September 8th, 2000 from Church Of The Ascension, Smallwood Dr., Mt. Pearl with cremation to follow. Leaving to mourn with precious memories, husband Jim; sons: Jim, Fred, Howard (Cindy), Earle; grandchildren: Jane, Burke, Murray, Hannah, Katie; sisters: Nell Anderson, Bay Roberts, Gertrude King, St. John`s, Jean Kennedy, Burlington, Ontario. Also leaving a large circle of loving relatives and friends. Predeceased by brothers: Guy and Fred, Carbonear. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, St. John`s. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, September 12th-13th. Funeral Service at St. Thomas Anglican Church, St. John`s, Thursday, September 14th at 2:00 p.m. followed by burial at cemetery of Anglican Church of St. Philip, St. Phillips, Newfoundland. Leaving to mourn one son Jim (Doreen); two daughters: Carmel Greenslade (Mac) and Noreen; four grandchildren: Michelle, Nick and Michael Brophy, and Craig Greenslade; one great-granddaughter, Abbey; also other relatives and friends. Resting at Hickey`s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Funeral to take place on Saturday, September 30, 10:30 a.m. from Holy Cross Church, Holyrood. Interment at the R.C. Cemetery, Holyrood.

CLARKE, Pastor Cecil D. - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on Wednesday, September 20th, 2000 Pastor Cecil Clarke of Seal Cove, Conception Bay South. Age 52 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Alma; son Lee; daughter Renee Osbourne (Craig). Also lovingly remembered by a large number of other relatives and many friends. Resting at Hope Pentecostal Church, Seal Cove, on Thursday, September 21st from 12 noon until 9 p.m.; Then resting at Beacon Tabernacle, Birchy Bay, with visitation Friday noon, September 22nd until time of funeral. The Funeral Service will be held from Beacon Tabernacle, Birchy Bay on Saturday, September 23rd at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Pentecostal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory gratefully accepted to the Hope Pentecostal Church Memorial Fund, Seal Cove or the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment & Research Center. Leaving to mourn her son Robert and wife Doreen; grandson Robert Jr. and granddaughter Stephanie. A special thank-you to nieces Madonna Dillon and Mary Walsh and nephew Richard McCrate; as well as the sisters and staff at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home, especially Betty Druken (Maude). Also leaving to mourn a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. Predeceased by her husband Richard. Left to mourn with fond memories, her five children: Jude (Rolf) Saulkans of Georgetown, Rick (Betty) Conway of Grand Falls-Windsor, Rosemary (Tom) Hedderson of Georgetown, Paul (Annesta) Conway of Brigus and Helen, Windsor, Ontario; her eight precious grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Nicole, Christa, Melissa, Julie, Jonathan, Joan, Emmanuel and Margarita; her sister Margaret Morrissey of Placentia and sister-in-law Dorothy Fowler of Marysvale; along with a large number of her beloved nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Broughton`s Funeral Home, Brigus, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of Snow`s Church, Marysvale, Monday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brigus. Predeceased by his parents, Richard & Marguerite Finn, and brother Joe. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife Eileen (nee Kennedy), his only daughter Diana Woodford, son-in-law Melvin, and precious grandson, Cameron, Hr. Main, his sisters, Mary Ryan (Jim), Jerseyside, Helen Coady (Joe), St. John`s, Betty Butorac (Nick), Mount Pearl, his brothers, Tom at St. John`s, Eddie (Marg), Port aux Basques, Gus, Kelowna, B.C., John, Jerseyside, brothers-in-law, Patrick Kennedy (Johanna), and John Kennedy, all of New York, sisters-in-law, Madeline Kennedy and Angeline Dalton (Don), all of Hr. Predeceased by husband James. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, son Kevin (Mary); two daughters: Lorraine Fletcher (Jim), Bentonville, Arkansas and Madonna Hearn, Mount Pearl. Also leaving to mourn five grandsons: Troy Fletcher (Paige), Douglas Fletcher (Stacie), Jim Hearn, Corey and Justin Gosse. Also three great-grandchildren in Arkansas; two sisters: Annie Murphy, Kilbride and Margaret Peddler, Hyannis Port, Mass. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. JACKMAN, Francis Michael - Surrounded by his loving family, Francis Michael Jackman passed peacefully away on Monday, September 18, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 79 years of age. Predeceased by his father and mother, Robert and Elsie, brother Robert and sister Jean. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Catherine (Kitty) (nee Donovan); seven children: Frank (Joan), Carol Ann (Mike Keough), Terry (Roxanne), Bob (special friend Linda), Shirley (Bob Mayberry), Lorraine (Pat Crotty) and John; twelve grandchildren: Michael, Brian, Lori, Darrin, Julie, Susan, Jill, Holly, Scott, Shauna, Steven and Christa; and three great-grandchildren: Ryan and Jackman Keough and Nicholas Jackman. Also left to mourn, stepmother Angela Jackman (Edward Martin); sisters and brothers: John, Dorothy, Shirley, Derm, Sheila, Steve, Robin, Dave and Karen; as well as a large circle of supportive relatives and friends. Formerly of Port de Grave, retired fire fighter, St. John`s Airport; member of the first 200th Royal Navy; CJX 173325. Predeceased by parents Reuben and Fanny Morgan; sister and brother-in-law, Flora and Allan Bishop of Long Pond; brothers: Clem and Albert of Port de Grave and Donald of Bareneed. Leaving to mourn with many precious memories, his loving wife Lindy; four sons: John of Saudi Arabia, Dennis (Marie), Wally (Maxine), Leonard (Catherine) all of Foxtrap; three daughters: Jessie Eason (Dennis), Manuels, Linda Mercer (Jim), Manitouwadge, Ont. and Kim Whelan (John) of Seal Cove; thirteen precious grandchildren: Wanda Lee (Mike), Dennis Jr., Wally Jr., Kim, David (Melissa), Michael, Patrick (Joanne), Karen (Lee), Veronica, Stephen, Carolyn, Danny and Curtis; also leaving to mourn sister Frances Rideout (Eric), Long Pond; brother Harvey (Enid), Port de Grave; sisters-in-law: Audrey Morgan and Lizzie Morgan of Port de Grave and Mabel Morgan of Bareneed; as well as many other relatives and friends. ROWE, Albert J. - (Accountant). Passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 23, 2000, Al Rowe of Topsail, in his 47th year. He was born October 28, 1952, in Corner Brook. Leaving to mourn his loss are his loving family, wife Betty (Pittman), son Michael and daughter Stephanie; his mother Annie, Corner Brook; sisters: Winnie (Wayne Matthews), Corner Brook, Cora (Ted Mierzwa), Mississauga, Ontario, Denise (David Seviour), Corner Brook, Jill, St. Catharine`s, Ontario, Joy (Selby Janes), Corner Brook and Shirley (Gary Mosher), Irishtown; his parents-in-law: Randolph and Daisy Pittman, Sop`s Arm and brother-in-law Bruce (Valerie), Sop`s Arm, along with a number of nieces and nephews and a wide circle of other relatives and friends. Al was a long-time member of the vestry of St. Peter`s Anglican Church, Upper Gullies. He was president of the CBS Lion`s Club and a member of the Elk`s Lodge. Remains resting at James. J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews with visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, September 24. Burial will take place from St. Peter`s Church, Upper Gullies, Monday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Peter`s Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Dunn`s Hill Road, Foxtrap.

WALSH, Patricia (Peddle) - (53). Born September 1st, 1946 on Bell Island. Passed away peacefully at the home of her son in Buena Park, California, Wednesday, August 23, 2000. Patricia is survived by her husband of 31 years, Peter; sons: Paul, Leo, Terry; and daughter Susie; as well as grandchildren: Cayla, Heather, Brittany, Michael, Connor, Anthony and Jonnie; brothers: Ron, Bernard; and sister Genevieve. In lieu of sympathies, everyone who knew and loved her should put on some Irish music, enjoy a beef steak and kidney pie, a Vo7, and a game of Scat. Her kindness and generosity will be remembered by all.
