It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth Ann Bennett announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the age of 84 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Gary (Julia), Paul (Della), Melvin (Doreen), Bert (Judy), Sylvia (Gervase); grandchildren: Adam, Gary, Crystal, Patrick, Cheryl, Shane, Donavan, Sue Ellen, Darrell; great-grandchildren: Kaydence, Nicholas, Emma, D.J., Brody, Liam, Brayden; brother Martin (Mary). She was predeceased by her husband Bertram; her parents Frederick and Bridgette Louvelle, brothers: Joseph, Walter, Gerald, Freeman, Freddy; sisters: Nellie, Mary; grandchildren: Kanta, Ann; great-grandchild Dawson. Visitation will be at St. Joseph's Parish, Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will take place on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Maurice O'Quinn officiating and inurnment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shallop Cove, St. George's, NL. BURROUGHS, Leonora Mary (nee Kerfont)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leonora Mary Burroughs announce her passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL on Friday July 6, 2018 at the age of 95 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons; James David (Shirley), Robert Joseph, brother Gilbert Kerfont, sisters; Ceclia Gaudet, Lydia Wiseman, Betty Carlson, Francis Fratus, grandchildren; Jamie, Shawna, Jason, Hallie, Jesse and her great-grandchildren; Sophia, Berkley, Baron, Jersey & Blakely. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph Kerfont & Annie Renouf, husband James Walter, daughter Linda and her brother Norman Kerfont. Visitation will take place at Russell's Funeral Home in Stephenville, NL on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at 7-9 P.M. with a private family burial at a later date. CALLAHAN, Fern Pearl

Surrounded by her loving family, Fern Pearl Callahan (nee Skiffington) passed peacefully at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, July 23, 2018, one day before her 76th birthday. Fern was born in Musgravetown, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland, on July 24th, 1942. She was the first born of Earl and Mary Skiffington's five children. As a young woman, Fern married Joseph Vincent and they had nine children during their 15 years together. She has spent the past 46 years with her second husband, Howard Callahan. Fern was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She found great joy in spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known and loved for her excellent cooking and sweet and kind nature. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo with loved ones, camping, playing computer and online games and watching the Young and the Restless. She was a friend to many, and truly adored by them all. She leaves to mourn her children: Sheila Kreuzburg (George), Marilyn Robinson (John), Rose Hickey (Ron), Joseph Vincent (Brenda), Sherry Benoit (Johnny), Barbara Vincent (Tom) and Dale Vincent; her siblings: Fred Skiffington (Beulah), Anthony Skiffington (Eileen), Diane Skiffington and Clayton Skiffington (Wilhelmina); her stepchildren: Deborah, John and Tammy Callahan. She also leaves to mourn 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Earl and Mary Skiffington, her daughter Susan Vincent, her son Richard Vincent and her sister Judy Skiffington. Special thanks to the Palliative Care staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their tenderness and compassionate treatment of Fern in her final hours. Visitation for family and friends will be held from Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from the hours of 2-4 pm. At Fern's request cremation will take place and a service of remembrance will be held from Country Haven Chapel on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 2 pm with Reverend Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to take place at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are accepted or donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of NL. Passed away at his residence in Curling, James Cashin, in his 58th year. Leaving to mourn his passing his mother Marina; sisters: Linda (Thor), Steady Brook, Donna (Bruce), Corner Brook, Betty (Bruce), Corner Brook, Debbie (Howard), Pasadena and Teresa, Corner Brook; brothers: Al (Connie), Joseph (Kit) and Tony all of Ontario; sister-in-law Dianne, Ontario. Jim had many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. He was predeceased by his father John Cashin in 2015, sister Mary in 1966, grandparents Richard and Catherine Cashin and Walter and Mary MacIsaac, cousins, relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Curling Street with Father Jim Robertson officiating. CHAPMAN, Joyce Emily

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joyce Emily Chapman announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on July 10, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, William Archibald Chapman, in October 2017. Joyce was born January 2, 1930 in English Harbour West NL, the youngest daughter of the late Clifford and Valma (Yarn) Shirley. She was predeceased by brothers Jim, Wils, Sam, Bill, Launce and Cliff and sisters Lilly, Sadie and Evelyn. She is survived by her children Shirley (Peter - deceased) MacDougall of Hamilton, Ont, Bill (Deborah) Chapman of Kentville, NS, John (Claudia) Chapman of Calgary, Alta, Norma Chapman of Stephenville, NL, and sisters-in-law Reta, Meta and Evelyn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Thank-you to the Medicine Unit nursing staff of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their care and compassion. A memorial service will take place at Russell's Funeral Home chapel on July 20, 2018 at 2 pm with inurment to follow at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery. Evelyn Gladys (nee Batten) Davis
of Curling, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care facility, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 88 years. Forever loved by her children; Verna (Ewen), Lorna, Marion (Tim), Marina (Dave), Donna (Matthew), David, Raymond (Kathy), Cathy (Cyril), Paul, Gerry, Stephen and Bernard (Sonya); as well she will be deeply missed by her 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers: Donald (Minetta) and Austin (Margaret); sisters Verna, Joan and Marion; as well as many relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Horace, son Charles, brothers Raymond, Bruce and Gerald. A heartfelt thank you to the medical staff at Western Memorial Hospital and Corner Brook Long Term Care. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. DAWSON, Mary Margaret (nee Dunphy)

Mary Margaret Dawson (nee Dunphy)
passed away peacefully on Friday, July 27th, 2018, at 77 years of age. Mary was born May 24, 1941 in St. John's NL, the eldest daughter of the late Emmett and Mary Dunphy. She will forever be in the hearts of her loving husband, John; her four children: Gwen, Darryl, Michele and Michael; and her three grandchildren: Julia, Jacob and Sam. Mary will be missed by her brothers and sisters: Joe (Carol) Dunphy, Madeline Comeau, Carol Ann (Selwyn) Kletz, Julie (Peter) Bettney, and Jim (Deborah) Dunphy, including John's siblings and their spouses: Ann (deceased) (Tony) Flynn, Marcellian (Marion) Dawson, Everett (Helen) Dawson, Frances Dawson, Tom Dawson, Madonna (Gary) White, Alice (Emerson) Crane, Sheila (Gilbert) Crane, Kevin (Doreen) Dawson, and Dominic Dawson. Mary was loved by nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends. Mary's love of and sensitivity for music was an inspiration to the community. As a teacher, choir director and piano instructor, Mary touched the hearts and minds of her students, fellow musicians, and an array of audiences who enjoyed hearing her play and learned from her gift. Her ever-generous heart was unfailingly warm and open to anyone who needed care and love and she treated everyone she met as another member of the family. With her children and grandchildren, she was a shining example of love who led with her quick wit, humour, strength, fortitude and joy for life. Above all, Mary was and will always be John's best friend and his soul mate; their bond was and is an inspiration to all who have ever met them. We would like to thank the Palliative Care Staff of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their care and compassion during this difficult time. We will always be grateful for all they gave to her. The family will be receiving friends at Russell's Funeral Home, Stephenville on Sunday July 29th from 7 to 9 pm and Monday July 30th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Humphrey announce her passing on Saturday July 14, 2018 at the Glebe Long term Care Centre in Ottawa, Ontario in her 93rd year. She passed peacefully with some family members at her side. Alice was a resident of The Glebe Lansdowne Retirement Residence since August 2017, but primarily resided in her family home on Brookfield Ave in Corner Brook, NL. Predeceased by her husband Thomas Humphrey (2004), parents Oliver and Emma Samways, 6 brothers and 2 sisters and special friend and companion George Dingwell. Left to celebrate a lifetime of memories are her children; Thomas Jr. (Debbie) of Woody Point, NL; Barry (Chris) Humphrey of Ottawa, ON and Rick (Kathryn) Humphrey of Red Deer, AB. Loved and adored by 7 grandchildren David (Roseanne), Donald (Jennifer), Janice (Colin), Tommy (Megan), Roderick, Cheyanne, Kendra and 6 great-grandchildren Grace, Lily, Griffin, Hudson, Keegan and Edison. Also leaving to mourn are long-time friends Anne Casey, her card buddies, and many friends from being a long time member of The First United Church and Royal Canadian Legion in Corner Brook. Alice was a well-known and caring volunteer with many organizations but really enjoyed her time with the Kids Eat Smart Program. She remained active in her community for as long as she was able and loved to share her delicious baked goods. Along with the many caregivers special thanks are extended to her friend Marg Butt and Dr. David Coleman. MULLEN, Gwendolyn Mae (Ring nee Height)

Age 89, of Digby passed away July 7, 2018 at Digby General Hospital. Born in Waterford, Digby Co. she was a daughter of the late Irving Allen and Laura Anna (Sabean) Height. Gwendolyn was a member of the Weymouth Church of Christ and in her spare time she enjoyed quilting and knitting. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Mae (James) Glode, Corner Brook, NL; son, Keith Carl (Carol) Ring, Barton, Digby Co.; brother, Victor Height, Conway, Digby Co.; 2 grandchildren, Aaron (Marsha) Glode, Crystal (William) Webb, 2 great-grandchildren, Amber Webb and William Webb, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Carl Ernest Ring, her second husband, Sidney Eugene Mullen; brothers, Ralph, Vaughn and sister, Beverly. Visitation will be 7-9pm Wednesday July 11, from Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby. (902-245-2525). It is with great sadness that the family of the late Regina Elizabeth Mullett announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on June 29th, 2018 at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Gerald (Ann) Mullett in New Market, Ontario, David Mullett in Sutton, Ontario, Dwayne (Vanessa) Mullett in Collingwood, Ontario, Darryl Mullett in Stephenville Crossing, Darren Mullett (Roberta Benoit) in Stephenville, Wanda Mullett in Oshawa, Ontario, Catherine Campbell in Piccadilly and Sandra Mullett in Orillia, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn her brothers Peter Kennedy in Corner Brook, Sam Kennedy in Toronto, Ontario and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. NORMAN, Evelyn Christina (nee Parsons)

Evelyn Christina Norman (nee Parsons)
passed away peacefully on July 16, 2018, at age 92. Evelyn was born in Little Bay Islands on September 7, 1925, the daughter of Duncan and Christina Parsons (nee Taylor), and grew up in St. John's and Corner Brook with siblings Hazel, Minnie, Austin, Malcolm, Marie, James, Jean, Gerald and Roger. Evelyn graduated from Park Street at age 16 and worked as a bookkeeper at Canada Packers in Corner Brook until her marriage to Herbert Norman on July 19, 1947. Together they started Humber Valley Transport Ltd. and raised a family of eight children. They retired to York Harbour in 1975, where Evelyn became involved in the St. James Anglican Church vestry, Sunday School and ACW; Girl Guides of Canada, the Wee Bauld Senior Citizens' Club, and the Blow Me Down Public Library. Evelyn was an avid reader, quilter, rug hooker and knitter, and an especially talented landscape painter. She was known and loved for her thoughtful nature, quiet kindness and generous spirit. She was predeceased by husband Herb, daughter Brenda Leslie, and companion Clarence Jayne. Evelyn's humour, strength and love will be remembered and cherished by her sister and brother-in-law Marie and Charlie White of Corner Brook and brother Roger Parsons of Ottawa; sons Derek (Vicky Hynes) of St. John's; Brian (Sandi) and Craig (Jewel Rushton) of Dartmouth, NS; daughters Diane Wood of French Lake, NB; Christine Norman of Dartmouth, NS; and Karen (Clint Byrne) and Linda (Randy Skinner) of York Harbour; grandchildren Matthew, Joanna, Brad, Melanie, Aislinn, Christian, Karla, Erin, Kenny, Heather, Brittany, Corey, Adrian, Melissa, Madeline and Sarah; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edwin Arthur Noseworthy announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Centre on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the age of 80. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends around Corner Brook. Over the years Edwin was a very helpful person when it came to selling tickets for a charity or collecting for the Salvation Army Kettle. His family are very thankful for all the treats he received from Coleman's, Gaden's and Brookfield Ice Cream; for all the snow he shovelled. He leaves to mourn his five brothers: Stephen (June) of Ontario, Maxwell (Linda) of Calgary, AB, Albert (Margaret) and Wayne of Corner Brook, Randy (Mary) Edmonton, AB; his five sisters: Betty (Eddie) Chaisson of Halifax, NS, Ellen Smith of Calgary, AB, Sophie (Joe) Newman of Bonne Bay Pond, Linda (Marcus) Maloney of Curling, Nada (Steve) Sooley of Kelligrews; 28 nieces and nephews and a large number of relatives and friends. Edwin was predeceased by his parents: Albert and Lucy; sister Louise (Roberts) Staples; brothers-in-law Sib Staples of Curling and Larry Smith of Stephenville. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter O'Quinn who passed peacefully at his home in Windsor, Ontario with his wife and family by his side on July 31, 2018. Leaving to mourn his loving family, his beloved wife Mary Pauline O'Quinn of 40 years; he was a loving father to Colleen (John), Carmel (Timothy), Diane (Dave), Linda (Gary), Valerie (Blair), and David (Sherri-Lynn). He will be dearly missed by his 25 loving grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters: Regina, Joan, Tresa, Ann (Sandy), and Emmie (Engram); brothers: Phones (Pat), and James; sisters-in-law: Sandra and Maralies, brothers-in-law: Eddie (Pat), David (Bev), Amie, and Clyde; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Sean (2010); parents Ralph and Mary O'Quinn; sister Marg; brothers Joseph (Ruthanne); brothers-in-law Stanley, Gordon, Andy and Dan; parents-in-law Edmund and Joanna Beaudoin and brothers-in-law Bobbie, Jake and Len. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home 218 Curling Street on Friday, September 28th from the hours of 12-1:30 Pm, followed by interment at 2 p.m. at Mount Patricia Cemetery with Father Andrew White officiating. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Corner Brook Food Bank.

PENNEY, Colin Hann

Passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 75 years of age. Much beloved husband of wife Zhenya (Jenny) Schukow, loving father of Andrea (Victor Tilley) and Eric (Cherie Pyne), and proud grandfather of Farah. Cherished by his sister Lois (Tim Perrott) and brothers Lee (Iris) and Giles. Predeceased by his brother John, mother Katherine (nee Hann) and father Eric. Colin was born in Carbonear, belonged to Corner Brook, resided for a while in Toronto, and most recently in Fergus, Ontario. As a young man, Colin worked as an electrician at Bowater's Pulp and Paper Mill in Corner Brook prior to attending Memorial University. Colin was a high school teacher in Corner Brook for many years and later taught at the DeVry Institute of Technology in Toronto before retiring to Fergus. Colin was a gifted storyteller and writer and an avid golfer. He was constantly expanding his knowledge and enjoyed being outdoors and travelling. A celebration of Colin's life will be held in Corner Brook in September or October. In lieu of flowers, Colin requested that donations be made to Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, Hospice Wellington in Guelph, or a charity of your choice.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late William (Billy) Penney announce his passing at his residence on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in his 74th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children: Donald, Paul, Tyler and Jamie; his three grandchildren: Stephen, Jessica and Liam; three great-grandchildren: Elaine, Owen and Sophie; his first wife Patricia and former companion Connie; his sisters: Joyce, Nicole, Marie, Doris, Maureen, Judy, Betty, Diane, Maxine and Patsy; his brothers: Robert, Gordon, Roy, Gerald, Don and Wayne; and also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Billy was predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth Penney and his sister June. Family and friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Saturday, July 28th, 2018 from the hours of 7-9 pm, and also Sunday, July 29th, 2018 and Monday, July 30th, 2018 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. was born on February 3, 1929 and passed away July 2, 2018 at Three Hills Hospital - Continuing Care. Bob is survived by his wife Laura, of 62 years, and their two children Hal (Laurie), Eckville, Joy (Nick), Toronto, grandchildren Quentin (Carli) Drumheller, Jenna (Calvin), Red Deer, Jake, London, great-grandchildren, Kadence, Brennan, Austin and Stryker. Predeceased by his parents Joan and Robert Phillips, siblings Ken, Dolly and Norma. After graduating from high school, Bob attended SAIT in Calgary, studying Mechanical Engineering. After graduating he went to work as a Mechanic for 10 years at Rio Vista in Red Deer. In 1967, Bob and Laura headed out west (Arbutus district) to pursue a farming career for the next 25 years. They left Rocky Mountain House and moved to Innisfail for a short time and then moved to Three Hills in 1994 where they have built a lovely life. Bob was a humble man despite his incredible intelligence and many accomplishments. Daddy was shy, but did he love to laugh! He had a strong belief in Jesus - God Bless his beautiful soul. The Funeral will be held at the Trochu Baptist Church on Friday, July 6th at 2 pm. Light lunch to follow. Donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charlie (Sidney) Piercey announce his passing on Friday, July 27th, 2018 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 73 years. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Colette (Mainville). He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his son Shawn, daughter-in-law Tammy (Gaudette), grandchildren: Meghan, Jordan, great-granddaughter Amberlyn, his siblings: Martha Higgins, Bill, Murdock (Maude), Cyril Irving, Dorothy Brown, Ken, Violet Taylor, Melvin (Judy) and Gary (Joy Thistle), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Charlie was predeceased by his wife of 44 years; Colette Marie (Mainville), parents Ronald and Matilda (Murrin) Piercey, brother Moses, sister Effie (Piercey) Irving, sister-in-law Georgina (Kelloway) Piercey, brothers in law: Charles "Butch" Taylor and Keith Higgins. PURCHASE, Beulah Grace

Beulah Grace Rose
was born in Corner Brook, March 27th, 1932. The fifth child of Frank and Mary Rose, into a family of thirteen siblings. In 1953 at the age of 21 years, she married Fraser Louis Purchase. Her beloved husband of 46 years, together they raised a family of three children. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother; her life and love was her family, her strength was her faith. She found the greatest contentment at the family cabin at Bonne Bay Pond, especially when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her quilting and handiwork were her great passion and past time. She was known and admired for her raisin tea biscuits and the best baked bread in the entire family. A lady of strong values and principles. She will forever be remembered as a hardworking, honest, gentle and kind woman and mother. A true friend to many. Beulah leaves to mourn her children: Raymond Purchase (Lisa), Cindy Vander Graaf (Rick), Donna Purchase-Buckle (Don); her grandchildren: Vanessa (Louie), Lindsay (Mike), Jordan, Alanna, Kenney, John-Fraser; her great-grandchildren: Luca and Harper; brothers: Earl Rose, Gordon Rose (Marina), David Rose (Cynthia) and Ronald Rose (Verna); sisters: Elizabeth Traverse, Irene Crann (Donald), Laura Bartlett (Herman), Eleanor Dawe (Edward), and Brenda Lilly (John); brother-in-law Hans Kavli. She was predeceased by her husband Fraser Purchase; parents Frank and Mary Rose; brothers: Alfred Rose (Nellie); sisters: Jean Sharpe (Arthur) and Rita Kavli; sister-in-law Clara Rose; brother-in-law Howard Traverse. Passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2018 at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, Norris Point, Wallace Gilbert Reid in his 99th year. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his daughters Marina (Sam) Philpott of Happy Adventure, NL, Lorraine (Roy) Pynn of Beansville, Ontario, Alfreda (Wayne) Walters of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Hughena (Randy) Penney of St. John's, NL, Marilyn (Doug) Walsh of Warkworth, Ontario and son Robert (Noville) of Norris Point, NL, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also a wide circle of other relatives and friends. Wallace was predeceased by his wife Matilda and son Roland. Wallace was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather and is now resting at peace. Visitation will take place at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, Norris Point, NL, on Thursday, July 26th, 2018 from 7-9 pm and continuing on Friday, July 27th., 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. It is with profound sadness that the family of Kevin F. St. George announce his passing in his 93rd year, after a long wonderful life and a short illness. Born in Deer Lake, NL, he was the son of the late Jack and Josie St. George. Kevin attended Memorial University and Technical University of Nova Scotia, graduating as a Civil Engineer in 1949. After graduation, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy (Reserve) for a period of 12 years, achieving the rank of Lieutenant. At the same time he began his engineering career at Bowater Newfoundland Limited, now Corner Brook Pulp & Paper mill, retiring in 1990. Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Blanche St. George, nee Williams; children Corinne (Alan), Dunrobin, ON, Michelle (Bruce), Corner Brook, NL, Yvette (Joe), Stillwater Lake, NS, Sean (Carla), Rocky Harbour, NL, Seumas (Christine), Chatham, IL and Shane (Ken), Georgeville, NS; grandchildren, Andrew, Stuart, Iain, Brett, Duncan, Allison, Natalie, Kevin, Emma, Marion and Chrissy; and sister-in-law, Dossie St. George. He was predeceased by sisters, Louise Young and Mary Holloway, and brother Brendan. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews and his long-time friends in the Bridge Club. Kevin was community minded and a long term volunteer in Corner Brook and the surrounding area. He served on numerous boards and community organizations, including the Corner Brook Housing Authority, Boy Scouts of Canada, Roman Catholic School Board Building Committee, Community Concerts Association, Humber Rotary Club, Corner Brook Board of Trade, Corner Brook Heart Foundation, Humber Health Care Committee, and the Humber Valley Development Association. An avid skier, he was a longtime volunteer and president of the Corner Brook Ski Club (Marble Mountain). After retirement he assumed the role of Chair of the Marble Mountain Development Corporation, playing a significant role in the growth of the resort. Additional retirement endeavors included a term as a Corner Brook City Councilor, Board Member of the Deer Lake Airport Authority, Chair of the Corner Brook Port Corporation, and Board Member/Chair of the Victorian Order of Nurses, both locally and nationally. Kevin was a proud member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Western Newfoundland Naval Association. For his lifetime contributions to the Engineering Profession, he was awarded the Distinction of Fellow from the Engineering Institute of Canada in 1978. In 2013, in recognition of his significant volunteer and business contributions, and the resulting positive impact on the City of Corner Brook, and surroundings areas, he was named a recipient of the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador - our province's highest honour. Special thanks to Dr. Jerome Davis, Rosalind Michaels of Tender Loving Care, home care workers Mary Butler and Marion Murphy, who made it possible for Kevin to stay with Blanche in their home. Further thanks to Andrea Briffett, Dr. Kate Lafferty, and the Palliative Care Team at Western Memorial Hospital for their professional care and kindness during our Father's final days. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., Father Andrew White officiating. The burial will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 13. Friends may visit the family at Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Mark's Avenue on Sunday, July 15th from 2-4 p.m., 7-9 p.m. Flowers graciously accepted. Donations in Kevin's memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 13 or the Palliative Care - Western Health or the Shepherds Fund c/o Holy Redeemer Parish.
