It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward Arnold announce his passing on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook in his 72nd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Grace; son Cecil; and daughter Christa (Gary) Dyck; grandchildren: Chloe and Madison; siblings: Judy (Lorne) Hancock and Terry; sisters-in-law: Mabel (Roy) Ryan; Alvina (Herb) Green and Olive Brake; brother-in-law Raymond; as well as a larger circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Maxine; baby brother Bruce; brothers-in-law: Donnie, Rhodie and Gerry. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children: Laurie Danks (Craig) and Linda Blanchard (Scott); grandchildren: Nicholas and Spencer Danks, Joshua and Jordan Blanchard; step-grandchildren: Caitlyn Costa (Rui) and their children Bella and Shiloh Costa, Mandy Park (Robert) and their children Braydon and Paige Park; brothers: Eldon, George, Norman (Vicki), Garry (Kathy) and Leslie; sisters: Gertie Darrigan, Clara Poole and Daisy Bailey, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Eliol and Mary Bailey; sisters: Eloise, Julia Pike (George) and Margaret Kelly (Gordon); sisters-in-law: Ada and Grace; brothers-in-law: Bert and Lawrence. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Simeon Baker announce his passing on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Long Term Care in Corner Brook at the age of 95 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his son Glen (Donna), fur baby Missy; sister-in-law Frances Ferguson; and a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce; parents Allan and Lizzy; brothers: Hubert, Alec, Ernest, William and Allan; sister Myrtle; sisters-in-law: Vida and Vera. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Thursday and Friday at 2-4 and 7-9 pm. BARTLETT, Clara Nina
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Clara Nina Bartlett, at her daughter's home in Ajax, Ontario. Clara Nina was born in Rattling Brook, Newfoundland to Lydia and Joshia Bartlett. Generally known as "Mrs. Gabriel" by many in Corner Brook, NL, she was the beloved wife of the late Norman Gabriel. She spent most of her life raising her twelve children as well as helping anyone and everyone who came to her with problems. Our Mother was known for her generosity because she could never see anyone in need and not offer to help. She was a deeply caring, compassionate, strong person with a great sense of humor. Mom taught us all that regardless of where a person came from, what colour they are or whether you were rich or poor, all people deserve to be treated with kindness and dignity. Our mother, Nina, was the loving mother of Agnita Ladd, (predeceased by) Margaret Norma Metcalf, Patricia Gabriel, Cyril Joshia Gabriel, Alice Lorraine Gabriel, Marilyn Jane Jones, Randolph Norman Gabriel, Sean Gerald Gabriel, Raymond Wayne Gabriel, Theodora Gabriel-Senior, Gerald Fredrick Gabriel and Robin Rubyann Gabriel. Our Mother was also cherished by her 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren as well as her numerous nieces and nephews. She was the dear sister of Margaret Bartlett of Bay Verte, NL; predeceased by her sisters Jane Gosse and Mabel Bartlett both from Florida as well as brothers Chess, George (Scott) and Cyril Bartlett from Corner Brook, NL.

BENNETT, Aladdin Raymond

It is with great sadness the family of Aladdin Raymond Bennett announce his passing on Aug 2, 2017. He leaves to mourn his wife Virginia Bennett; sons: Shawn (Cindy) Ian (Deceased); daughter Kathy (Ernie); grandchildren: Samantha, Patricia, Andrea, Zoey, Lauren, Grace; great-grandchild Ryleigh; sisters: Kathleen (Ruben) Bennett, Ivy (Doug) King, Greta Maynard, Eileen Bennett; brothers-in-law: Rendell Reid and Elton Brown, as well as a large circle of other family members and friends. Aladdin was predeceased by his parents Albert and Tamsey Bennett; sisters: Myrtle (Sydney) Reid, Florence (Raymond) Reid, Thelma (Henry) Reid, Rita Reid and Edith Brown; brothers: Fred Bennett (Mildred) and Maurice Bennett (Maude). Loved by everyone who knew him, Aladdin was happiest spending time with his family. His favourite place to relax was at Lomond with his wife Ginny, where he enjoyed building things with his hands and playing his accordion. Cremation has been intrusted to the care of Country Haven Funeral Home. In keeping with Aladdin's wishes there will not be any visitation or Funeral service. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff on the Palliative Care unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.

It is with great sadness that the families of Ethel Mae Bennett nee Ellsworth announce her passing at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017, at the age of 71 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Curtis of 50 years marriage, her children: Janice (Gordon) Crocker, Freddie Bennett (Pauline Nichols), Dorothy Bennett (Scott Payne), Daniel Bennett, Jamie Bennett, Edgar Bennett (Tina Quinlan), Angela Bennett (Damien Barnes), and Stephen Bennett, her grandchildren: Andrew (Terri-Lynn Pinksen), Mark (Jennifer Batt), Christopher, David, Kyle, Zack, Deneka, Hayden, Logan, Seth, and Natalie, her great-granddaughter, Nevaeh, her sister, Sabina Payne, her sisters-in-law: Betty Ellsworth, Colleen Bryan, and Irene Payne, her brothers-in-law: Bernard (Daisy) Bennett, and Graham (Lorraine) Bennett, her special bingo buddies. After a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's, it is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary (Molly) Elizabeth Brake announce her passing on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Corner Brook Long Term Care, at the age of 81 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Bill; son Barry (Nina); daughters: Elaine (Mike) Lynch, Paulette Fitzgerald (Danny McKinnon) and Colleen Crocker; grandchildren: Sherry Lynn (Greg) Brake, Jason (Chrissy) Brake, Colin (Christy) Lynch, Lori (Paul) Riley, Bradley Crocker; five great- grandchildren: Darcy, Keegan, Payton, Gus and Mae; brothers: Alex Noseworthy, Joe (Greta) Park; sisters: Pat Burton, Loretta Park and Maisie (Chris) Buckley; brothers-in-law: David (Dorothy) Brake and Bernard (Audrey) Brake; sister-in-law Theresa Hunt; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. CLUNEY, Gerry
Born: May 29th, 1962
Passed on: August 27th, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerry Cluney announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on August 27, 2017 at the age of 55 years. Gerry passed away doing what he loved to do - riding ATV. Gerry was fondly referred to as the "Mackerel King" by many of his friends, Gerry had a heart as big as his belly. Leaving to mourn the loss of this kind hearted man is his mother Barbara Cluney, sister Bonnie Cluney, brother Kirk Cluney, nephew Ryan Doyle, niece Carrie Cluney. Also leaving to mourn is "Marco" the family dog and a large circle of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his father Alban Cluney. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Maria Regina Parish from where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 31st at 2 p.m. with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Port au Port. Following the funeral service there will be a celebration of Gerry's life at The Twlight 50 Club in Port au Port. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bay St. George Sick Kids Foundation in Gerry's memory would be gratefully accepted.

COLBOURNE, Franklyn 'Mank' Cron

It is with great sadness that the family of Frank 'Mank' Colbourne announces his passing on August 23, 2017 at Chartwell Niagara Long Term Care Residence, Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario after an extended illness. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Angela 'Angie' Lewis of Brigus Junction, Newfoundland and their six children; Rick (Darlene) of Windsor Junction, Nova Scotia, Joanne (Howard) Noseworthy of Callander, Ontario, Jamie (Sue) of Seattle, Washington, Walter of Seattle, Washington, Susan (Brian) Feeney of Coburg, Ontario and Lisa (Darren) Tapson of Guelph, Ontario. Frank has 10 grandchildren, Troy (Jodi) and Renee Colbourne, Adam (Sonja), Ian (Heather) Angela (Derrick Crane) Noseworthy, Kimberley Colbourne, Jacob Feeney, Ashley (Brandon) Hunt, Colby (Brittany) and Alexa Tapson (Tyler). They have been blessed with 10 great-grandchildren; Drew, Brynna, Hailey, Jarod and Cameron Colbourne, Caelan and Hudson Noseworthy, Jackson Colbourne, Liam and Easton Hunt. Frank was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland on October 3, 1934 to Walter John Colbourne and Elizabeth 'Bessie' Hann. He had five brothers and sisters; Albert (Doreen) Colbourne of Corner Brook, the late Margaret (Rudy) Thistle, Doris (Jeff) Wilcox of St. John's, Elizabeth 'Libby' (Don) Wells of Wolfville, and Paul (Mary) Colbourne of St. John's. He also leaves to mourn Angie's family: Carmel Costello, Dorothy Delaney, Margaret Connolly, Rita Lewis, and Perry Copas and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation for the support of their many friends and neighbours. They want to acknowledge the excellent care provided by the staff of the Chartwell Niagara Long Term Residence, Niagara General and St. Catharines Hospitals and his family Doctor Hanny Hanna. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Gerald; brother Burt Porter; brothers-in-law: Ray (Eileen), Ralph (Jane) and Tony (Liz); sisters-in-law: Margaret Joy, Judy (Kevin) Veitch, Patsy (Derek) Hollett and Peggy Welsh (Lloyd McCarthy); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife; Irene (nee Reid) of 37 years; his sons Wilfred (Marge), Bruce (Marlene), both of Reidville, Merrel (Nancy) of Oromocto, NB, Larry (Collette), of Riverview, NB; adopted son Kyle (Tara) of Hamilton, ON; step-sons Rodger (Diane) of Howley and Perry (Michelle) Martin of Reidville; his daughters Judy (George) Foley of Deer Lake, NL, Joyce Curlew-Moores of Victoria Island, BC, Rhoda (Darryl) Seniuk, of Mississauga, ON, Lisarae Curlew of Fort McMurray, AB; stepdaughter Tina Martin of Hamilton, ON, his 29 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his siblings Doug (Gladys) of BC, Winston (Shirley), Harry (Barb), Don, Cal (Dorothy), and Sadie Shears, of Port aux Basques; sisters-in-law Joan Curlew and Floss Reid, and brother-in-law Arthur Reid. It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Patricia Evans announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL, on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the age of 61 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 43 years Brian Evans, her children: Peter (Jennifer) Evans and Kevin (Lori) Evans, her grandchildren: Sierra, Savanna and Brayden Payne, her mother and father-in-law: Hoover and Sybil Evans, her siblings: Sharon (Max) Peddle, Debbie (Craig) Wells, Doreen (Marc) Gallant, Glen (Shelley) Antle, Barb Antle, Shawn Antle and David Antle, her brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold (Sharon) Evans, Joy Evans, Judy (Arliss) Wight, Joanne (Larry) Locke and Scott Ball, her special nieces and nephew Jenna, Melissa and Matthew Antle. She also leaves to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends. Patsy was predeceased by her parents Alex and Eva Antle, brothers Tony and Larry Antle, sister Mary Lou Antle and sisters-in-law Carol Ball and Cindy Antle. FIFIELD, Violet "Gloria"

Violet Gloria Fifield
, R.N Recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal for Nursing, passed away suddenly at her residence on Monday, August 28, 2017, in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her mother Violet Langdon (Anderson Fifield), father William Arthur Fifield and Stepfather Walter Langdon; as well as brother Max Anderson and sisters Ruby Hardy and Beverley Batt. Left to mourn sons: Lewis Murphy (Kay), George Murphy (Joy), Brian Murphy (Vasuki), Danny Murphy (Mi-Kyong) and Noel Murphy (Nancy); ten grandchildren; thirteen nieces and nephews; as well as the Martin and Mosher families from Corner Brook. Gloria was a former school teacher with the Bay of Islands Board of Education before entering the nursing profession with the General Hospital and Memorial University, but most especially to us all, she was "Mom". She leaves behind innumerable friends in both the teaching and nursing professions. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, August 31, from 12-9 pm. Visitation will continue at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue, Corner Brook, on Friday, September 1, from 7-9 pm and on Saturday, September 2, from 10-2 pm. Funeral service will be held from Fillatre's Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 2:30 pm, Rev. Tanya White officiating, with interment to follow at Townsite Cemetery, alongside her father of whom she thought so much of. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted, or a simple donation in Gloria's memory may be made to help others through the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. Thanks to the many medical personnel, especially those staff of the Dr. H. High Pond Country Inn was a gift to themselves and family members after working hard a life time to ensure their family was blessed. It was here, in a simple cabin in the woods, that the lives of Marina and Ted were graced with the greatest of earthly memories. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Edward Rose announce his passing on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital in Saint John, NB at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Barbara (nee Seaward); Children: Evelyn, Jocelyn May, Harry (Julie), Rita (Clifford) Wallace, George (Colette) and Dwayne (Cindy); brother Frank; sisters: Hilda and Millie; as well as a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Rita (nee Barter) Rose, great-grandson Tameron Rose, son-in-law Morgan May, sister Dolly, parents-in-law George and Violet (nee Holley) Seaward, brothers-in-law Harry (Jean) and Jack Seaward. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret "Minnie" Sheppard announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on August 8th, 2017 at the age of 85 years. She will be sadly missed by the Sheppard and Benoit family, along with her nieces, nephews, caretakers: Krista Benoit, Kayla Barter, siblings: Pamel (Marie) of Summerside, Patricia (Doug) Wheeler of Summerside and Pauline Carahan of New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her parents Isaac and Mary Agnes Sheppard, grandparents John and Florence Sheppard and her two siblings Rex and Lonzo. Visitation will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Thursday, August 10 and Friday, August 11th, 2017 at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. with interment at West Bay Cemetery. Donations to Our lady of Lourdes Church in Minnie's memory will be gratefully accepted.

TAYLOR, Tanya Charmaine

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Tanya Charmaine Taylor announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the age of 43 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved children, son Sean; daughter Laura (Sean); parents Calvin and June Taylor; companion Aaron Saunders, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Bruce Taylor and grandparents Lorne & Josephine Taylor and Chess and Dorothy Ruth. Friends may visit St. Paul's Anglican Church in Summerside on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Malcolm Palmer officiating. In keeping with Tanya's wishes, cremation will follow. Interment will take place at a later date. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Sherry (Roy); granddaughter Destiny; grandsons: David, Darryl and Timothy; great-grandchildren: Jaida, Shane, Leeah, Austin, Daemon, Tegan and Zeva; brother David (Rhoda); and a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and special friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Tucker; parents: William and Celia Vincent; brother Garland; sisters: Vera, Ethel and Francis. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan White announce his peaceful passing at his residence in Kippens on Saturday, August 12th, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Harriet (Ettie), two sons: Ross (Joyce), Nick (Martina); three daughters: Wanda, Arlene (Bill), Pam (Alvin), and special to his family, Pam Alexander, five grandchildren: Allan, Jennifer, B.J., Melanie, Amanda; three great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Luke, Adam; three sisters: Jean, Rita, Francis and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Clara White; brothers Mathias, Wilfred, Hubert and his daughter, Gwen. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 15th, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Russell's Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 at St. Stephen's Parish, West St., Stephenville at 2 pm with inurnment to follow at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway, Stephenville.
