Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at her home in Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 61. Loving mother of Nicole, Carrie, Jaret, Heath, Sonya, and Nicholas, beloved long time partner of George, cherished grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street S. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jean Alexander announce her passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre, Stephenville Crossing on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the age of 89 years. She will be sadly missed by her son, David Kelly Alexander (Patti Spencer) of Stephenville; daughter, Jeanette (Joe) Kingma of Stephenville; one sister, Dorothy Bailey of St. John's; one grandson, David and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Alexander, her parents, John and Lucy Russell, three brothers, Llewellyn Russell, Ralph Russell, Ted Russell, sister Audrey Sheppard. Visitation took place on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Russell's Funeral Home, Stephenville. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, November 10th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Hillview Avenue, Stephenville with Rev. Canon Dawn Barrett officiating with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan Clifford Candow announce his passing on Saturday November 20th, at the age of 80 years. Born at Petries NL, Allan was the son of the late James and Annie Candow. He was also predeceased by his wife Virginia and daughter Wanda. Loving father of Donna (John) Aivalis, Toronto ON, Heather (Michael) Muir, Woodville, only son Robert (Beverly) Candow Whitehorse, Yukon. Beloved grand- father of 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Bertha (Don) George, New Market, ON, Dorothy (Carl) Hansen Wasaga Beach, ON, Phyllis Fair of Saskatchewan. COLEMAN, John Delaney

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved husband and father, John Delaney Coleman Sr. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the age of 76 years at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Glace Bay, NS on February 5, 1934 and at a very young age he moved to Corner Brook, NL with his family. He spent many memorable years there before moving to Sydney River, NS. John was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sydney River. John had a gentle heart and was willing to give in all his capacity. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, M.M Coady Council 9476 and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Corner Brook, NL for numerous years. John is survived by his wife Coreen, his nine children: Anne Marie (Tony), Paul (Helen), Gerard (Debbie), Barbara (Tony), Helen (Todd), Sheila (Eric), Mary (Arnie), John (Arlene), Christine (Gary), 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his 2 brothers Gerald and Joe and his only sister Helen Nellie, stepdaughter Janine Carroll and 2 step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Margaret, three brothers, Edward, Eugene and Harold. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River with Rev. Will MacPherson officiating. GREENE, Claire Eileen (nee Tucker)
After a short, but courageous battle with cancer it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, sister, and grandmother. Claire graduated from nursing in Nova Scotia and returned home to Newfoundland where she worked as a school nurse and met her loving husband Hugh. They later moved to Victoria where Claire worked as an RN at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. She had a witty, devilish sense of humour and an infectious laugh lovingly known as her cackle; she could light up a room by simply being in it. Predeceased by her parents and brother Leo, Claire is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Hugh, son Michael (Kim), daughters Marcellina (Kelly) and Renee (Barret); grandchildren, Clarisa, Erik, Adam and Christopher; sister Barbara (Bernie and nephew Blaise), brother Brendan, niece Rosemary (Ernie), her best friend Angela (Prija) and extended family. A special thank you to her dear friend Madeline. A mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4040 Nelthorpe St. on Nov. 9, 2010 at 11am; a celebration of her life will follow. Passed gently away at Red Deer Hospital Centre, Unit 32. Jane was born in Harbour Grace, NL. At the age of 5, Jane and her family moved to Corner Brook, NL, where she grew up the fifth of 12 children, graduating from Regina Catholic High School in 1968. A year later, Jane attended Memorial University in St. John's, NL, where she met and married Stephen Hayes, they moved to the Gatineau area of Quebec, and had 2 children. In 1979, Jane and the children moved to Calgary, AB, where she began work with Revenue Canada, a job at which she excelled. In 1988, Jane attended U. of C., where she received degrees in Philosophy and History; at the same time, Jane received a degree in Accounting by correspondence course, from Athabasca University. After which she joined the private sector as Office Manager for a number of Companies in Calgary. In 1985, Jane met the true love of her life, Derek Smith. They married in 1990 at a gala event attended by friends and family. Jane, ever the talent, did her own wedding flowers. Many of her talents included; home renovation, woodworking, furniture making, as well as jewellery making, photography (including her own developing) and painting. Jane also loved to ski at Whitefish, scuba dive in Hawaii, travel the Caribbean, golf anywhere, shop everywhere she and Derek travelled; and they travelled to many foreign lands. Jane was predeceased by her first husband Stephen, parents Bill and Della O'Leary, brothers Danny and Raymond, sisters Patricia and Nellie. Jane has left to mourn; husband Derek; son Aaron; daughters: Johanna (Jay Crocker), Theo and Della; Corrina (Glen McClement), Cameron and Daniel; Cicely (Rob Brown), Sami and Becky. Brothers: Bill, Sean (Trish Lake); Seamus (Mia Schwets). HIGHMORE, Gordon "Rocky"
Passed away as he lived in quiet dignity along side his loving wife of 62 years, Veronica (nee Cummings). Leaving to celebrate his life are his three children: Edward (Cecilia), Wanda (Hazen), Gordon (Vivienne) and his four granddaughters: Kerri (Graham), Kristy (Paul), Brenda (Jonathan) and Little Darcy. Our little angel, Dawson passed away peacefully in the IWK Health Centre after a long battle with infantile acute lymphoblastic leukemia and related complications. He always had a very pleasant demeanor and showed courage beyond his years. Whether Dawson was playing in mud puddles, making chocolate chip cookies, or showing his nurses how to do their assessments, he always had an infectious smile and a happy spirit. He will be missed greatly and loved forever. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Johanna White announce her passing on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn with many precious memories her children: Linda (Gary) Pinsent, Pauline (Anslem) Hawkins, Gus, Anne Marie (Howard Skinner), Amy (Albert) Snook, Debbie (Tel) White, Jackie McMullen, Derek White; grandchildren: Danielle, Charles, Ashleigh, Albert, Alan, Brett, Ashton, Nichole, Katherine; great-grandchildren: Russell, Emma, Callie, Amy, Laura; sister Olive Stagg; sisters-in-law: Joyce Wiseman, Ruby Wiseman, Rowena Wiseman, Sandra Lockyear Wiseman, Sadie White as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Augustus; parents Charles and Amy Wiseman; brothers: Edward, Harold, Max, Ken, Gord and sister Lizzie. Visitation will take place from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, St. George's on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where the Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will take place following the Mass in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Court House Road, St. George's. To honour Mary's request cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Whitehorne (nee Purchase) announce her passing on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010 at the Long Term Care Facility, Labrador Grenfell Health Centre, HVGB at the age of 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons: Randy (Colleen), Happy Valley Goose Bay, and Kenneth, Toronto, ON; grandsons: Craig (Debbie Denine), Petawawa, ON, Scott (Elaine Mesher, and their children: Cory, Cloe and Clair) and Brad (Alice Adams and their daughter, Mia), HVGB; brothers: Edgar Purchase (Edna), St. John's, Fred Purchase (Betty), BC; sisters: Gladys Whalen, Baie Verte and Betty Sheppard, Corner Brook; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald, 2006; grandson: Blair; sister: Sadie Watson and brother: Harris Purchase. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. and on Friday, 10-12 noon. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 26th at 2:00 p.m. from Oakland United Church, with Reverend Clayton Parsons officiating followed by interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association. WICKS, Mildred Mary
December 2, 1920 - November 23, 2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mildred Wicks announce her passing on Wednesday, November 24th, 2010, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in her 89th year. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Leander (Scenie), Bruce (Shirley) both of Jacksons Arm. Her grandchildren, Owen (Bev), Pansy (Jamie), Wallie (Wendy), Jamie (Gail), and Jason (Stacey). Her great-grandchildren: Rhonda ( Eric ), Stevie, Josie, Julie Ann, Terrance, Madison, Sydney, Billie and Jaxon. Her daughter-in-law Ivy Wicks and sister-in-law Jane Organ. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent, son Bernard, parents Titus and Rhoda, granddaughter Amanda, and great-granddaughter Teeghan, brothers: Leander, Leslie, Clayton, Allan, William Henry, sisters Maude and Henrietta. The family will be receiving family and friends from the Anglican Church in Jackson's Arm Thursday, Nov. 25th from 7 to 9 pm and Friday Nov 26th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, Nov. 27th, 2010 at 2 pm with the Rev. Leggo officiating, burial to follow at the church cemetery in Jackson's Arm. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake, NL. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his brothers and sisters: Robert (Lorraine), Kingston, ON, Linda (Ken) Smith, Brampton, ON, William (Tina), Brampton, ON and Marlene Winsor, Corner Brook; nieces and nephews: Allyson (Tye) Morley, Jeffrey Winsor (Lesley Jardine), Carla (Derm) Hayes, Stephen Winsor, Tara (Matt) Cross and Joseph Smith (Kayla Engineer); great nieces and nephews: Jakob, Robert and Megan Morley and Mitchell Winsor, as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Genevieve and Bernard Winsor. Granting his wishes, cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday evening, 7- 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 26th at 10 A.M. from Fillatre's Funeral Home Chapel, St. Marks Avenue with Majors Robert and Cassie Kean officiating followed by interment at Mt.
