ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST
ANGLICAN CATHEDRAL

BURIALS

1812 - 1824
(including Roman Catholic persons
buried in the Church of England cemetery 1814)

District of St. John's City

NOTE:
Research Notes added by Jill Marshall and were not in the original burial records
NB: The 1812+ booklet actually begins with a short group of 1824 baptisms. The order as given in the booklet has been retained. With regards to military companies stationed in St Johns, the following acronyms can be fairly safely assumed: RA = Royal Artillery, RN = Royal Navy, RV = Royal Veterans, PRV = Private of the Royal Veterans. The acronyms PRO & RO are unknown.
At the end of this booklet there were a series of lists of funerals in 1814 these included separate lists for Roman Catholic persons buried in the Church of England Cemetery during that time period, as the R.Catholics did not yet have their own burying grounds. There are some details in these funeral which differ from, and in some cases are missing from, the original burial record.
