It would be my pleasure to briefly describe my website.
My main site is known as: St. George's Bay Mi'kmaq, and it is my tribute
to my Mi'kmaw ancestry and to the rich history and culture of the Bay of St. George
and Port au Port Penisula area. It was designed to fill a void that existed
with regards the aboriginal history and a lack of awareness of it's importance
to the overall frabric of society in the area. It is the number one source of
aboriginal news locally, I believe. I felt it necessary to promote the aboriginal
movement in my own way, separate from the bands- without underminding their goals.
My family tree page is my way of sharing with others, my ancestry, so information
can
be exchanged and an awareness of where we come from is accessible to all.
