NLGS - Newfoundland and Labrador Genealogical Society

The Newfoundland and Labrador Genealogical Society, operated by the Society and located on Water Street is open on a regular basis, with full time business hours in the summer. Members use the Centre's resources free of charge. Non-members of the Society are charged a small research fee. The fee is used to maintain the NLGS collections and keep the resource center open to the public. Staff will assist researchers with the records to find relevant information. Photocopying is done by staff only and some records may be restricted. The NLGS comprises of five collections, the Cemetery Collection consists of data taken from headstones all across Newfoundland and Labrador, the family histories collection, the reference collection (reference materials, how to manuals and guides) and the periodicals collection.
